Where do I dye clothes?

Hello! I have similar questions, so I figured I'd post in this thread.
I'm guessing clothes get dyed in the Cooking Basin, but I'm not sure what is needed besides the piece of clothing to be dyed (a dye kit? something else?). 
Also, does the original item have to be a specific color in order for the dyeing process to succeed, or will any color work?

In the Cooking Basin
With a small bottle of dye (you can buy these from user shops)
and I think you have to use white or natural depending on what the item is.
