Idk about anyone else, but I personally am very tired of pulling magical mahina squishies from grab bags. We have every single colour of every cs and uldavian pet already and 90% of pulls are going to be like a natural jahra or something. It's true we haven't had the carnival in a while, but mahina eggs become very common during that time.
I love mahina, I have a whole collection of them. My bino is one of my favourite pets. But when the conversion rate for USD to CAD means I'm spending $60 on $40 worth of CP, and I pull an achromatic mahina instead of an achromatic cs or uldavian pet, it's really aggravating. I don't even find the wyrae as annoying because they at least can't be hatched normally, so they're a little more "special".
Mahina just don't feel like they belong in the grab bag with the other pets in there; they feel more akin to a seasonal creatu to me. I think making them a rare pull from the regular squishy bin would help lower the amount of them that are in game and make the magical grab bag pull rates feel more fair. Especially since CP costs real money. |

Fully agree! Especially with the seasonal point. When events come back, they'll be more common than seasonal pets unless egg rates are heavily throttled, but that's a different conversation lol
With Mahina being available in free events, it feels bad to pay money for these bags, only to get a handful of Mahina.

Agreed. I didn't open any bags this round, but last round I pulled at least 5 mahinas out of 15-20 bags. Two natural, two sepia and one trance I believe.
They feel more comparable to a seasonal creatu than a CS/uldavi creatu, as you said, and I don't enjoy them being present in the bags. Part of my reluctance to open bags this time around was the fear of getting flooded with mahinas like last time ;_; |

I wholeheartedly support this sentiment, I'd rather get purely CS pets over any Mahina :c they don't feel rare at all since they are findable during an event, and it's disappointing pulling them when buying bags for real money

So I think the bags are fun, but they're ruining the value of a lot of CS pets and now Mahina are basically worthless along with natural CS pets. I think the pulls of CS pets should be dramatically lowered and regular albino/calico/achro mashies added (at small increments as well), along with beans, RMPs, and name tags

In a time when everyone is feeling the pinch, it kind of puts me off paying real money for CP when Mahina are so much more comparably easy to acquire than the other CS pets. Pulling high coloured Mahina is even more infuriating that nattie or DK Mahina as well (sorry).

That's an interesting take Rozi, I don't think they're "ruining" the value of the pets but I see where you're coming from. The chances of pulling a black/bino/achro cs are supposed to be higher than hatch chances, but really, the vast majority of pulls are not going to be those pets. Imo natural cs pets have always only been worth a couple mil and it's great that they're so accessible to players without a lot of tu, especially if they're just starting out. Cluttering the pool with more items would just make people even more frustrated with the pull rates they're spending real money on, especially considering we can get those things with rk and all other magical squishies come from the bin. Adding things you can get for free to an item you have to pay for wouldn't really solve the problem, it would just make the bags feel less worth it.

Yes, Ive gotten so many mahina squish to the point that I dont even like the pet species anymore. They really don't have much value and are so disappointing to get.

My idea with the beans and RMPs is those are consumables, beans stay around 20mil regardless because they're fun to use,

The thing that gives pets value is Kir, so if he were asking for natural cs pets, that would give us somewhere to throw the excess. That said, this thread is about mahina specifically making opening bags more frustrating and not feeling like they belong there, not about the bags being bad for cs prices. ^^'

I didn't make this thread because I'm upset about the value of pets going down, I made it because I'm frustrated about spending real money on cash points and getting something from a magical grab bag I could have easily gotten for free. I feel like maybe there was a misunderstanding there xD

To disagree with and go along with the tangent lol, while yes natural CS prices have gone down, I'd prefer that they are accessible for all users now rather than just hidden behind a paywall. Are they oversatured? Yeah. I remember not being able to buy a regular black CS pet for less than 200mil, but it looks like they're sitting around 50mil now. Way cheaper, way more accessible, and perhaps a little more disappointing to obtain? Yeah, but I like being able to maybe one day have a complete collection instead of having to dish out money on eggs that would probably just give me natties anyway.
For the record, I don't think CS prices of naturals or dyes have really changed that much over the years. I've always remembered them being >10mil for natties, and that hasn't really changed a lot. It is the regular pet prices that have gone up rather than CS prices being totally to blame for just going down - because of Kir, more colors are needed. I do not want at all for regular pets to be included in the magical grab bags, because these are meant for the creatu that are purchased with real money. Do Mahina fit into the category? no, not at all, which is why I am for removing them from the grab bag pool.

I guess for me, if Mahina are pulled, what replaces them? If these bags are meant for pets only bought with CP, why are Kir pets included also? Mahina have been tanked and that's a shame, wish we had events like. Mass turn is of mahina for rewards lol. Turn in a CS pets for 1cp apiece or something. Get rid of all this excess. That's why Kir became a thing because pets were so worthless with all the excess
