Normal User Posts: 878	How about a button that says who has the creatu with that name? It's a pain in the butt to look for the name when theirs a chance that every user has it... -_- Just like, display the username...

Staff has compromised on this by giving you a Rancher search to see if the name you want is being sold, and honestly the point of name searching is to show you actually are willing to put effort to getting the name, either by searching yourself, or paying the fee of a name searcher. You may want to read these before posting suggestions. And also, there is a very good reason behind the non-implementation of a direct name search: Rescreatu is supposed to be challenging and it requires your own personal motivation to achieve your goals. Aspects like these on the site make it fun and enjoyable. May I suggest hiring a name searcher or trying to find it on your own? ^.^

While it's a consideration to just make it a simple search, I think it won't be implemented due to the reasons stated by the users above. We can change the topic of this thread a little to keep it alive, though! We should talk about name searching/searchers. Anyone with experience doing this often would be very helpful. In what ways could we make name searching into an actual activity? From my experience. I always find it annoying trying to find the names that start with the name letter as the name I'm looking for. Maybe we could give search results pages links that are the letter of the alphabet that lead you to pets starting with the letter you are looking for. Any other thoughts or ideas?

Normal User Posts: 4,744	Having an option to take dead pets out of the search would be nice. In some cases there are more dead pets than there are alive, making it super hard and tedious to find the name you're looking for.

Normal User Posts: 3,426	Adding onto what Mega is saying, it'd be nice to be able to choose multiple areas to search in. I've wanted this for just searching for pets in general as it's just easier for comparison and searching. If I'm looking for a bino Ardur for Kir, I could search for them in the Graveyard, Showrooms, Ranchers, and Auctions and look in the places people are selling from/are most likely to sell from, and I can also compare if a person has multiples because those people are usually more likely to sell. Normal User Posts: 777	Agreed with those two. Being able to search multple categories at once would really help. Being able to take out the graveyard but search the others all at once would probably more than half the creatu to look through

Administrator Posts: 339	Thanks for the continued suggestions! These are all great ideas and I think they would greatly help the usability of the search feature in general. It's been known for a while now that we definitely need them. Names and name searching are such odd markets. I'd really like to have more data to help determine what we can do to influence these aspects more positively (so that they're more fun!). What would be something? An estimated value range on certain name subjects (characters, real words, etc.)? A forum section just for name requests/wants? Just throwing some initial thoughts out there. Bounce back! ;)

Normal User Posts: 878	How about GETTING RID OF BANNED ACCOUNT PETS for all the pet searches? I mean, there's no point in looking at the banned people's pets because you're never going to get them!

Normal User Posts: 4,093	Rin, the staff would have to do that manually. There's no big "Delete all banned accounts' pets" button, and there are lots of pets on banned accounts. I talked to a staff once and they said they do clear the names, but only occasionally when they have lots of time. Be patient, they're people too. Crow, a forum just for that is a neat idea. I think posts for name searches get drowned out a lot, both on the SB and in forums. If people saw how many users actually need names searched, it would open up the business more-- and users who need names found would have a much better chance of finding it.
