Tae

The First of Three

She’s like the sunshine, the way her eyes sparkle, how she smiles and laughs, and how she lets her ribbons float loosely around her, quite unlike how most other kiokas seem so infatuated with how their ribbons are wrapping around themselves. She doesn’t make you uncomfortable - you could be with her for an entire day and still like her company. Like your favorite song, or a really good book.

When she goes to the Atqueen forest to play with the orphans, she lets the children tug at her ribbons even if they get crumpled. She gives the flightless children rides on her back, and teaches those who can fly how to do somersaults in the sky and how to carry others, so that everyone can fly together.

It might be the sensitivity of a kioka, how she’s able to see if there are tears that are not yet out of your eyes and how she would press her face into the crook of your neck and breathe warmly on your skin. And how she is able to speak wordlessly and how she does it so kindly and gently and softly.

When she loves she loves dearly, and when she laughs she laughs so everyone can laugh with her. She loves rainbows and believes in miracles, because to her the entire world and every living, breathing thing is a miracle. She always hopes for the best even if she doesn’t always get it; and she is the warmth of all those around her, like the morning sun glowing behind your curtains.
