Welcome to the Falconius Shapeshifting Institute! Here, young shapeshifters from all over the world come to learn how to fully understand what causes their shapeshifting and how Hrasa, Goddess of the Hunt, blessed you with the abilities you have. Now, Hrasa blessed the shapeshifters with the ability to change into six animals maximum and two animals minimum, two of the earth, two of the sky, and two of the water; extinct, extant, and mythical.
We of the Falconius Shapeshifting Institute are a secret schooling institute, located in the remote wilderness of London. Meaning you have to be a shapeshifter to get a letter. Or, if you are far removed from civilization, we will come find you.
For this one, it is a shapeshifter boarding school. Obviously. I’m thinking that your characters are already students at the Institute and some will receive the letter later.
New shapeshifters to the Institute can be shown and the ropes of the school by you character.
Bit of random information: Hrasa is a goddess I made up. She is Goddess of the Hunt, the Moon, and Plague. She created the werebeasts/beastweres, therianthropes, and shapeshifters, according to my lore. She is also part of the Malues branch of the First pantheon (first-pantheon.weebly.com).

He has 'white' skin, not quite a six-pack, but is slightly muscular beneath his - what appears to be - skinny figure with his long legs. His large, blue eyes create the effect in peoples' minds as 'puppy eyes'. The horrific part is the large whip mark that is scarred, on his back, a deep crimson stripe. Personality ≡ ŀ Xavier is a dark, reserved young man who would rather stay quiet than get into a conversation. He is always hanging back in the shadows; unsocial and burdened. Congratulations on your acceptance to 'Falconis Shapeshifting Insititute'. The only school in the world that is for Shaleshifters. This school is situated in London.
We have regular sports and after and during school activities. Our academics and sports are at a very high standard. Only the best of the best are accepted.
During your breaks, after school and on weekends you may got the town by driving, walking or riding one of the school horses or your own. In the town are restaurants, take-always, a cinema and shops for your needs. There is no school uniform.
If you going during breaks or after school make sure you are back in time for class or before ten o'clock at night. This is your responsibility. After six o'clock at night, you may not be alone in the town.
We have many horse trails, running paths and an Olympic sized pool. Which, are free to use whenever. Please note that when you swim there must be a teacher or friend watching or swimming with you. Many horse trails are closed in winter as they tend to get extremely slippery for shapeshifter and horse.

Xavier gave a shy smile to Sophia as he sat down by Asher - he was probably looking a right idiot. Once he'd greeted the two, he raised his eyebrows at Asher. He'd found a girl.
"Um... Later? If that's okay?" Xavier grumbled, hastily eating his own taco he'd picked up during his wait. Hopefully this new Sophia wouldn't ask why he hadn't been in any of their classes... Considering the fact he knew that he was in at least one of Asher's. Watching the two play around, he couldn't help but see how fit they looked for each-other. Either that, or his mind was playing with him.
Rather abruptly, the strong reek of smoke filled the cafeteria. Wait... smoke? Black smoke? This wouldn't be good. What if it had spread around the institute? Great way to start his year! Attacking people and then there's a fire. Oops, bad luck.

Asher glanced at Sophia as she coughed, "Mate. Let's go." Asher told Xavier, panicking arriving. Asher shoved Sophia out the cafeteria and he stood on a table while people panicked. "Listen up!" Asher shouted, people stopped to listen and Ashe remade it quick. "Go to the fields, we should be safe there!" Asher shouted before running to the fire alarm. He sirended it and spoke into the microphone, "Go to the sport fields." he shouted into microphone.
He watched people run out and he watched black smoke fill the cafeteria. He spotted Xavier and Sophia and he jumped off the table and ran to them. He grabbed Sophia's hand and shoved Xavier and Sophia towards the door.
'Go to the sport fields!' Kept bouncing off the school's walls and he watched people gather to the fields. Asher walked to the front of the group and grabbed his phone before calling the emergency number and stating their emergency. Asher shouted, "Okay you lot. Why don't you just sit down in the sun and relax. We have the fireman coming and they shall sort out the problem quickly." Most people laughed and sat down in the sun. Asher wondered in the group and found Xavier and Sophia.

