Sounds good to me. Should we transfer our character sheets here? Edit: Here's the slightly altered version of my character sheet. Name:
Arashi Zadkiel. Gender:
Male. Age: 17.Appearance
(detailed
please!): Arashi is tall for his age and slightly lanky,
caught in an adolescent lapse in his appearance's grace precipitated
by growth. His eyes are a rich purple hue, and peer through
rectangular specs with a thin black frame. His hair is a paler, more
airy purple, and he wears it long – most often in a ponytail or a
bunch. When this hair is not tied back, it reaches down to the small of
his back. Some of his hair has a tendency to hang down at
either side of his face, framing it and encroaching on it at the same
time, usually only reaching around his chin's level before it is cut.
Most often, he wears an inquisitive or an amused ex pression,
favouring lazy smiles and raised eyebrows. He prefers to wear blue or
green, and his favourite Totodile-blue hoodie bears a symbol
representing stormy
weather.
He also favours kid leather gloves in soft purple.
Personality:
For the most part, Arashi is fairly laid back, preferring to observe
the situation before he speaks up or changes variables, but he has a
fondness for irreverence. He has a breezy lack of regard for
arbitrary authority, and simply refuses to respect on demand. If he
believes that the suggestions of an authority figure are reasonable,
he is likely to go along with them, but he reserves respect for those
he believes have earned it. With Arashi, no obedience is automatic
save when the situation is perilous or it is so obvious as to become
routine. Arashi is also more comfortable interacting with Pokemon
than other humans whom he doesn't know, as he believes Pokemon to be,
on the whole, more honest. He loves to learn new things about the
creatures who fascinate him the most, particularly Psychic types. He
is considering the potential in becoming a Professor or a Breeder in
the future, and believes that he must have extensive first-hand
knowledge and understanding out 'in the field' in order to accomplish
this goal. Thus, he isn't interested in placing first in any leagues,
but is likely to compete anyway. Occasionally prone to silly moods
and flights of fancy, Arashi may sometimes attempt to approach
situations in unconventional manners, and he wishes to cultivate a
reputation as an eccentric. He is not quick to anger, preferring
plotting to yelling in someone's face, but he never forgets an
insult. He also has an interesting sense of morals, and sees no
problem with vigilante action if he deems it required. His alignment,
therefore, I describe as Chaotic Good verging on Chaotic Neutral. Oh,
and he dislikes the colour crimson to a slightly irrational degree.
History
(detailed please!): Arashi is the only son of a prestigious Breeder
couple, who enlisted the aid of their Pokemon in bringing him up.
Thus, from an early age, Arashi had both a fascination and a fondness
for the creatures, referring to many of them as though they were
family members. One notable example of this being his father's
Espeon, 'Uncle' Isaac, who often minded him as a baby. Having no
siblings or nearby neighbours, Arashi grew up playing with young
Pokemon. One of his first chores was helping to prepare food for the
Pokemon, and he gradually learnt how best to cater for each taste. As
he became older, he also grew more involved in caring for the sick,
and in lulling distressed Pokemon to sleep. He isn't a qualified
healer, but he has a good basic knowledge and understanding of how to
care for unwell individuals prior to getting a professional.
Arashi and
his family originally lived in Kanto, on the outskirts of Lavender
Town, but the rate of Team Rocket related crime increased too much
for them to view it as a safe haven. By the time Arashi was six, they
were trying to rob the Breeding Farm on a semi-regular basis, and had
managed to abscond with some of the young Pokemon Arashi viewed as
siblings. Perturbed and discouraged, Arashi's family pulled up their
roots and moved to Ereos, settling in the forest around (insert name here) City.
There, they felt they could hide in safety, maintaining contact with
those who required their service through the friendly Professor Willow.
Flaws:
Arashi has a slight tendency to intellectual snobbery, which
expresses itself in terms of his inordinate fondness for using long
words whenever he thinks he has sufficient excuse, wearing glasses
that have no true lenses in order to emphasise his intelligence, and
having a lower opinion (though not usually contempt) of those he
perceives as stupid. He also has the rather naïve view that Pokemon
should be more easily trusted than humans, which speaks of an
idealism not quite shed. Additionally, Arashi is somewhat paranoid,
and prefers to be as prepared as he possibly can, often taking a leaf
out of whichever books he's currently reading. In the case of the
start of his journey, this means the inclusion of rope and a length
of steel pipe in his belongings, for reasons best known to himself,
along with the usual provisions and a set of night-vision goggles. He
also has less than ideal social skills when interacting with humans.
Skills:
Cookery, reading Pokemon body language and voice tone, Singing (bass), caring for
the sick and injured.
Favourite
Type: Psychic, Ghost.
Least
Favourite Type: Fire (because he has long, flammable hair).
Goals by
the End of this Role Play: Well, I would quite like to have had some
interaction with Mewtwo, as he's my favourite character and Pokemon,
but Arashi has no interest in catching him. He's more likely to see
him as a colleague and potential partner in study and vigilante
action. Honestly, he's dotty enough to ignore the risk in trying to
associate with a powerful and unknown Pokemon, where he would be more
wary of, say, a Gym Leader.
Anything
Else you Want the GM to Know!:
Arashi has a grudge against Team Rocket which may develop into a
vendetta, given the opportunity. He is also very interested in
Pokemon behaviour and genetics.

