Vintage Sailor

The sea is wide and deep and free
And on the days I sail her
I know that it may lend me life
But it can also take it
The sea is mistress to me
The salty air a stinging balm
To soothe my cuts even as it forms them
You can keep your towns, your cities
All I ever need is here
A ship to steer me through the waves
And sails to guide my path, the stars
Above me and my faith
I travel that which has been sailed
Many times before, and yet
Each journey is a new beginning
