I think I have an idea which might help stop such happenings : Just below the Custom Deion of every Creatu in a user's profile, there could be an option 'Lock Creatu', or something like that. It is a bit like selecting and unselecting Creatu, but has a different use. If your Creatu is unselected, you can't play most of the games, swim in the spring, etc., right? Well, this option restricts you from releasing your Creatu into the wild! If you click this option, it can say 'Your Creatu has been locked. You cannot release this Creatu into the wild, unless you unlock it.' And then, if you try to release it, it can say 'This Creatu is in Locked mode. You cannot release this Creatu, unless you unlock it.' This can help people protect their Creatus, even if it asks if they're sure they want to release the Creatu. Some people might not check if it is that Creatu they want to get rid of. Or something else can happen, like their cousins, or anyone releases a valuable Creatu into the forest. So how's this idea? Please do feel free to post what you think :)

I love this idea! Once I almost released my black kioka! Actually I clicked Yes, release this pet. And I nearly had a heartattack! But I clicked on somthing else to stop my computer from loading that command. xD That would have sucked!

Hear, hear. :] I know a few people who've nearly released their most treasured pets... This would be a good feature for V2. The idea isn't affronting in any way and wouldn't cause problems. Lock, unlock. Simple. o3o I support this idea. ;o

Locking a creatu in place would be fantastic. Then I'd stop worrying about abandoning a creatu in the forest. lol

I have critisism, Wolf. This is a thing that you can apply to all of you creatu yes? Locking certain ones you never want to loose. There is one flaw with this though, the information that tells whether a each creatu be loacked or unlocked will be recorded for all creatu am I right? This will add extra data to go for each creatu and the database will have to record more information, creating more risks of glitches. Sacrifice everyone's enjoyment for a few people who just might have an accident?

Disagree, in the second step of foresting the creatu, theres a yes/no link.

Well, as the saying goes "there are no free lunches in the world, everything comes with a price" so yes, it is a safe idea, especially for me cos everytime i go to the forest, i nearly have a heartattack when i have to release a certain creatu. But with this feature, comes a lot of hard work but it is good for the site so, yes i would support it and if i knew a GLITCH about how to do it, then I'd love to help ( but i have NO idea how) I'm not saying that I'd like to stress the staff for this, but it is a helpful tool so i would support the idea. Nice one Wolfwinx O_O

I agree with Roxas. Just be careful 'kay? This system is just like locking the stocks to never decrease and make you loose money.

Except one would result in economic benefit and the other would simply result in not accidently getting rid of your creatu. Even though my programming knowledge isn't very extensive, I would guess that implementing this would just a matter of inserting a boolean to determine whether a creatu is locked or not. Then when abandoning a creatu it would only list your creatu whose "locked" boolean is false or whatever. I'm not sure how feasible it is to think that implementing this simple safeguard could cause a system meltdown.

Thank you for your complements guys :) Ping: That's true. I did think about that. But it may help staff. They might not have to worry about searching for lost Creatu. Roxy: But now, if you choose not to adopt a Creatu from the forest, it'll be removed from the database. This means that if you accidentally release a Creatu, and if the finder chooses not to adopt it by accident or because he/she doesn't know its value, its gone forever. So what can the owner do? Nothing.

Yes that what Ping had been saying, try to be more careful with releasing pets. Reread the step 2 on yes/no link, you be safe then. I dont see the point locking creatus up.

But what if a user has to leave the computer for sometime, and someone of his/her releases a valuable creatu into the wild? What can be done? And, locking Creatus are only for the profile creatus. So all the creatus on Res don't have to have additional data in the database.

Wolfwinx, if its lockable, is unlockable.
No point in that, and who will him/her have access to the com? And who will forest somebody's elses creatu?

Raxas has a point. If someone hacks into your account, they can just unlock the creatu and forest it. Just don't tell anyone your password and be careful when in the forest, 'kay?
