I had this on my Idea: Useless Shops thread for a bit but decided that it could use its own thread.
What if, similar to the Egg Market, there was an actual page where users could sell their daily hatches?
People could see how much other users are selling their hatches for, choose how many of their hatches they would like to sell, what price they want to sell each hatch for (including for certain types of eggs, such as users who want to give the hatches free to CS creatu but charge for non-CS), whether or not they would like this to repeat daily, and/or for how long they would like to sell their hatches (with probably 30 days being the max to ensure that hatches are being sold by active users).
Filters could be included for the price of hatches (Free, 1-50k, 51k-100k, 101-150k, 151k-200k, 201k+) and the type of creatu the user is willing to hatch (Any, CS Only, Seasonal Only, All Planet, etc.).
The two main issues that I see with this are accessing the pets from the hatches one has purchased and the idea that one person may buy all the hatches when they go up for sale each day.
The first issue could be addressed by creating a space accessible from the Hatch Market page where a user could view the results of all of the hatches that they have purchased. It would function similarly to the hatchery page in that the user would be able to view the pets, name them, or release them, and they will be auto-released after 15 days. The user's hatch page would not be accessible to the person who sold the hatches through the Hatch Market. The hatches would also not show up in the seller's main hatchery.
I imagine the hatch page looking something like the Global Rancher Log. Users would be able to choose how many pets to see on the page as well as filter by creatu species, color, mutant status, and age. Information would be shown for the date of the hatch, the image of the creatu, its species and color, mutant status, how many days until it is released (with three or less days being red and bolded), and a space to name the pet.
The solution for the second issue is quite simple. Instead of the repeated hatch sales going up for sale at reset every day, the new listing would go up at the same time of day as when the user originally clicked the button to sell the hatches. For example, if I decided to sell my hatches for a week and clicked the button to sell them at 1:32 pm Res time, each day's new hatch listing would go up at 1:32 pm Res time for the next seven days. This would make sure that hatches go up for sale throughout the day and prevent one user from buying all of them.
To those concerned that this would ruin the hatch market on the chat, I personally don't see this happening. Like the Egg Market, this would be a COMPLETELY OPTIONAL feature. Users would still be able to sell their hatches through the chat instead of the Hatch Market.
What if one user goes through and buys all the hatches on the market? There could be a limit in place for how many hatches a user could buy per day through the Hatch Market. 15 is the greatest number that I can see, but I'll leave that up to staff if they decide to implement this feature. Users would still be able to buy hatches from users selling them in the chat after reaching the Hatch Market daily limit.
While their hatches are up for sale on the hatch market, users will not be able to use their daily hatches. Their main hatchery page will show that they have 0 hatches remaining for the day. Users will get an alert and receive tu once someone purchases their hatches.
