After playing flash games and such, it says to check your alerts to see your winnings but I'm not getting any alerts. Why is that?

It means there is a problem with the authentication of data somewhere between your computer and the server, and unfortunately something we are unable to fix as it lies on your end.

I always tell people, clear your cache and cookies before playing games. That tends to help sometimes. Also, try switching browsers (although this is not guaranteed to do anything, doesn't do much usually but sometimes people have success with it).
