Intro

They are coming.  Right now.  The whitecoats, the Erasers, the Flyboys. All of them. They want us extinguished. No, not that - they want us used.  No, that's not it...

Whatever the reason, they all want us captured or killed.  Possibly both.  Our job?  To not let any of that happen.

Truth be told, we don't know their stupid plan.  But one juicy little tidbit we do know: That a giant amount of people will die.

How they got the Flyboys and the Erasers back up, I don't know.  How the whitecoats decided to do more experiments even after the others went wrong, I don't know.  What I do know is that time is ticking.

And when it runs out...

We won't be here to save the day.

So, Basically...

The whitecoats have created more avian-DNA experiments.  They've also rebooted the Erasers and Flyboys, creating them better than ever.  Their ultimate plan is to kill everyone working for Briak, their "enemy company," along with destroying every single one of Briak's products and their users.  Why?  Well, 'cause they're psychos. But Briak is very widespread, so it would practically involved 3/4 of the world's population!  And now, the "new" bird-kids have escaped, and they're trying to save the world.

Sound familiar anyhow?

Name: Lacey Blorethe

Age: 14 and a half

Gender: Female

Appearance: Lacey stands at 5'5". She has long, straight, jet-black hair that trails down to her mid-back. She has an athletic figure. Her nails usually have black polish on them to match her hair. Her skin is tan, and her eyes are a silver-gray color.

Personality: Lacey is quiet. She won't talk to you unless it is necessary. She has quite the temper.

History: The average bird kid history.

Power(s): She's telekinetic, and can easily read the emotions of others.

Wing Appearance: Thirteen feet of pure black plumage. They greatly resemble the wings of a raven.

Personality: River is outgoing. He will try to solve problems, and hopes for everyone to be happy. However, this can lead to some serious problems inside of himself.

Power(s): He can calm people immediately, and can speak to animals.

Wing Appearance: Fifteen feet of what looks like barn owl feathers.

Silently, evenly, Lacey flew westward. Her black wings beat strongly, leading her to her destination; absolutely nowhere. She was alone. She was from a different school than the others. She was sent there due to her fiery temper. However, she escaped. She was emotionless; her face a blank slate. And then it hit her. Not an idea. A bullet.

Where did that come from? Lacey thought to herself. She involuntarily pulled in her injured wing. Blood was tainting her black feathers a red color. She growled to herself as she began to spiral downwards. She hit the ground with a loud thud. Luckily, she didn't break any bones. She got up and groaned in pain. She pulled in her other wing, and winced. She was injured; a sitting duck.

River was walking around silently, his wings pulled in close to his body. He sighed, and waited for the rest of the flock, Fay and Cole, to arrive.

(Hm... Who's the leader of the Flock?)

Cole was in the shadows.  He appeared behind River, brushing past him.  His wings were tucked in neatly and one twitched slightly.  They were camped out in a nearby cave.  All around them was forest.  If you went far enough, you'd see civilization.  Turning around as if to check if River was there, he spoke.  "Shay went off."  Shrugging, he knew it was no big deal.  She went on her own little adventures sometimes.  But he knew she always came back.

Shay was running through the woods.  She had seen something - a rabbit.  Rabbit meat was good.  But it was gone now.  Skidding to a halt, dust flew up around her.  Looking to the sky, Shay knew where she was going next.  "Next stop: Up."  Leaping up into the air, the girl thrust herself into the sky.  The feel of the wind made everything seem ok.  Her gold-tipped feathers caught the sun for a moment and shone with a radiant glow.  Shay smiled.  Catching a draft, the wind took her upwards and then down, like a roller coaster, for that small time.  Angling her wing-tips down, she dropped, then quickly gained altitude once more.  Deciding to be a bit daring, she snapping her wings to herself all of a sudden and started to free-fall.  Faster, faster... Faster, faster...

The wind was harsh at this speed.  The ground was getting closer.  A few seconds later, her wings snapped open, and she drifted along.  Ah, toying with gravity sure was fun.

Lacey got up. She clenched her teeth. Her wing was killing her. She wandered through the woods, and saw two others, River and Cole. They appeared normal. She hid behind a tree, but her foot landed on a stick, and broke it, sending a loud, echoing snap through the forest. She clenched her eyes shut, and cursed under her breath.

