If warning for over-advertising by 4 minutes is a thing you want to do,
might I suggest that the entire mod team be replaced with robot / codes.

"the rules do specifically say to keep ads 30 minutes apart,
there's no further discussion about it, it's the rules
"

Why stop at warning people for being 4 minutes early.
What if people are 3 minutes early?
Or worse, 2 seconds too early.
God forbid that happen.

It'll save manpower.
And more people will buy CP because there won't be mods to sell any.
I was told to bring it to suggestions so here you go. Enjoy!

For the stupidly short time I was in training

( Decided to leave because I felt I didn't have enough time and because of work/ life I often had to use my phone to play Res, which isn't great for modding, though ive now seen alot of staff members talking about how their currently on their phone or mobile like device sooo... :P )

on my phone writing this, sorry in advance ^^"

I was taught that a few minuets lee-way is perfectly fine

but I guess what a few minuets is is subjective.

KittyKat is still relatively new (I guess) and may may have be taught differently to me :/

There are so many things people could say in the Sb that getting rid of the mods wont work a code cant cover everything

Though maybe res should have a counter thinggy, some kind of floating window timer thinggy that you can set using drop down menus, you could select Advertised, when it will then it will count down 30minuets or an egg that you are incubating,

idk

...

thinggy

some people seem to find it's too difficult to look at a clock, the clock on their laptop/ computer or find and online timer u-u

or even the clock on Res

and by "them people" I mean those who are constantly asking when they last advertised, OA by a butt-ton (like ten minuets after or something ridiculous) etc

I've often forgotten when I last advertised, happens to us all but come on repeat offenders! You have been told a bijillon times and given tips how to keep track of time.

...

oopse went off course ^^"

As for the Cp- I think its good that they get paid for their time, though I bet a lot if people would do it for free.

oh to add to that I think its good they get paid as long as they actually do something, (I know that some are busy and stuff) ^That was more towards another department but yeah.^

If it is unacceptable to advertise 4 minutes early because it is less than 30minutes,
then it is equally unacceptable to advertise 1 second too early for the same reason.

All I'm saying is that if we are to follow the rules in an uncompromising manner,
then it's not unreasonable to ask for mods that can enforce such strict regulations.

You have brought up the possibly of coding a timer of sorts that allows users to
advertise once every 30 minutes. I think this would work as an alternative to coding
something that automatically warns them for breaking the rule. It is prevention
instead of punishment. I like that and I hope it get implemented.

Uh. How would this timer / automatic warning work? Would it pick up on key words, or would it be up to the individual to be honest and say they've advertised? How would it differentiate between advertising and a post? I mean, there are ways around even a key word checker.
"Is anyone interested in an albino meiko?"
In that case, the only way to catch that would be to have "interested" as a key word. If I then said "Man, I think the subject I'm most interested in at school is science", then that would be counted as my advertisement.
Even buying / selling / bought / sold wouldn't quite work out. "The other day, my grandmother was selling cookies." Poof, advertisement gone.

It seems to work in theory, but I just really don't see how it could be implemented.

Well now. I should... Probably put something intelligent here. At some point. Eventually.
...
... Screw it. HYE. ♥

I mean the 30min rule its only so ppl dont spam with their advertising. If they advertise every 15 thats a little annoying. But 4min? xD Do mods really keep a timer like that every time someone advertisies? and tbh i dont think res needs a "timer" included. Res has a time, your pc/phone/device shows time too soo....
Just like they wont add something that says "HEY, dont forget your advent calendar! Or your spring dive!" That's something the users have to keep by themselves.

But just like that is a little too strict, i have found myself seeing ppl talking over and over, saying they are sellling stuff and asking repeatedly if nobody is interested and they just keep at it for a while. And i just sit there waiting for a mod to appear and say something, instead of saying it myself cause i dont wanna get a warning for mini-modding lol.

The moderator team has my go ahead to give a five minute grace period if they want to.  This has always been the case.  But whether or not a moderator has to is up to them.

It's the same way that a police officer writes tickets.  Most police officers will not issue tickets if the offender is going only a few miles per hour over the speed limit.  But they can, if they deem it to be necessary.  Going three, or even one, mile over the speed limit is still breaking the law.

In the same way, advertising in less than 30 minutes is against the rules of the Rescreatu shoutbox.  But just like the police officer may give a grace to those driving a few miles per hour over the speed limit, mods may give a slight grace period to those who advertise in under 30 minutes.

As always, if you have a problem with something a moderator has done, please come to me or submit a support ticket.  Staff who were not present during the situation will look it over and see if there is any unfairness from either side.

I already sent a ticket yesterday it hasn't been answered yet.

Police offices are meant to make people feel safe. If it reaches the point of which
when people feel terrorized instead of safe then something is very, very wrong.

I'm going to lock this, not to prevent discussion on the topic, but to limit the discussion to the support ticket that was opened and to discussion with the moderator team about the situation - changes do need to be made here.

Our mod team is fantastic, but they are still only human, and like all humans, flawed. The decision to allow or disallow a grace period based on the current moderator's choice was a flawed decision, and I apologize that it was not known and dealt with before now. I'm absolutely sure no harm was meant when this decision was made, more likely it was made to give our users more leniency, but it is something that is capable of producing wild inconsistency and should not have been implemented. This will be remedied ASAP.
