|Seeking Literate Roleplayers| Well, maybe it doesn't have epic potential. Anyways... Welcome one, welcome all, to Lola’s newest roleplaying endeavor: Animus Certa. This roleplay is now seeking LITERATE roleplayers who will be dedicated to posting, developing, and improving this roleplay. If this interests you, please look over the plot and requirements to see if you would be eligible to join. I have been planning this roleplay for quite some time, so I WILL be picky with who joins, and I WILL be nagging you if you forget to post. :) If you haven’t been scared off yet, please read onwards. Post Guide Post One: Introduction Post Two: Plot/Setting Post Three: Requirements Post Four: Conclusion

Plot It has been a long time in the making. The highest-quality video game on the market, Animus Certa, has finally been released. But, it’s much, much more than just a game. Animus Certa, or Mind Games, has combined the technology of teleportation with that of a video game. The result? A video game that you live in. Only the richest can afford it. Only the best can play it. No one has won…yet. This is where our story begins. The best video game players from all over the world have been called to the Animus Certa labs, where they will compete to see who can win this elusive, mysterious game. Twenty-four players. Thirteen levels. Only one person can win. When a player is “zapped” into the Game, they literally disappear from our plane of existence. They are placed instead into the virtual world of Animus Certa, where their bodies are reconfigured into a series of coherent pixels. They can control their actions and think as they would normally, but the game also allows them to have one special ability. These are chosen prior to entering the game, and are given to them as soon as they appear on the virtual plane. One cannot die, per se, in Animus Certa. When a player sustains injuries too great for any of the game’s collectable attributes, or if they posses none, the game automatically re “zaps” them back into the “real” world, so to speak. Injuries to the physical body of a player do not remain when they re-enter our plane of existence. However, mental injuries and memories do remain. The goal of this competition is simple: to win the game. The winner receives fame and fortune, the ti tle of Best Player worldwide, and a spokesperson contract with the makers of Animus Certa. It’s a good deal, especially since the sign-up is free. The only problem? There are twenty-four players, each competing for the prize. Your task is to remain alive for each of the thirteen levels. The competition will be stiff, but the more levels you win, the more your total monetary winnings will increase. If you die, the game is over for you. But if you succeed…the rewards will be great. The best of luck to anyone who tries to win the Mind Games. Setting Era This roleplay takes place 100 years in the future. There is obviously a lot of new technology, which you are free to improvise on when roleplaying in the “real world.” Video games, until now, have only had much better graphics, harder plots, and more levels. None of the video games of our current day still exist then. Animus Certa is the first game of its kind, and those who play it are very exclusive. None of our characters will have played it before. The Animus Certa Labs The Animus Certa labs are in a very remote area in the Swiss Alps, due to the secretive nature of their executives. This is mostly to prevent video game technology or idea theft, but also to prevent bribery or “gifts” for the players or lab attendants. The labs are a massive white compound set into a snowy valley, far away from civilization. The only way to access it is by helicopter, or some intense hiking. Inside, it is heated and stocked with enough food, water, and supplies for six months if a blizzard, avalanche or another natural disaster were to set in. They receive bi-weekly restocks of non-emergency supplies, however. The compound is separated into four wings: North, South, East, and West. The North Wing is used for housing purposes for staff, the competitors, and one family member of the competitors. The South Wing is for eating and socialization. It has two lounges, a giant cafeteria, a bar, and even a ballroom. The East Wing is research and development labs, strictly off-limits for those who are not employees. The West Wing has the offices of the executives, as well as the portal to put them into Animus Certa. The actual game is a huge hard drive kept in a safe under lock and key. The whereabouts of the game is unknown, and is very confidential information. The Game The game Animus Certa consists of thirteen levels, each increasing in difficulty. The goal of the game is to find a “key” to the next level. The finder of this key wins the level, and has the honor of unlocking the portal. When one unlocks the next portal, they are transported into what we might call a mini-game. This gives them the chance to earn more benefits for the upcoming level. It could be anything from a first aid kit to a laser gun. Each of the levels has a different theme, such as jungle, arctic, desert, or maze. These will be described and planned out more when the members of the roleplay have been chosen. The thirteenth level will be the hardest—perhaps close to impossible—and the key will lead the winner and any remaining players into the real world.

