As the sun started to rise cries of sadness filled the cool morning air. My light brown feathers rustled in the fresh breeze, and I looked around curiously. “Hello?” I asked, searching for who was making the horrible cries. I flew above the trees, and looked down. I saw a brown splotch in a nearby tree, I started heading down towards the foliage . A ginger Easero was crying in the bottom of an abandoned nest. A few other broken eggs lay next to the chick. I nuzzled my beak next to the bird , and wiped off it’s face. I put him underneath my wing, not knowing what to do. I had never had children before, and wasn’t very experienced. I had trouble getting down, for I only had one wing to fly with. I finally got down, and walked through the deep woods. The baby cried many times, but I hushed him down by smoothing his damp feathers with my beak. I soon saw my owner , and set the chick at her feet. She reached down and smiled at the Easero. “Buthaynah! You found this little baby?” She asked smiling at me. I made a purring sound, as if saying “Yes, I found him in a tree.” “Oh! He’s so cute! I cant believe he’s still alive. We better head inside before he gets even more sick.” I nodded in approval, and walked inside.
This is a short story I wrote about how Buthaynah, my Uilus found a ginger Easero. I'd like opinions, criticism, and any other comments, please!
