Waitwaitwait. "And Jeysus?" xD
... So what were you thinking in regards to characters? By that I mean, do you have any preference as to who you roleplay as? I ask because I'm trying to figure out which character(s) I want, and their personalities, etc. :u

Lol okay. That's fine by me, seeing as I would have no idea how to describe the runes properly. I can be vamp, then, if you want. Aside from that, NPC villagers?

Name: /RUNE DOOD PLZ/ Just kidding.
Atramentum. Gender: Male. Age: 16 Atramentum has short-cropped, inky black hair cut in a choppy, messy style. All over his skin are black, blue or red tattoos of runes, all inked in preparation for the day they would be needed. When the time does come- which appears to be alarmingly near, seeing as there have been vampire sightings near the village for months now- for his purpose to be fulfilled, every last one of these hundreds of tattoos will be carved into his skin, deep enough that they would draw pools of blood. Asides from the tattoos, Atramentum has pale skin on which the dark ink contrasts harshly. His eyes are silvery-blue, moving to grey around his pupil. A plain white, sleeveless tunic and what look somewhat like slightly loose riding breeches. Unlike most inhabitants of the village, Atramentum chooses not to wear any shoes. Personality: Atramentum has not, needless to say, had the greatest of upbringings. He has apparently 'accepted' the fact that he will die when the village deems it right, but the reality of the situation he has never known any other fate. He doesn't fear much, seeing anything that might kill him as well, who cares? It's going to happen sooner or later anyway. He appears as quite a calm individual when in surrounds he knows and understands, but does not deal very well with change. In fact he tends to become highly strung and unstable in surroundings unfamiliar to him. History: Seeing as both his parents were slaughtered by vampire/s- unknown by the villagers whether it acted alone or in a pack - it was viewed by the village that Atramentum was destined to become the Rune Sacrifice. So, he has not had the childhood most had. He was not encouraged to do his best, to try hard so he would make something of himself. He was encouraged to do nothing at all, actually. In spite of this, he spent prolonged periods of time in the forest, looking for animals. He rarely found any at first, but now he can track expertly, not that he realises this fact. Blech: Nope.

Name: Afanasiy. (AH-fun-ASS-ee)
Gender: Male.
Age: 138
Appearance: Afanasiy, consistent with all those of his species, maintains a deceptively young and human-like appearance despite being well over a hundred years old. At first glance, Afanasiy is actually quite easily mistaken for a human, though his deathly pale skin, royal purple eyes and unusually sharp canines are fair indicators that he is not what he appears to be.
Long, straight hair the colour of roasted chestnuts hangs down to Afanasiy's waist. Streaks of black run from the roots all the way to the tips of his hair, starting off thin and gradually becoming thicker as they progress downwards.
Personality: Afanasiy is strange, to say the least. He sees no problem with having friendly conversations with humans before sinking his fangs into their necks, but he won't even acknowledge another vampire.
Opposite many of his race, Afanasiy actually doesn't have a problem with humans. He is more indifferent to them than anything, like a beetle on the pavement that he may or may not feel like squashing. Sometimes, he will stop and study them for a bit before peacefully going on his way, and other times he will savagely attack and rip a defenceless human limb from limb. In this sense, Afanasiy is unpredictable and unstable. Conversely, he is very much a creature of habit. He tends to follow the same self-imposed schedule every day, rarely doing things any differently.
Like many vampires, Afanasiy prefers to spend the majority of his time alone, though company is tolerated if not welcomed at times. He is very blunt when speaking to others, and while he will never openly insult someone, he wouldn't go out of his way to make them happy either. He's a little arrogant at times, relishing the superior strength and speed he had over humans. These he will brag about to anyone that will listen.
History: Despite the fact that vampires are typically somewhat solitary creatures, Afanasiy had a travelling companion of sorts for just under six years. He served as what could only be described as a mentor for a young Afanasiy. For reasons unknown, the elder vampire (Culpa was his name) one day decided that he could not go on killing 'innocent' humans because he felt 'guilty', or some such nonsense. As such, he began fasting, refusing to drink the blood of a human, even those which Afanasiy killed for him. Desperate and highly concerned for his friend, Afanasiy tried to convince Culpa to try animal blood instead. Reluctantly, the other vampire complied and, for a while, was able to survive solely on the blood of animals which he caught. However, it was a poor substitute for real human blood, and Culpa found himself growing weaker by the day. Just as a human would not be able to live off of water alone, vampires cannot live long by drinking anything other than the human blood they were intended to consume.
So a very frail, very weak Culpa slowly withered away as Afanasiy watched helplessly. Seeing no better alternative, the two continued to travel together, Afanasiy angry with Culpa for being so stubborn and stupid. Understandably distracted, the pair unknowingly wandered into what was apparently the domain of an extremely territorial vampire, who lashed out at the intruders. Afanasiy fought back, but not before the other vampire attacked Culpa, seriously injuring him.
Refusing to eat and refusing help altogether at this point, Culpa died days later. Afanasiy somehow got it in his head that the whole thing was his fault, and in a fit of grief and rage, went back to kill the vampire who had wounded Culpa. After that, not knowing what to do with himself now that Culpa was gone, Afanasiy travelled far away so that his location wouldn't remind him of things he'd rather forget. He went along aimlessly for a long time, before he felt a strange and very powerful urge grip him. It was similar to normal hunger, but at the same time stronger and manipulative. He felt strangely compelled to venture towards a small human village, where the scent of fresh human blood was strong...
Blech: So. I was cruising google translate for believable vampire names, and I'm using words that are cliche and vampire-esque. One such word was 'drinker' (or something like that. Like... blood drinker) and guess what. POTATOR. I very nearly made that his name, but then I named him after my friend's cat instead. :u

