Chickadeedeedee! Chickadeedeedeee! I woke up sleepily, as I let out a long yawn. I crept out of my bed and looked out the window. No birds in sight. Usually, the robin that came to my house every year to sing at 6:00 in the morning would wake me up, but this time, it wasn't. I opened the door and watched as my mom walked out of her and my dad's room. I said groggily, "Morning." then began to walk downstairs. My sister sat on the couch, drawing. I looked outside to see two chickadees playing around on my neighbor's tree. I smiled, then sat down and curled up, nearly forcing myself not to go back to sleep.
I ran upstairs and opened the door to my parent's room. My dad was up now, so I could go look out their window to see if the chickadee's were working on my nest. Surely they had worked a bit more, for a new clumb of chunky sawdust littered the ground around my mom's daffodils and other flowers. The pair sat up in the tree fluffing themselves. They were so adorable, all fluffy like that. One flew down and stuck it's head into the hole, wiggling around, only the tip of it's tail sticking out. The other watched me. They were so used to us watching them, they didn't seem to mind us watching anymore. Just as long as you didn't bang on the window or made sudden movements. I didn't want to scare them away from here, so I sat on the bench-like ledge at the windowsill. The bird in the whole wiggled some more, and then finally, it managed to turn around in the hole and fly out. It spat out the pieces of wood on the ground, then flew up to a branch so it's mate could dig some more. I sat there for a few more minutes, then went back downstairs.
