In poetry I often find
It hard to keep a beat and rhyme
After I write I'll often see
What awkward lines came to be
There is a curse on my pen
If I get it off, maybe then
Will the words I write be properly fitting
In whatever write, maybe they'll do my bidding
Oh, the wordplay is hard to do as well
(just from this poem you can probably tell
how horrible my poetry tends to be)
I wish poetry were easier on me
I have a habit that's increasing with time:
Using words that can't be rhymed
Words so annoying, words like "Orange"
...See, now I'm stuck!
It's so hard to say perfectly
What image is in my head exactly
Perhaps this should be a sign to me:
Never major in poetry