Through the smoke and wracking coughs, Xavier managed to be lead out by Asher, whilst he held tightly onto Sophia's arm when Asher pushed him forward. Asher was sensible; he was not. Asher would find a way to them, but if it was him in Asher's place, no way would he keep a cool head. He'd probably go and do something irrational.
Eventually Xavier managed to get into a group, his hand still in Sophia's arm rather tightly. He mumbled his apology as soon and let go as the headmaster's voice rang out - that tone he somewhat hated. Asher running towards them settled his nerves, yet Xavier was thoroughly concerned. He'd been in the smoke more than anyone! Was Asher okay?
"Are you okay? How much smoke did you breathe in? Do you need more oxygen?" Where the words that tumbled out of his mouth as he eyed Asher. Well, no physical damage, but maybe internal. How was his voice sounding? If it was raspy, he definitely needed oxygen. Especially if he kept coughing...

Asher went back to Sophia and kissed the top of her head and started coughing. He suddenly kept coughing and he couldn't stop. "Ambulance... I... can't... breath." Asher rasped, he saw Xavier and Sophia out the side of his eye. He let out another cough before collapsing to the ground. "If I have to go to the hospital, don't let Sophia come with me." he spoke softly when Xavier was near. He could hear sirens in the distance. He lay on the ground and coughed and shook. He let out another fit of coughs and watched people surround him. He watched the paramedics push through and put him on a stretcher. "Someone can go with." the lady said he saw someone volunteer but he closed his eyes and let darkness take him.

Xavier rushed to Asher's side in alarm as he collapsed. He understood the fact that Sophia should stay away, and when the paramedic asked for one person to go with, he gladly volunteered. Let's just hope out of Sophia and him he was chosen.
By sheer luck, Xavier was. He deftly helped Asher onto the trolley they place patients on, ((I'm terribly brain-dead o-o)) against the will of the paramedics, and quickly gave him oxygen as he was wheeled into the back of the ambulance. With one last guilty glance at Sophia, they were rushed off to the hospital. Well, not particularly on the plus side, he'd missed all of his lessons through the whole school. He'd be behind. .

[Ah, I thought I would mix it up a bit!] A few hours later Asher woke up from his sleep. He grabbed his phone and checked the time, it was two in the afternoon. He sighed and his stomach grumbled. His throat was terribly dry and as he looked around the room for water he saw Xavier. "Hey mate." Asher said dryly, "Could you get me some water please?" Asher asked. He lay in his bed and grabbed the water and drank it down slowly. At that moment a nurse walked in quickly. "Ah, Mr Austin! Glad to see you are awake." she said.
"When can I go back to school?" he asked. "Eager are you? Let me do some checks and I am sure you can leave soon." the nurse said. Asher thanked her and made small chat with Xavier. "Okay, you are good to go. There's your clothes." she pointed to them. Asher thanked her and got dressed quickly and grabbed his phone, wallet and keys. He signed himself out and headed outside with Xavier. He hailed a taxi and they were off back to school. "Thank you for staying with me mate. Thank you for not letting Sophia come." Asher thanked his best mate before stepping out the taxi and walking to his dorm. He spotted his bag lying on the ground and he picked it up and dumped it on his bed and sighed.
"I just need to tell Sophia I am good and then how about we go get some pizza or some other junk food?" Asher asked. Hey! I am out of hospital, maybe going to town to get some grub? Wanna come? He texted quickly and turned to Xavier.

When Asher woke up, Xavier looked alarmed, yet over-joyed at the same time. At the asking for water, he gladly gave it to his best mate. Nothing in the world mattered at the moment. All he wanted to do was stick by his friend's side.
Once he was changed, Xavier was surprised to see he was back to his old self - even a lot happier. Well, he did kiss Sophia earlier, and Xavier always got the impression people were giddy after their first love, all that weird jazz. He had never understood love. "Well, that's what friends are for. Don't blame me if she violently attacks me, though." He joked, giving his friend a light nudge.
The drive home from the taxi wasn't very long - not to mention Xavier insisted that he'd pay, considering the fact Asher had had a rough enough time. "Already, you want junk?" He snorted, again holding back laughter. He continued, "So, are you and Sophia together now?" Xavier wiggled his eye-brows playfully.
"Oh, and I'll tell you all about why I was told to go to the school nurse. Just don't let thag girlfriend of yours spread anything."

