Monthly Achros - Come on, now...

So, I'm starting to get really miffed about monthly achros.
Sometimes they come out on the 1st. Sometimes the 14th. Sometimes never.
I feel like I'm never going to get the opportunity to hatch an achro Jahra. The last month they were in the CS, monthly achros never came out. Now, after a year of waiting for Jahras to reappear in the CS, it's the 17th, and achros are nowhere to be found.



I think that new achro pets for the month should be announced at the very beginning of each month so that users have an expected time period in which to hatch these rare creatu. I honestly don't see how it can be that difficult to do coding-wise. It's one of the few consistent monthly events that keeps the site fresh. So why doesn't it happen?

The Jahra has just been completed and is now awaiting release. I understand you are frustrated with the delay of releases but it is something beyond our control at this point. When it is possible to get achros out at the beginning of the month, every effort possible is made to make that happen. Sometimes it is simply not possible, though.

You can always speed the process along by doing it yourself, without pay and meet the standard quality the site has set. ;)

The achro Jahra appeared on the species info page almost a year ago when Jahras were last in the CS shop and wasn't released then. I would've thought by now that it was prepared. It's also been the only achro CS pet that appeared on the info page and wasn't released during its month. I don't know - just very frustrating for me and other users as well, and I figured something should be said about it.

Seeing as this is a site that gives almost all of its services for free, I think you're acting abhorantly.  The coders and artists have a lot to do, and a year may not seem like very much but they all have lives outside of this site.  It might be something to remember.  I agree with Outsane's setiments on this matter whole heartedly and overall don't support.

I agree we shouldn't rush Staff when the artwork HASN'T been made yet. I understand the need for patience and the fact that they have a lot more to do and can't always keep up with the workload.

However Gany's point is legitimate. The Achro Jahra has been around for a very long time artwork-wise, but unlike other pets that can be beaned, Achro Jahra's existence is at the mercy of when someone decides to turn on the chance.

As Sagi said, the site is free, but Jahra are paid for. People expect to be able to have the opportunity to hatch all the colors of what they paid for. Which is why Achro's have always been released in line with CS.

This also poses an interesting question as far as "Res is free". Broken has already confirmed Premium accounts. Which means that argument becomes invalid when some users become paying customers and expect quality service of the site.

I'm not a CM. I'm still not familiar with anything they do. But to me, to change the Achro's each month, provided the art is ready, seems like a 10-minute task and could be done by anyone who's explained how to do it and given access, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Please be patient with us. We are in the process of making sure we get things like achros and events released on time.

Quite frankly, as a digital artist that works full-time in content management for the website of a multi-billion-dollar company, I'd be more than happy to devote a little bit of free time to help with not only preparing the art for achromatic pets but also ensuring they hit the site - without pay, even. Of course, I don't know how plausible this is, seeing as I am not a dedicated staff member, but I'm just trying to make the point that I am all for helping this site grow and keeping its users happy. I understand what it takes, and I wouldn't have posted about this if I didn't think it was a legitimate issue and achievable fix. Thank you all for your responses! :)

Those who assume it is a quick process to "turn on" the achro feature of hatchable pets, you're right. However, we only have one person with the power to do that. If that person is busy with other things, we are stuck waiting too. Changes are being made that will hopefully give this ability over to someone else on staff who is active on a more regular basis but until then, our hands are tied.