River was watching Cole when he heard a snap. "What was that?" He said, looking into the forest. He couldn't pinpoint the exact location of the snap. "Someone's near us," he said to Cole. He just hoped that the person hadn't seen Shay. Going off alone was a death sentence for a bird kid.

Cole nodded in response.  He braced himself, then slowly walked toward the snap.  Peering through the trees, he could make out a figure... Somewhat of a girl.  What would a girl be doing out here?  "Who are you?" he asked.  "Why have you come?"

Shay looked around.  Where was she?  Had her little joyride taken her off to foreign places?  Oh, no.  Frantically looking around, she saw nothing familiar.  Spinning around mid-flight, the wind pushed her back with her wings extended for a second.  Tucking them in, Shay soon unfurled them once again and started back.  Was she even going the right way?  Looking around on this path, she didn't say anything familiar here either.  Yell for help?  No, that might mean someone might hear... Or something.  If an Eraser or a Flyboy heard, they'd be on me in no time.  Crap.  What now?  "What now" was the question she really needed an answer to at the moment.

Lacey growled to herself. "Lacey." She sighed. "I'm hurt." Her wing was bleeding badly now, and she felt weak and dizzy. She had lost too much blood. By now, blood was dripping off of her primary feathers and onto the forest floor. Of course, you couldn't tell. Her wings were still tucked into her back.

River looked at the girl. Her wing must be hurting her, he thought to himself. He sighed. It seemed as if another member was going to be joining the flock.

Cole sighed.  Seeing no choice but to accept her into the flock, he helped her walk to their make-shift camp.  Setting Lacey down, he looked her over, taking extra caution to her wing.  "Bullet," he muttered quietly to himself.  There was a stream not far off.  One of River's shirts could be torn apart, too.  Getting up, he went to go grab River's backpack.  Ooooooh, shirts.  Jackpot.  Grabbing one, he tore it apart into strips.  Taking two of the five strips, he ran to the stream and came back with soaking wet cloth.  Going over to Lacey, he dabbed it at the wound, cleaning the blood.  After he cleaned as much as he could, Cole wrapped the two water-soaked strips of River's shirt around the wing.  The other three dry strips were wrapped around that.  "There."

Shay was worried.  What if she never found her flock again?!?! What if she was lost forever?!?!

No. NO.  She couldn't think this way.  Of course she'd find her way back.  Maybe not immediately, but soon.  A while later, she finally spotted something: a giant lake.  It shimmered like a million stars from up here.  Gliding down, she landed at it.  When they were trying to find a place to stay the night, they had found this lake on their way.  This must mean they were close.  A few miles away, perhaps..

Lacey winced as Cole cleaned her wound. She was being quiet, as usual. She ran a hand through her jet black hair, and sighed. She decided that Cole wasn't all that bad. Of course, she still wasn't too sure about the other boy, River.

River was beginning to get worried. "Hey, Cole," he said, "I'm going to go look for Shay." And at that, he rocketed into the sky, his wings carrying him. He traced backwards. Then he remembered that he had told Shay to meet up at the lake if they ever got seperated. Of course, she probably didn't remember that. He was still going to check, though.

As he approached the lake, he spotted her. He landed beside her and said, "Did you get lost?" with a smirk on his face.

Cole nodded to River, then slightly smiled.  But it disappeared quickly.  "Get some rest," he said absently.  Leaving Lacey in the cave alone, he walked outside and sat down by where the fire was last night.  It was put out by now, though.

Shay narrowed her eyes at River.  "Whatever.  Let's go."  From here, she knew where she needed to go.  Bursting into the air, she flew off.  Whether or not River was following, she didn't really need to know at the time.  Who cared if she had gotten lost?  And, technically, she actually hadn't gotten lost, because she would have found her way back quickly from the lake.  Grr.

"Yes ma'am," River said, mocking Shay. He was smirking the whole time that he flew behind her.

As if Lacey was going to sleep. She got up and followed Cole silently. Plus, nobody told her what to do. Her face was emotionless again. Her gray eyes followed Cole's every movement.

Shut up.  Shut up, shut up, shut up.  Shay was annoyed by River, but she didn't let it get to her too much.  By now, they were about halfway to the "camp."

