Making pet names available

Normal User Posts: 159	This may have already been suggested, but I think it would be nice if the names of the pets that have been dead for a very long time and the names of pets that belong to permanently banned accounts were made available again. Also, this just occured to me; when pets are released into the forest, their name could also be reset. Then, when a creatu is found in the forest, it can be re-named by whoever found it. If that makes sense. For example, if I just released chucknorris652571 the sepia veram into the forest, the name chucknorris652571 would become available again. Then, if someone found him in the forest, they would just find a male sepia veram and could give him a new name. It might make forest-exploring boring, but it has its upsides.

Normal User Posts: 1,679	I think that names will be recycled in the future after they have been dead for a long amount of time. Once you can search for pets in the forest, there is already a feature kind of like that. When you find a pet, you have the option to either adopt it or not. If you choose not to adopt it, the name is recycled. I think I like this better than the name automatically disappearing and you being able to rename it. That would be like getting extra hatches, plus I like being able to find names in the forest. Click for Graphic Commissions

I also think death should be turned back on so that some names I want on accounts where people are never active will die and be recycled into the game. ^_^; greedy Lol, if anything, I just want names to be cleared. I know Pat said it was going to happen, but that was only once, and I haven't heard much more about it.

Normal User Posts: 167	There's an absolute, terrible need for pets on unactive accounts and banned user accounts to be cleared, at least periodically. I also feel like the Forest should be cleared periodically, so that names don't accumulate there and become unattainable under the weight of all the "asjd123545" pets that are released there as well. check out my art at my -->photoBucket

Normal User Posts: 1,443	There used to be a feature where, if a pet was found in the forest by a user and not adopted, that pet and name would be deleted. However, for some reason, that feature is not turned on in V2 yet, it would help clear out the forest greatly.

Normal User Posts: 1,443	The feature where pets that are found and not claimed right away when they are found are deleted was a great way to clear bad names from the forest. That's what needs to be returned, but it would cause unhappiness amongst the public if they lost a good pet in the 5th search glitch. This means that that glitch would need to be fixed first.

Normal User Posts: 197	I agree, they should be recycled. An other reason is, say, what if I found a rare creatu in the forest, say a blonde zenirex, and it's name was something like, 137243624? Then if I adopted it, no one would want to buy it from my rancher. So that would be a good reson for names to be recycled. And plus, what it the piont of keeping the name of a pet from a perenantly banned user? Also, what about permanantly banned users' user names? Shouldn't those be recycled too?
