Phaeda Bio Scanner bug?

I'm not sure if this had been pointed out before, or if it's happening to anyone else but... I go out to buy pets from rancher shops for the bio scanner. When I DO try to scan them, it tells me "rnScan Failed: Oh my, I see you have already scanned this pet. It does not add to my data if you scan the same pet twice. In fact, it skews the data greatly. Please find a pet that you have not scanned yet and return. " These pets are just bought and of a color I haven't scanned before. Is this supposed to happen or something, or is it just a glitch?

It's just that the previous owner of the pet already scanned it before putting it up for sale

Yes, what Rept said.
It happened to a lot of people already.

I would like to believe that scans are locked with the pet IDs.

They are, Jenny, because when you go to Scan a specific pet, their ID number appears in the URL. This means that (most likely) they are marked in the database as already being scanned, which is why Morphing, Beaning, or Dying them will not make them able to be scanned again, even if you haven't scanned that type yet.
