Hmmm, I'm somewhat surprised that nobody has even made a rodent FC yet, at least not that I've seen. o.o

I know everyone isn't a fan of even domesticated rodents, but still... and I haven't seen a fan club for gerbils either, so I believe this is a first 8D


Anyway hello there, I have owned three gerbils in my lifetime. Zoe and Mango have both passed on, but Pepper, my little girl, still has plenty of time left with me. She's probably around 9 months, and is an adorable little nutmeg coloration with large ears and eyes. She's a lot lighter than most nutmegs, her fur just isn't as dark. But she's very pretty. I don't have any pics of her right now, but I'll see if I can't get one or two up here <3


This fan club is for gerbil owners and lovers--you don't have to own a gerbil to join.^^

I love gerbils!  I tried to convince my parents to get me two, but they said no. :c  My dad is very anti-pets.  Well, not really against the pets themselves, more like he believes that animals belong outside and humans belong inside in a house.  So if I got a gerbil he'd make it live outside.  Which, frankly, is impossible.  My ex-friend and one of my other friends used to own gerbils, and that's how I got introduced to the little furballs. <3

But if I could get a gerbil, I'd get two sibling honey creams.  They're so pretty. <3

Pepper looks a lot like this, although with a lighter coloration on her forehead and back <3

When I got her she was golden with a smudged nose, I didn't realize she would change to look so different. She still has that really dark nose though xD

Zoe and Mango were siblings. Mango was an agouti and Zoe was a black, although she had a white chin. However when they got close to adulthood I had to separate them because they started fighting. I only recently found that this sometimes happens with female gerbils, so that's why I just have Pepper. For some reason she actually prefers corn over sunflower seeds xD

That's probably a good thing though because sometimes seeds in a food mix will have colorful dyes on them, and even though they're safe for the gerbils to ingest, Pepper is allergic to them.

I hope you do get to own a gerbil someday, they're really fun to watch and play with. They're very good climbers though, and I've found out the hard way that that's something you have to watch xD