[[Looooong story short, I foundan exhausted homingpigeon andlookedafter it. While mymother tracked downtheowner with the band on its leg, the likelihood isthatit would be killed when the owner got his/her hands on it becuse itlostthe race, andanyway theynever showed up to claim it. c:]]
The scene was horrific. Blood flowed freely along the soil, as if the very earth itself would not accept the sacrifice. Four men, or what appeared to be men, stood on theedge of a ring drawn in the soil; each brandished a blood-stained knife. Another circle, thistime of lit candles, surrounded the men, that being the only light source save the moon. And at the center of it all, the creature from which the blood poured.
Straight lines, curved lines, mark after mark etched deep into his skin. The men were following a guideline, the knives digging deep along the lines, cleaving through the skin like butter. It was a wonder they couldsee what they were doing, given the darkness and the blood. Finally, however, they were almost complete. All that remained now was the final mark of sealing, a long, narrow slash extending from the sacrifice's hairline, over his right eye-although not deep enough to blind, just grazing the lid- and curving round under his jaw.
A strange mist cloaked the clearing in the forest, thenow protected- albeit enticing- boy left in a heap on the floor. ''Enter now, hell-spawn! Prepare to meet your death at our hands!''

(( I love pigeons. :u ...Hey Rabbah xD))
Afanasiy crept forward, his movements fluid and graceful as a cat. His whole body pulsed with the need to feed: never before had he wanted a human's blood so badly.
Surveying the scene silently from his hiding place among the shadows, he stared at all the wasted blood, collecting in dark pools on the ground. The human- the one whose blood smelled so sweet- was being cut by the other humans. His skin was being carved into with knives. Perhaps Afanasiy was simply too far away to hear them, but he did not notice the bleeding one make any noises of pain. Odd, usually humans were quite vocal about such things.
He couldn't help but flinch as he heard the harsh words of a human male, standing very near to the one that Afanasiy was so drawn towards.
"Enter now, hell-spawn!" shouted the man. "Prepare to meet your death at our hands!"
Well that's lovely, thought Afanasiy. He hasn't even gotten to know me yet, and already he's making assumptions.
Baring his teeth in a feral grin, Afanasiy advanced forward, stepping into the meager light provided by the moon. As he did so, he noticed something about the bleeding one. The cuts on his body had been made to follow a peculiar pattern that was completely foreign to Afanasiy. He wondered whether these humans had some sort of disease of the mind, for why else would they be cutting up one of their own? And why did the one they attacked not struggle or cry out for help? Perhaps it was a strange ritual, or it could have been some form of punishment for something the bleeding one had done wrong. He knew that humans were big on vengeance, so that could easily be the case.
A nagging feeling gripped Afanasiy as he continued to walk towards his next meal. It all seemed too easy: the bleeding one wasn't even trying to escape. The other man's stinging words almost made it seem like Afanasiy's arrival had been expected. That was impossible: he had never even been here before.
Just then, any and all chances of reason winning out over desire vanished as a fresh wave of desperate hunger hit Afanasiy, crippling in its intensity. He stalked forward, ignoring the feeling that something might be amiss.
He didn't see any harm in sating his curiosity before he fed, so as Afanasiy closed the final few meters of distance between them, he looked the pitiable creature in the eye, saying "Why do you not run?"

The men all took a step back as the 'beast' drew near, surprised by his appearance even though they all knew he would come. No, not a he; while it might appear more masculine than feminine, it was most definitely an 'it'. This creature didn't deserve to classify as a man, a human man. It was nothing more than a monstrosity, incapable of human emotions, fueled only by blood lust, anger and the desire to cause harm.
So, with this knowledge in their hearts, it was a little disturbing to find that it spoke to the Rune Sacrifice. Actually spoke to him. They hadn't been taught what to do if this should happen, so they all drew the sacred knives into a 'fighting' stance - in other words stances they'd seen soldiers adopt while fighting - and prepared for the worst.
Atramentum, meanwhile, stared into the bright eyes of the vampire. They were such a beautiful colour, he thought... He'd never even seen animals with eyes like that, let alone people. But then again, this man, he was not a person. While Atramentum had been less quick to simply accept the ideas of vampires being the cause of everything, that was the only way he had been raised. He had been told that if crops failed, a vampire was responsible; if it rained too much, or the sun shined too much, vampires were responsible; if animals got sick, it was most definitely a vampire's fault.
It took a moment to register he was being spoken to, and another moment to formulate an answer, although the mist that surrounded them all appeared to be gaining a reddish tint for Atra. ''And run to where? I have... accepted my fate.'' Why had he paused? Of course he accepted his fate. What more could there be to it? Perhaps he shouldn't be telling the vampire this. Perhaps if he let on to the plan the vampire would simply realize and massacre them all. ''I am the Rune Sacrifice, designed to distract you... Long enough so that you may be slaughtered.'' Well, that definitely wasn't what he was supposed to say. The look of horror in the eyes of the men around him would have confirmed that thought, were it not for the fact that Atramentum's grey-blue eyes were looking at only one thing, the strange creature that was to be the instrument of his death.
To finally see such a creature after being told about them for so long was incredible. This man, this vampire was most definitely other-worldly. The four men began cursing and swearing, decided the plan was up, and rushed at the vampire waving already blood-stained knives. Atra himself was far too busy wondering if the vampire's skin was pale because vampires couldn't go in the sun, or if they couldn't go in the sun because their skin was pale. He would have to try and ask him, before he killed him. It would be nice to know the answer, so he had something to think about going into the land of the spirits.
