Feel free to move this thread if I posted it in the wrong place.
I realize how the Valentines' cards have a rather offensive deion. It goes something like this:
Oh my, you lucky dog. It looks like someone accepted your offer. They even sent a card to celebrate the occasion.
I find the underlined part rather offensive and I'm not sure if this is considered appropriate ? xD
May I suggest that this line be rephrased? ._.

I don't really see why its offensive, is it because you think it implies the word for a female dog?? :S peraonaly I can't see anything wrong with it :P

I don't see anything offensive either. It's like the issue with the term "Ginger" as a pet color. Some people might find it offensive because of how their peers use it, but it's really not.

However personally I say "Lucky Duck". :P

I find it a bit offensive too. I'm not sure if it's just because the use of 'dog', but it just seems that maybe those words weren't the best ones to put there. But if it's not changed, I'm fine with that. :]

Edit: Typos. :x

"You lucky dog" is just an ex
pression. It's an older way of saying "You lucky person."

Found on net to explain:
To call someone a "lucky dog" is kind of backhanded congratualtions - you're happy for them, but slightly jealous.

@crow: ah, I see.
Maybe it's because I'm too used to hearing the word dog be associated with that swear word. But interesting find, crow xD
I agree with Clouding ; 'you lucky duck' sounds more appropriate, but I wouldn't mind it staying the same way. Not exactly the best choice of words :I

Trust me, the use of the word "dog" has no association with that "other" word whatsoever. What Crow said nails it.

I would interpret 'you lucky dog' as 'oh you're lucky someone sent you a card. Who guessed it? Someone loves you you ugly bugger' xD

It should be 'you lucky zenirix' because dogs don't exist in the rescreatu worlds

Actually, dogs exist on Rescreatu. Many animals do, including fish, birds, dogs, cats, chickens, etc. The difference is that Creatu are closer to humans and can speak and "reason" (for lack of a better term) while animals are just animals.

This is an extremely old ex
pression, you find it a lot in old movies and shows you've probably never seen.
Personally I think society today just likes to take EVERYTHING as offensive, I see nothing wrong with that statement.