YEah we should uvu
Name: Gabriel Marquis
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Appearance (detailed please!): Gabriel is a tall, lanky, unimpressive-looking fellow. He appears as though he'd be unable to hold his own in a fight and his sheer willpower is what has gotten him as far as he's gotten. He has short, wavy brown hair and bright green eyes that compliment is olive skin tone. He stands at over six-foot-seven and often resorts to standing awkwardly in a manner that usually just makes him look gangly.
His face makes him look younger than he is, not yet free of the 'baby fat' stage. His eyes are often wide and inquisitive, curious about the world around him. He also has a few freckles across the bridge of his nose and his shoulders that seem to multiply when he's out in the sun too long.
Normally he wears nice things, like long-sleeve shirts with a sweatervest or something. His basic attire choices practically scream 'dork' or 'nerd', minus the fact that he actually has no need for glasses.
Personality: Curious and intelligent, Gabriel pays close attention tot he world around him. He wants to know more about it and wants to know more about pokemon as an extension of that. They are fascinating and have attracted his attention for many, many years, sicne he was but a small boy.
History (detailed please!): Gabriel has led a rather uneventful life for the most part, minus getting into a small bit of a scuffle with a wild lillipup that had been released a couple years prior. HE came out unharmed mostly, but from that day on he's been fascinated by Pokemon and has wanted to know as much about them as possible and vowed that once he was able to he would actively go out into the world of Pokemon to watch them in their natural environments. It's been an itch he just can't scratch.
Flaws: Physically weak, slight asthma issues, not a whole lot of stamina, can sometimes be brought to tears a little too easily
Skills: He analyzes situations thoroughly before acting upon them and can retain information exceptionally well. Says he has a photographic memory.

I've edited my previous post. Where do you think we should start? Maybe with our characters being sent off on their hike? If there's potential to get lost, then that would give Allora an opening for her character/s to show up out of the blue if she decides to join.

It was a sunny mid-morning in the Ereos region, though clouds could be seen drifting lazily through the sky like sleepy wanderers, and the entire student body of a certain high school were all standing on the grounds, waiting for their instructions. It was Monday, the day of the survival exercise, and there was a ripple of anxiety traversing the crowd of young Pokemon handlers. The school was right next to a path leading to Windhaven Woods, an expanse of forest that led right up to a trio of mountains, and the woods were reputed to be home to many and various Pokemon. Preying on the students' imagination were the many possible tangled thickets and densely vegetated spots, or gloomy mountain caves whose watery 'plink' sounds echoed in their minds' ears. The woods, for their part, looked peaceful from the outside, their leaves tickled by the light spring breeze into a form resembling a verdant ocean at play. The mountains, too, looked serene and majestic, like something from a postcard. Not everyone was fooled, however. Some, like Arashi Zadkiel, knew from reading or from the television that mountain weather was temperamental at best, and such places often hosted the most tough Pokemon.
Professor Willow, a sprightly female professional with long and curly green hair and flashing amber eyes, emerged from the school building along with a few members of the faculty and prepared to address the gathered young people. Everyone hushed as they listened to her speaking, informing them of the purpose of the exercise: to learn how to survive in the wilderness with only the help of their Pokemon and their assigned partners. They were to venture out into the woods in groups of three, and remain there for a week. They were assured that they were unlikely to encounter anything too dangerous, but not everyone was comforted by this assertion. Everyone was listening closely to hear their assigned companions' names, as the composition of their groups would have a direct impact on how well they would do. Arashi was nervous, not being accustomed to working with other humans in his age group - being far more used to Pokemon than to others of his species. When it was announced that he was to work with Gabriel Marquis and Jake Mason, he didn't know what to think, not knowing either beyond face recognition, but he saw no point in resisting the instruction to go and stand with them while awaiting the order to go forth.
(Gotta go, it's late where I am.))

