I was mulling over this idea while the SB was discussing how inactive accounts might be cleared out in order to release all those pet names hung up. Some were in support of that and others wouldn't like the idea of returning to a non-existant account.
Another site I play has a cash-only "item" that locks your account if you decide to leave for a long time. A feature like that would be a nice Credit feature, and it would prevent an account being deleted if the person planned on coming back. The account deletion feature/team would merely pass over a locked account, leaving it be.
This feature i'm talking about had another side too, it prevented all access to the account, in order to prevent hacking. If a person other than the owner tried to say, destroy or transfer the items or pets, it simply wouldn't work. Rescreatu doesn't have a problem with hacking right now, but i think it's safe to say that the longer a petsite is online, the more account hacking will happen. Obviously someone would want your Albino Omni as the years pass and such things only become more rare.
I think it could be acheived by a locking passcode, like a password, but as a second wall of security. Sure they figured out your password, but now it would be another hurdle for a hacker.
Does this sound like something possible to implement, and do you like it or think it's not needed? I suggest it to be a credit shop feature, something to bring revenue to rescreatu aswell.