Requirements If you’ve made it this far, you’re interested in the plot, no? Well, hold on before screaming your enthusiasm. Erm, wait before posting. I’ve worked long and hard on this roleplay, and I have some wishes for those who will join it. I don’t want to have to be mean and turn anyone down, but I will if they don’t get the message. I’ll be a bit flexible, but try to have most of these things down before asking to join. Anyways. Here are the requirements. -Literacy This roleplay will require at least three solid paragraphs per member, per post. Some may be long, and some maybe a bit shorter. You won’t be expected to type up a novel per post, but give us something to reply to, and don’t spend a paragraph describing your character’s hair. A few brain-dead moments are understandable, but that is no excuse for less than two good paragraphs. This also means that you can use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Typos are understandable, but go through your posts and edit them if you find a mistake. Stick to the plot, have unique and well thought-out characters, and know what’s acceptable. This means no text talk, people. No power playing or godmoding, either. Got it? -Activity You MUST remain active for this roleplay. It will be long (Even multiple roleplays, even.), and it will require staying with us the whole way through. But, it does have the potential to become amazingly fun…if you don’t abandon us. If you do sign up, and you’re accepted, I will be rMailing you if you fail to reply in a timely manner, post your characters, etc. I won’t make you continue roleplaying if you have to leave for an unexpected reason, but try and work something out so that your characters don’t just die off. Everyone is involved in this plot, and to simply leave has the potential to extremely mess it up. This especially goes for people with important characters. -Creativity We will be designing the different levels once all of our members have been accepted. You will be expected to have unique characters, fun posts, and be a beneficial part of this roleplay. Minor plot twists are always fun. If you can’t manage to come up with a level, tell us so that we’re not left waiting for someone who’s never going to do it. There’s not much more to be said for this. -And some other things Just some miscellaneous things. You will have two characters: one boy, and one girl. If you can’t roleplay a gender, you can’t roleplay with us. Sorry, but that’s the way it is. Also, there will be people who will “die” in this game. No, not actually die, but will return to the real world while others are still in Animus Certa. Lastly, there will be a winner, and losers. If you have a problem with this, don’t bother joining. I won’t put up with whining. Winners, and those who won’t make it to the final level, will be chosen at random. Don’t say that I’m choosing favorites or being unfair, because I’m not. Sorry if I seem tough, but I expect people to give as much to this roleplay as I have. It could rise or fall, depending on the dedication of everyone.

Conclusion Well, congratulations! You’ve reached the end of my thread. If you still haven’t been scared off yet, kudos to you. And if you’re still interested in joining, better yet! There are five slots available for roleplayers who meet the above requirements. Please post your interest here, as well as some links to examples of your roleplaying. They should be recent. Also, post how often you log on, and any days that you can’t. Slots -lolalover6 -Dragonstar -Feyth - Graveyardfox - - This thread, after the roleplayers have been chosen, will be used as a planning thread. If you have a level (besides thirteen) that you wish to plan out, please ask. I think that’s just about everything. Check back for updates! Thanks for reading this far. Best of luck, Lola

OoC:// Teh Dragon wants to join because she is majorly interested. And do I have to post links to recent roleplays were I am literate? Or are you one of those people who stalk everything? I can log in everyday, but during the week days I can get on after 5 restime. I have work Monday through Friday and I can't access Res from where I work. |P Me thinks this is it. And I shall go find threads to link to. I have a couple in mind. So the first two questions are more of a jk than anything else. Threads; The Undead Apocalypse Welcome to the Syndicate |:| The Call |:| Headmastor Majorian's School for the Gifted

Well, I am back, no longer hiding from Rescreatu, afraid that maybe I shouldn't come back. Anyway, point is, this roleplay looks EXCEEDINGLY more planned out than a lot that I have been looking at. If you would consider my presance in this roleplay, I would be honored. I don't have any recent roleplaying posts, so I understand if I am not alowed in. However, I can be on everyday, being that it is summre vacation. When school starts, I can only come on in the mornings and the evenings after Homework is all finished. I am also looking for a job, being that I shall soon turn 16, but I am sure that will not be a problem.

@Feyth: Welcome back to Res! I remember seeing you around, but it's been a while. ^^ Since you don't have any current roleplays, are there any threads that haven't been deleted yet that you could link me to? Or a post-length estimate?
