The theme is pokemon!
Your sprite needs to include at least one Pokemon, and it needs to represent summer in some way. Quality of the sprite is important, but creativity is also important. Even if you're not a great spriter, if you have a very creative idea for tying in the summer theme, it would be worth your while to enter.
Now, some of you might not know the difference between sprites and other forms of digital art. Sprites are typically made by placing individual pixels, as opposed to other art forms that have several placed and blended at once. Sprites are also often made using solely MS paint, but using other programs is acceptable as long as they still qualify as "sprites." Images that are not sprites will be disqualified. Also note that sprites MUST be saved as .png or (in programs other than MS Paint), .gif. If you save it as .jpg or any other format, it will ruin the details and it will no longer look like a sprite.
You do not have to make your sprites small nor big; any size is okay as long as it's large enough to show any details that you want to show. However, when making your sprites, you must use entirely your own work. No copying/pasting parts of sprites from "official" sprites ripped from games. This means you may not do "fusions" of official sprites or other similar things; your works must be completely custom. The only things you may use from official images are colors; I'm ok with you using the same colors as the official sprites, and you may draw any inspiration from other works as long as you don't outright take them. Anyone who is found to be stealing sprites will have their entries disqualified.
