after reading Rams post about the stock market and the hopes of curing res economy, one of the things I can think of is to sell pets in an NPC shop. This will drastically decrease the price of pets, and if ranchers are saying that it's "unfair" that they will get competition, no worries, rarer creatu (higher colors) will rarely appear. There should also be an option of selling creatu right away, but only get half of the price of the original shop price. Price suggestions here:
Above 1% (changes of appearing 79.99%) Natural 1,000 Sepia 5,000 Cream 10,000 Black 15,000 Ginger 100,000 Silver 2,000,000 Blonde 6,000,000 Calico 10,000,000 Achro 15,000,000 Albino 20,000,000
Below 1% (chances of appearing 15%) Natural 1,000 Sepia 10,000 Cream 15,000 Black 20,000 Ginger 200,000 Silver 3,000,000 Blonde 7,000,000 Calico 15,000,000 Achro 20,000,000 Albino 25,000,000
Seasonal (chances of appearing 5%) Natural 750,000 Sepia 850,000 Cream 1,000,000 Black 2,000,000 Ginger 3,500,000 Silver 7,000,000 Blonde 15,000,000 Calico 20,000,000 Achro 25,000,000 Albino 30,000,000
CS (chances of appearing 0.01%) Natural 3,000,000 Black 125,000,000 Albino 500,000,000 Wyrae : 125,000,000 for all colors
The chances of certain colors appearing are the same as hatchery percentages

Support! this would be great for those doing kir's quest and creatu collections (unless they want to hatch them all themselves). although it means hatching a colour isn't quite as exciting. then again people bean pets all the time, what's the difference? I'm curious though, how will naming work?

You name it after buying the creatu, or a system created name of letters. Although i'd prefer the first option.

No support. This goes against what basically drives Res and makes it unique: hatching. The hatch color percentages were implemented to keep a certain amount of colors in circulation. Just because some pets are more expensive doesn't make that a bad thing? Rarity isn't something to complain about.
Res's economy problems is due to a lack of TU circulation. The rich stay rich and the poor stay poor. It's hard to buy and sell these days because 1. Not many users play anymore and 2. There isn't a lot of incentive to buy/sell because users already have what they want. So they sit and hoard TU and don't spend it.
The problem isn't with the pets.

However this is one way of getting rid of some of the circulating tu. I never said anything about getting rid of hatching. Can res not have both hatching and buying features?

But we don't...want to get rid of what little TU is circulating???
The problem with Res's economy is that TU ISN'T circulating. Like I said, users get online and hoard TU. Then they keep it because there's no incentive to buy anywhere. Res is kind of stagnant right now due to a lack of introducing new things to the site. People are bored. That's why TU isn't circulating. Most people have the pets and the names and the clothes that they already want. ;o
Buying pets from an NPC when the basis of Res stands on hatching is ridiculous. We don't need more pets in circulation--we already have way too many, most of which are junk pets floating around in abandoned rancher shops.
I'm not sure what problem this would fix, but yeah, like I said, no support. It doesn't make sense. :<

I would support this idea is the sell prices were lower tbh ;v; Selling pets to other users helps tu circulate, like Arrow mentioned. If we have a feature where we can simply sell pets to NPCs for a similar, if not the same price, there would be no circulation as the desire to sell to other users would be nil.
A quick sell perhaps might be a nice idea, where the pet could be sold for half it's initial value. That way, there's always that will to sell to other users if users ever want more tu for their pets.
I like the concept of this idea, but don't feel that it could be overly effective given we can already sell/trade off pets rather easily at the moment 8c

No way. No support whatsoever. Ranchers already get guff over prices, and tere's only one quest that calls for pets compared to the twenty-some that call for merchant wares. if people could buy from npcs for Kir, rancher sales would plummet even farther.
If you want Tu to circulate, talk to the merchants. They're the one sitting on giant piles of Tu and never spending any of it. Ranchers are scrambling as it is.