Cole saw Lacey out of the corner of his eye.  If any Flyboys or Erasers came by, she might be dead meat.  But Lacey probably knew how to fight - all of us freaks usually did.  As if on cue, he heard a rustle from far away.  What was that?  An enemy?  Probably so.  He bolted upright, getting to his feet.  "Get ready to go," he said to Lacey.  Soon enough, five Erasers burst through the woods.  "NOW!"  Pushing her back, he hissed, "Fight if you can.  If not, go."  Running forward, thoughts racked his mind.  Of course they wouldn't have been safe here for long.

Lacey clapped her hands over an Eraser's ears. The Eraser shreiked in pain before it fell to the ground, its eardrums busted. She did a drop kick on the Eraser, smashing its skull and killing it. She went at another Eraser, but it punched her in the mouth. Lacey fell to the ground and sighed. Anger filled her mind. She lifted the Eraser into the air with her mind, and smashed it into trees. Hard.

River sighed. Then, saw the camp below. And he saw the spectacular show that Lacey was putting on. He stared in awe, and then he spiraled downwards, landing on top of an Eraser, the impact killing it. Only one more Eraser to go.

Cole did a forceful punch to the Eraser's jaw, a sickening crunch taking place.  Taken aback, it clutched it's bleeding wound.  But Cole didn't let up.  He smashed down on the Eraser's face, then kicked it in the chest.  It's breath had been knocked out of it, and a few ribs had probably broken.  His skull was probably cracked.  Moaning in pain, the Eraser was soon lifeless.  But another jumped at Cole from behind, tackling him.

Shay's small anger at River flared when she saw the Erasers.  Angling her wing-tips downward, she rocketed towards one.  The shock and surprise on its face was joyful as she smashed into it.  Its whole body crunched, and Shay was glad.  But the Eraser kicked her off, hitting her square in the gut.  Skidding off, Shay started to get up.  The Eraser was already up.  But Shay jumped to her feet at the sight of it and did a deadly roundhouse to his jaw.

Lacey threw the beaten Eraser to the side. He was dead. She looked over at the Eraser that had tackled Cole. With a sickening grin, she spit some blood out of her mouth. She then pried the Eraser off of the boy with her mind once more. She clenched her fists, and the pebbles on the ground around her levitated. Smiling, Lacey smashed the Eraser into the ground as hard as she could. The Eraser crunched like a bug. Lacey was done. However, using such ma.ssive amounts of her power used up her energy. She fell to the ground, breathing heavily.

River looked at Lacey, curious. However, he stayed quiet. He didn't want to crunch like that Eraser did.

The Eraser's mouth was bloody, and teeth spewed out onto the ground.  Its mouth was probably broken, but, heck, who cares? Smashing its face with her foot, Shay finished off the Eraser with a slam to its ribs.  Then it went limp.

Cole took a glance at Lacey.  She was practically all tuckered out.  Getting up, he knew he'd have some bruises and a cut of two from the Eraser's sharp boot when it bit into his back once it tackled him.  Looking around, there were no more Erasers.  Every last one was dead.

(Again, who is the leader of the Flock?)

((I think that there should be no leader. They should all be equal, but Shay and River should make the decisions.))

Lacey collapsed onto the floor, fainted. She had used way too much energy. Besides, she hadn't ran into any Erasers in a while, so her skills had gotten dull. Her black hair splayed around her.

River ran over to help the poor girl. He picked Lacey up, and set her down next to the cave. Then he saw her wing. Cole had fixed her up. "Thanks for helping her, Cole," River said happily. He was always glad to help others, and was glad to see others being helped.

Cole smirked. Obviously River hadn't noticed that it was his shirt that had paid the price.  Looking over at Shay, he knew she realized it, too.  But the smirk was wiped off his face as quickly as it came.  Quickly looking over Lacey, he tried to as.sess what had happened.  Oh, yes - power exhaustion.  She'd be fine in a while.

Shay looked at the other Flock members then at the dead Eraser bodies.  They'd have to get a move on soon.  Who knew what'd be coming their way next if the Erasers already knew they were here?  But with Lacey unconcious, they couldn't really go anywhere.  "Ok, as soon as she wakes up, we're moving up and out," Shay quickly decided.
