This may not be something that most people care too much about, but is personally a heavy issue for me, and I assume possibly some others.
I’ve been playing res for a long time, before I came out as trans and started transitioning. I signed up for this site as “female” but I haven’t identified, lived, or presented as female in almost a decade.
Seeing myself referred to as “female” on my profile, seeing a female avatar, and the idea other players assuming i’m a girl/woman due to not being able to change this is distressing to me, but I don’t want to abandon this site again. And I can’t make a new account because I already have this one, and I don’t want to lose my pets/trophies/avatars/ect.
I’ll admit I don’t know the work that would go into something like this, but on most other sites I’m on you can change your gender from your settings, and anything related (profile, avatar, ect) changes along with that.
I feel like not having that option is a rough patch on my experience on the site, and a bit of an oversight in site design.