Gabriel looked up at Professor Willow as she spoke, green eyes wide and curious as he listened to her speech, wincing slightly at the less than reassuring statement that they /shouldn't/ run into anything dangerous. Shouldn't wasn't couldn't, which meant it was still possible. He didn't want to risk his new little friend, Cynder the Fletchling, so he really hoped everythign would go as planned.
Upon hearing who his partners would be he blinked again and looked over as Arashi approached, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips as he lifted a hand to offer an almost awkward little wave. "Looks like we're, ah...going to end up getting to know one another better, huh?" he asked softly once Professor Willow had finished talking, probably waiting for the rest of them to gather into their groups so they can start off.
For the sake of making sure he wouldn't lose her he had Cynder in her pokeball, which his fingers moved to gently ghost over out of nervous habit. He'd hate himself forever if he ever ended up losing it.
((Oh welp. xD Sorry if this isn't supergreat))

((Sorry Anya, we'd decided that before posting this thread.)) "I suppose so." Arashi responded, nodding slightly in response to the wave. Hada, his new Natu, was perched upon his shoulder at present - though Arashi would recall him at the appearance of anything he felt that the tiny bird couldn't handle. Arashi's eyes noted the ghosting of Gabriel's fingers, and he quietly speculated to himself as to the nature of precious ob ject that his team-mate was reassuring himself with. Given the exercise, he felt it a logical assumption that it was the fellow's starter, but he had little idea of what Pokemon the green-eyed teen had been paired with. After all, there were a lot of them, and he hadn't seen everyone's first meeting with their partners. Arashi was curious about both Gabriel and Jake, particularly as they would need to work together in order to pass their survival exercise. In the hopes of causing them to share information with him, he decided to volunteer some of his own. "I am competent at food preparation, and I have some skill at first aid." He offered, slightly tentatively, hopeful that the information would be taken in the spirit it was offered.
As names were called out in strings of three, the crowd was gradually beginning to coalesce into smaller groups, although there was still some delay when threes were separated by the girth of the crowd. The faculty members who were not Professor Willow were beginning to come around giving out bags of supplies for use in the woods. Each bag contained simple utensils and utilities, everyone having previously been told to bring sleeping bags and related supplies. All they were given were the basic provisions that the average trainer would be expected to take on the beginning of their journey. Nothing too elaborate, but nothing too shoddy either. Arashi regarded the packs dubiously, as though trying to assess their probable weight. Then, casting a glance at Jake, he relaxed a little. If all else failed, at least they had someone in their group who could probably lug the thing. Looking at Gabriel, it was evident that it would be unfair to let him try to carry the load unless they managed to split it somehow.

Gabriel looked over at Arashi when he spoke, nodding a bit as he offered a smile. "I've spent a good deal of my time interacting with pokemon in their natural habitat so I should be able to help us find safer paths to go through when we wander the woods. I've, ah. Gone in once or twice briefly, so I know a path we can take for a goo distance, so we won't have to worry about sliding down anything and we can be mostly shielded by trees if it rains." He rubbed the back of his neck slightly before his gaze lifted to the little round bird perched on Arashi's shoulder.
"Oh! You got a Natu! That's pretty cool," he said, trying to start a conversation. "My starter is Fletchling, and I named her Cynder. I...don't want to end up losing her in this crowd or somehow dropping her pokeball so I'm waiting until most of the people dissipate before I let her out." He rubbed his arm slightly. He was probably being too nervous about it, but Cynder already meant so much to him that he'd be devastated if something were to happen to her.
He took a moment to glance at Jake, actually glad he got put in their group for the time being. Judging by his average upper body size (judging by what he could see since Jake was clothed), he seemed like he could very easily help them with heavy things. He looked towards the forest again, green eyes scanning the entrance curiously, looking for any signs that he'd need to remember.

Jake glanced over at his new partners, calculating their talents.he had seen Arashi and Gabriel around before, but never really spoke to them. His eyes scanned the two of them. Arashi looked reasonably fit, but Gabriel was a different matter. Arashi's starter, a small natu, looked cautiously at him before turning back to Arashi, and Gabriel's starter was still in his pokeball. Looking down, he located Spark beside him and softly rubbed the top of the little yellow pokemon's head.
Stepping a little closer to them, Jake was about to say something about their strategy, but was interrupted by Professor Willow. "All right everyone!" She said, enthusiastic as always. "You will be going into these woods for a week with your Pokemon in groups of three. You must be in there for at least a week, but more is fine. Other than that, there are no other rules. Go!"
Jake looked back at his partners, and beckoned to them to follow him and Spark into the woods.

