Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

Remember this old poem? Well this christmas night was going to be different. A disease has spread through out the united states and when the survivors wake up, they won't see joy, or christmas spirit. They'll see terror and violence. There are a hand full of survivors, and this is before it spreads across continents. 

Two teenagers fend off against the 'Zombies', but how long can they survive? Will they make it in time to the safe house? Will the safe house still even be safe when they get there?

Deak yawned as he was forced out of bed by Zeak. "C'mon Deak. Get your lazy butt up." Zeak sighed. It was unusually quiet that morning, considering they lived in a city apartment. Deak looked out the window, to see nothing but a few cars in an empty street. He was very confused when he called Zeak over to take a look. Zeak was quite surprised at this also. They walked out side together to see if they could find anyone. "It is christmas day..." Deak said thinking maybe that was the reason. That was when someone walked into the street. "Hey!" Zeak yelled out. The man turned around, and he didn't look so delightful. "What the..." They both said at the same time.

Shadow woke up and got dressed. She looked outside and she saw a few people just trudging along as if they'd been pulling chariots all day. She then ran downstairs to greet her mom and dad. Though they werent there. She looked around and saw broken glass and the back door knocked down. She gasped and grabbed her daggers. She thought somebody had broken in and they were still here. Shadow heard a noise upstairs and quickly ran up. "I know your in there! If you come out quietly I wont hurt you!" he shouted. All she heard was moaning and the peson dragging his feet along. When he came out he attacked her. Shadow screamed and stabbed him in the head. Shadow gasped and realized she stabbed the guys brain. "Oh my gosh.. What did I do?" she said terrified. She took a closer look and he didnt even seem alive anyway more like dead..

Deak and Zeak heard the scream and ran towards it. They came to a house with the door broken down. "Are you ok?" Deak called into the house. "Oh come on you wimp." Zeak pushed his in and up the stairs. They saw a girl with a bloody dagger and a man that look as terrifying as the one they saw before. Deak extended his hand towards the girl. "Are you ok?" He repeated. Zeak stood there also waiting for a reply while being in shock at the same time. "Whats going on?" Zeak asked them as he went to the window.

Shadow was startled by the two boys who went inside her house. "Yea Im fine! Enough with the chat who are you guys and why are you in my house?" she shouted as she pointed her daggers towards them. She then took a second glance at the man she killed. "And that was an accident. But if you two boozos dont leave now it'll be on purpose!" she gfowled as she motioned towards the dead body

"Uh well first off the door was knocked down. And second, you were screaming so we came here." Deak hissed. Zeak continued looking outside. Someone ran across the street screaming, running for one of 'them'. She ran into another and he ripped her to shreds. The screaming came to a halt as the disgusting image filled Zeak's mind. "These people aren't alive." Zeak clinched his fist. "I mean all signs point to it! They're eating the alive ones and wondering the silent streets that were once so loud." Zeak turned back to them. "The world is ending. An every second we waste here, is another second we could have used to get away." He explained. Deak rubbed his temples. "Your right, lets get out of here." He said and ran down stairs. He stoped and looked back to the girl. "Are you coming or what?" He waited for her.

Shadow watched as the girl was ripped to shreds. She felt hurt and terror grow inside her. A life she could have saved. Your job is to protect your neighborhood and there is a girl being torn apart! I cant believe you let that happen!  Her conscious told her. Shadow always listened to her consciounce and as always it was right. Shadow clutched onto her daggers and looked back at the monsters now eating the girl. "Wait what about my parents? I wont leave them!" she argued.

Deak walked up to her and put his hand on her shoulder. "You saw the fate of that guy. Your lucky he didn't eat you in your sleep. But, well focus on finding our parents after we get somewhere safe. Besides, I don't see them here." He said then turned to Zeak's callings. "We better go guys! A large mob of the things are coming!" Zeak shouted to them. Deak sighed and started to run towards Zeak. "Please come with us." He said to her. He realized he couldn't force her though.

Shadow sighed and ran up to catch them. "They were never there for me anyway.." she muttered under her breath. She then saw the large group of things comming ther way. "Hey ever seen the movies? They're called Walkers!" she shouted to one of the boys. Shadow readied her weapons and saw a nearby house. "Guys follow me!" she shouted and ran to the house. She climbed on top of a dumpster and climbed a pip to the rooftop. Once on top she reached out her hand to the both of them. "Hurry they're getting closer!" she exclaimed

Deak waited for Zeak to climb up before he grabbed the girls hand. After he was on the rooftop he looked down at the walkers. "How did this happen..." He asked knowing neither of the girl or Zeak had the answer. Deak turned to the girl and scratched the back of his head. "My name is Deak, and thats Zeak." He said, extending his hand towards her. "We might as well know each others names if were going to be together."

Shadow then pulled one of the boys up and waited for the other. She heard the boy trying to introduce himself as 'Deak' and the other as 'Zeke'. " Um. Sorry but now isnt the time to talk Ill give you my name later when we get to a safer area." she said. Shadow then grabbed Zekes hand and pulled him up as well. She wanted to introduce herself but did they know she was the neighborhoods vigilante? What would they think of her then if she gave them her name. She remembered her name was already known through some of the streets around her home but what about them? Shadow stopped rhinking about her name now and looked around. "This house is kinda short so we'll have to get somewhere taller." she stated. Shadow looked around and saw a tall two-story house. "Look up there, it'll be easier to get to the top since theirs stairs." she said in a bit of a happier tone. Shadow then waited for the others to agree to her plan.

Deak nodded in agreement, as did Zeak. "We should hide out there for a while. At least until we run out of food." Zeak suggested. "And me and Zeak are going to need weapons."  Deak added. They knew they wouldn't survive long without weapons. In a christ like this, something to protect yourself is absolutely curial. Well, that is besides food and water. They both waited for The girl's say before making a dart for the house.
