Please, please, please help me! I don't know what kind of writing I should do! Intense and mysterious, kind of like a horror, or a story about finding yourself and family. Please read my story "Pictures of You" (just a part is alright, its extremely long) and "A Moment's Past". Please give me your opinion, which one comes out better? And although I do know it is up to me, I will not go totally on your opinion, I just need a little push in the right direction. I am begging you! And "A Moment's Past" is very short, but keep in mind its not the story I am talking about, but the mood and writing. Which one draws you in more? Which one do I seem more talented at? Please, I will get on my knees, this has been kicking me to the curb for months and months, and I swear, my sanity is at risk here, people!!! I feel like I'm choosing between two incredible and gorgeous guys!

God bless anyone who responds to this. I am mentally sending you a million dollars!

Well, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm better at the "family/finding yourself" stuff, when I listen to songs like "Pictures of you" by the Last Goodnight or Lifehouse. But I also love  writing this deep, darkness too. Which one do you prefer?

(And gladly mentally hands back 1 million dollars) ;)

P.S: this is not about what kind of story you like better. I'm asking everyone which one comes out better when I write it.

i just didn't want people to get confused :)

I need your advice, everyone. Listen, I am currently writing this novel, and I am just getting deep in it so it is finally getting decent. (its not that good, but it is extremely common that a first novel is always bad) But all the time, I keep getting these other story ideas, that I just can't get out of my head. I can't abandon the one I'm writing, because I love it way too much, but the other story may sound even better! Please give me advice, what should I do?

P.S.- These new ideas I have cannot fit into my current story. Believe me, they can't

I'll look at your work in a moment, but here is some advice I'll offer first:

If you love writing, go for it.  It doesn't matter what the genre, the talent level, or anything like that.  Just go for it.  If you get another idea for a story, write it.  It often helps me just to get it out of my head, even if I never finish.  Writing is something that takes practive, and each little bit helps you more.  So just write, if only for your sanity.  :P

Yeah! I've read some of your stories, and you're really pretty good. You shouldn't give up because of one story you can't complete! I'm totally on board with lola.

You should never give up something that you love or you are good at. Even if you're writing isn't perfect yet, you shouldn't give up on it. So, you're not as good as some other authors out there. Who cares? You'll get to that level if you keep on writing. Even if you aren't going to end up being an author and you're stuck with some other job or whatever the scenario, you shouldn't stop doing the thing you like doing. To me, after reading your stuff, you have some talent. Don't throw it away, please. ^^ It's kind of like me and music: I'll compose something. I'll get tired of it. There'll be days where I can't play well and the notes don't have that pretty ring I like... I'll take a break and do other things and then come back to it with a fresh brain. ^^

As for what story I like best... Well, that doesn't matter. Choose the story you have the most inspiration for, or the one you personally like the most and work mostly on that one without giving up on the others. That's my little piece of advice for you.