Arashi smiled, reassured that at least their group wouldn't be clueless as to direction. He himself wasn't the best when it came to navigation, being prone to frequent bouts of becoming hopelessly lost when left to his own devices. "That's useful." He commented, "And having a Fire type like yours will be handy for cooking and keeping warm." He was pleased that his own starter was approved of, though he wasn't entirely sure as to why he cared, and he was curious about those of the others. The Elekid, bright yellow and black, certainly grabbed one's attention. "Your stratagem seems reasonable, considering the possibility for small Pokemon to become lost and confused in a muddle of humans. I'm resorting to keeping Hada close as well, but he seems to get tetchy if he cannot perceive his surroundings." When the cue was given, Arashi immediately wandered along with his group, not wishing to become separated, as that would only end badly.

Gabriel looked up when Arashi spoke and seemed to approve of his choices, the lanky teen smiling and nodding slightly. "She doesn't usually seem to mind me being...overly cautious most of the time."
He nodded slightly and started after Jake, tossing up Cynder's Pokeball to let her out. He smiled, carefully putting her Pokeball away before cupping his hands to let her land in them. "Sorry I kept you in there for so long," he said gently, grinning when she chittered at him and moved to flutter to his shoulder, nestling up to his neck to stay there. He nodded slightly then looked up at Jake. "Once we get to somewhere I recognize I'll start helping to show you guys the area I was talking about, if...that's okay with you two," he offered, his ex pression sheepish. He liked to think he had an exceptional memory, but his nerves sometimes got in the way.
Well, nerves and the fact that he could only handle so much physical activity before he ended up collapsing. He did want to be a hindrance to his teammates, but he knew that they'd probably have to rest often thanks to him. The least he could do is help them to a rather safe area where they could possibly build a makeshift shelter in case it rains. They can store berries and such in there as well, one of them staying behind to guard.
Gabriel furrowed his brows as he started to think more, formulating what seemed like a sound plan in his mind, one he could discuss once he saw if it was a solid plan or not based on the current state of the area. It seemed solid now, but it was best not to jump to conclusions within this forest.

"Wait!" Professor Willow called after everyone. "I almost forgot. Be sure to take five pokeballs from the pile, as well as three healing potions and a small leather pouch." She said. Jake looked back at them. "I'll grab yours for you," he said, and broke out into a slow run across the clearing. Grabbing three bags, he stuffed three healing potions into each, then moved on to the pokeball table, where he put 5 poke balls into each of the leather bags. Running back, he gave the two bags to Arashi and Gabriel, then saw Gabriel's starter was a fletchling. Going up to Cynder, he put a hand out to her and wondered how she would react.

It figures that she'd almost forget to give us an important piece of guidance. Now I know why people associate dottiness with Professors - it isn't just Oak! Arashi mused wryly, having just nodded once more to Gabriel when Prof Willow called to them. "It would appear that we are being given the opportunity to expand our parties during the exercise." He opined, upon taking the pouch offered by Jake. "My thanks for your swift action." He added, not wishing to appear ungrateful.
Hada had been flitting around Cynder, trying to get to know the other winged Pokemon in his midst, when the human he'd glanced curiously at reached out to the Fletchling. Deciding to emulate his own human, the Natu watched to see what would come of it. He didn't know what he thought of the human strangers yet, but he was eager to find out what they were like - and whether or not they were likely to feed him.
The path ahead was well-worn, exposed ground dotted with the occasional pebble. The earthy brown surface wasn't entirely level, nor was it as solid as if it were paved, but it was reasonably stable, and was not sodden. Parts of it held Pokemon tracks, partly blurred, while others were overhung by plantlife. To those in search of adventure, it was sure to look inviting.

Noticing the Natu fluttering around, Jake withdrew his hand from Cynder, putting it in his jeans pocket and bringing out a small handful of berries. Spark perked up expectantly at the scent, and Jake separated the pile carefully, giving half to the eager Elekid. The other half he held out in his cpped palm to the Natu, wondering if it would come to him. Looking over at Arashi, Jake politely asked the Natu's name. Noticing him to be deep in thought, he glanced over at the well worn path before looking back at the hand with th berries. "We should start soon," he said, "Besides, I would like to catch a pokemon before night today."

Gabriel reached out for the pack and nodded slightly. "Thank you," he said softly, glancing at Cynder as she leaned forward towards the human's hand, tilting it slightly before she lowered her head a little bit and spread her wings to take off, taking a moment to flutter around with the little Natu before landing on Jake's outstretched hand, dark eyes staring up at the blonde human.
Gabriel let out a soft chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck a bit before he nodded and moved towards the trees. "Well, ah...the sooner we get going the sooner we can get everything set up and a system going to keep us safe," he said, looking between his companions to see how they felt.
