After glazing the piece I left it out over night it the could so that the glaze would crack and create a sort of broken look to it. The surface is smooth, however, and shows no trace of the cracks in the lower la[injection]yers of glaze. The piece was fired and came out white due to the type of clay that it was, so I simple used the clear glaze as the finishing touch. The cracks on the insides of the eye sockets are intentional as well. After I was done with the piece I used a hair dryer tospeed up the drying process which caused the clay to shrink faster than it should and pull apart and create the cracks. Since I didnt get as many cracks as I would have liked... I left the piece out in the cold after glazing after stated before.
