It all started on the first day of school at my new school.
My name is Clawdina. I have humans for parents, a griffin for a sister, and a
dog for a pet. To you, that might sound awesome, but trust me, it isn’t. My
school is called ‘Dragon Academy.’ My parents think ‘dragon’ means ‘dinosaur
with wings,’ I honestly don’t think that. I mean, really, how easy is it to
picture a T-Rex with wings? My parents are simply crazy. Plus they’re not really my parents. They’re my
foster parents. I’ve never met my real parents.
When I got to school, I parked my bike somewhere that no one
could find it, and walked to the front of the building. There I saw a small
crest on the door, and I saw a ‘D’ and an ‘A.’ It stood for ‘Dragon Academy.’ I
took a deep, and walked in. “Whoa!” That was my immediate thought. There were
all kinds of mythical animals. “Wait, hold on a second” I thought to myself.
Mythical animals, why are there mythical animals…? Wait… ‘Dragon Academy,’ typical… Whatever, I don’t really mind. All the
animals, creatures, and teachers were all staring at me. I looked at myself,
thought something, and I turned into a gray wolf with dark reptilian wings.
They all continued their previous situations.
I have to start at 1st
period, my least favorite subject, financial arts. I walk in and run into a
super cute brown wolf with wings like mine, only furrier. I was surprised that
he actually talked to me. He said “Sorry that was my fault. I wasn’t watching
where I was prowling. What’s your name? My human name is Joseph, but my real
name is Rakito. “
Of course I had to reply. So I said “My name is Clawdina.
It’s both my human name and my real name.” I felt my face burn, like it was on
fire. I must have been blushing really bad, because Rakito started to blush,
too.
“Rakito, Come on!” A girly voice said. “We’re gonna be
L-A-T-E!”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m coming! Bye, Clawdina! See you later!”
Yeah, right. Like a cute wolf would actually catch up with
me later. Anyways, those Banshees would probably scream him to death if he
stayed with them to long. Financial arts lasted forever. At least we had about
10 minutes to get from class to class. It turned out I ran into him… again.
This time I was the one to say sorry first. We walked to class together, and
told each other about one another on the way to class.
During study hall, which is 8th period, we went
to the library for a history project which is the history of Yuniko. Yuniko is
an island that was thought to have disappeared of the face of the earth. I was
happy that Rakito and I could work together. We were walking around; when I saw
a big, dusty, and old-looking book lying on the floor like it had fallen off
the highest shelf. I picked it up with my teeth, and without slobbering on it,
I put it on the closest table, and open the book. I start to turn the ti
tle
page then I got tackled by Rakito who apparently didn’t care much about a
‘personal bubble.’
“What are you
doin’?” he says, rather loudly, and looks at the book “You probably don’t wanna
open that…” His voice trails off.
“Why, exactly, do you
not want me to open the book” I
reply, in a whisper.
“Uh… No comment! Change of subject!” He says in a strange
way.
"Just tell me." I growl lowly to Rakito who so far doesn't seem to mind my stubborn attitude.
