Prolog
Twenty- One Years Ago:
It was a Dark and stormy night, thunder crackling high above the roof tops, and lightning brightening all it touched, A small village lay nestled against a forest, the streets silent, The power had gone out so all houses, but one, was pitch black, that one house was lit by the light of several well placed oil lamps and candles, inside, a womans terrible screams of agony came from the bedroom of which the door was closed, outside the door was the very much worried husband, a man of tall stature, roughly six feet in height, weighing about one twenty, with dark battle worn skin, his bright emerald eyes kept moving from under hair of raven black to look upon the bedroom door hoping and praying that things went well, he was a proud man because of his status, but still he loved his wife and soon to be born child, he did not care what the gender was as long as both lived through it and were happy and healthy, still he paced, worry etched his battle worn face until that bedroom door creaked open and he whirled around to rest eyes upon the young mid-wife whom aided his wife "well?" he asked almost afraid of the answer to come, the woman smiled at him. "you have a healthy baby girl, and both mother and child are well, they are resting but you may see them if you so wish to." she the moved with her arms full of dirty linen to go and burn the bloody things as she'd been instructed due to the new mothers supersticious beliefs. The husband and new father moved into the room and looked upon his wife with tender eyes as she held and cooed to their new born daughter who lay wraped in a warm blanket in her mothers arms, he moved closer and sat on the chair near the bed and the other uncovered the child so that he may inspect the girl with out the hasle of the blanket, the child already had a full head of golden hair, her skin flawless, not a mark except for that upon the left side of her chest, a symbol that was shapped much like a pheonix, a birthmark as it were, and he only smiled taking her into his arms now to let the mother rest as he wraped his daughter gently in the blanket again and she opened her eyes to gaze up upon her father for the first time, her eyes bright gold in color like her hair as she cooed and took hold of her fathers finger in the way most babies did, her grip strong for a baby but he did not care, he loved her all the same, then he looked to his wife. "What shall we name our beautiful daughter my love?" he would say and she turned to him opening her eyes. "It shoud be a name that fits to her beauty, let us call her.....Lily." she said and he nodded in agreement."A beautiful name....For a beautiful daughter." he answered smiling.
Twenty-One Years Later:
It was a beautiful evening, the full moon shining over head in a sky of velvet black, with stars strewn across it like many billiant diamonds, in that same small quiet village was a small tavern, and in this tavern worked the ever more beautiful Lily, her hair now grown to her ankles as it shown in the light like a golden coin, golden eyes warm and friendly as she greeted the customers with a warm smile and a warm heart, yes indeed, she worked here in this beautiful rustic tavern, though she even dressed the part of being an old tavern wench from the late seventeen to early eightteen hundreds, the only thing that was different from the rest of the tavern was a golden dragon above the kitchen door of which had ruby eyes ever watchful of the tavern and all within it, though she was warm with the people that came and went from here they all shyed from her, she did not know why, but soon.....Soon she would know why, and then.....Only then....Would her Quest begin.
