Starship Captain

The stars, they have become my home
To me and those that sail with me
I find I can no longer see the star that once
Represented my home, now my place
Is here, on this bridge and in this time
To fight and love and live and die
Never seeing what is left of those I left behind
My family is here now, and forever
More I will be father to them all
They are my friends, my brothers and my sisters
And yes, my children, too
But everything has a price
And mine is knowing those that die
Do so through my fault alone
And only mine, by my command
