The Lunar Eclipse
I stepped outside,
The cold scene of white snow greeting my booted feet.
There was an oddly serene feeling about it,
Perhaps the pearly white glare from the ebony stained sky.
My blue eyes flickered up to stare at it,
The event had started.
With careful grace,
The darkness began to slowly engulf the moon.
My stomach wrenched at watching it helplessly die,
But I could do little more than just watch.
Lapping black swirls worked on the white ob
ject,
Soon leaving it half gone.
I sighed through my nose,
Watching with total helplessness.
In little time nothing more than a empty void was left,
The beautiful presence of what used to be gone.