[eee! He kissed Sophia in the public forums but I will add that Asher kissed Sophia in somewhere!] Asher laughed, "Nope. Just good friends I guess." he said. "I guess I do like her." Asher said and wiggled his own eyebrows. "Well, I am off to go get some junk food and you are coming with, Sophia will also be coming." he said as he read her text saying yes. Great, Xavier and I will meet you at the stables. He sent it and locked their dorm's door and he walked to the stables. He grabbed his tack and brushed his horse and saddled her up. He stepped outside his stable and saw Sophia look around. "Hey." Asher said softly. Sophia looked at him and smiled, "Asher!" she shouted.
Asher opened his arms for her to walk into. He hugged her and smiled and kissed her on the top of her head. "I am going to tack up my horse quickly." she said. Asher nodded and led his horse out the stable and saw Xavier come as well. He smiled and soon saw Sophia mounted already. "This is Royal Rain, or just Rain is fine." she said, introducing her short legged horse. "This is Falcon, I call him Toto. Xavier's horse is Amethyst." Asher said and kicked his horse on to walk.
Asher chatted with Sophia and Xavier the whole way there and he saw the town from above the hill. He kicked his horse on and whooped like he was an Indian. When he had reached the bottom he un-tacked his horse and put him inside one of the stables. Once they were out, he held Sophia's hand and out the corner of his eye he saw her looked down and smile. Asher smiled and turned to Xavier. "So, how about we get some pizza and then you can tell us?" Asher asked Xavier. Without waiting for an answer he ran away to the pizza shop.
"Asher, nice to see you." the man behind the counter said and pulled him in for an awkward bro hug over the counter. "Hey Kenny. This is Sophia and Xavier, friends from school. This is Kenny, he's a horse trainer." Asher introduced them. "You got yourself a filly I see?" Kenny asked. Asher laughed and smiled before ruffling Xavier's hair. "Yeah, my little filly." he said, pointing towards Xavier. Kenny laughed and they placed in there orders. Asher paid for all the pizzas and took the pizzas and went to sit outside. "My break is in a few minutes, I'll meet you outside." he said. Asher nodded and sat down on the grass before flopping down. He sat up again and smiled at Xavier, "Pizza." he breathed, making it dramatic. He opened the boxes and slapped their hands away. "First, we thank the pizza shop for the pizza. Close your eyes." he said. Once they had closed their eyes, Asher peeked and grabbed a piece of pizza. "Okay. I wanted first piece." he said and watched them open their eyes. "Anything for junk food!" Xavier exclaimed, twirling his 'long hair' with his fingers like an excited little girl. Laughing at Asher, he followed him out to the stables and took Amethyst. She was eating greedily from a hay-net in her stable - she was quite the struggle to drag away from. Her bridle was slipped on easily - with complaints about the bit - and the saddle even more so. A brief introduction of Amethyst settled things. Kicking his horse from an extended canter to a steady gallop, Xavier listened to Asher's whooping, and couldn't help but whoop alongside him.
Following Asher's lead and putting away his horse, there was no time to reply as Asher fled to the pizza place. He did love his food... As they arrived in the shop, Xavier stiffened. Hostile; again. They were joking, he knew, but even when Asher ruffled his hair as a friendly gesture he only gave a snort. A snort of disbelief, really. The pizza was quickly in Asher's grasp, where he gasped 'pizza' dramatically. Ignorantly, Xavier just stayed stiff. Typical him.
When Asher told them to close their eyes, he grumpily shut them as his best mate took the first slice. Eventually, Asher told him to spill. Loosening up, he began,
"Okay. Well, I was stalking this girl. Maybe not stalking, but... checking on. She seemed special. I never picked up her name, though. "This guy seemed very excited about something she had. Nor did I pick that up but they ran to the head-master. There they said she could turn into a unicorn; she tried twice, and failed. I had a good feeling about her, though, and threw a fit on the head-master. "There I flung him into the wall in my wolf form, dug my claws into him, transformed back and then literally spat in his face. I was telling him to give her anothet chance. I don't have a crush on her, she just seemed to be giving off a good feeling. So I stormed out and began throwing rocks at pigeons."
Once finished, Xavier laughed hysterically to himself. An odd story to laugh at...

Asher looked at Sophia and shrugged and laughed, it was fake but was convincing. Sophia laughed as well, she tried. Asher took another piece of pizza and stuffed his face and tried to do something to stop the awkward silence. "Hiya." Kenny said and sat between Sophia and Asher. Sophia pulled a face and shifted a little bit off and then sat next to Xavier. "I was finally able to get off my shift. But it's only for like 5 minutes." he said. He grabbed a piece of pizza and ate it so slowly that 5 minutes went by quickly. "See ya later, Ash." he said before walking back to the pizza shop.
Asher growled at the nickname and glared at Kenny. "Sorry, he's changed. He used to be cool and now he's boring." Asher apologised. The sun was setting slowly and Asher threw the pizza boxes in the bin. "I guess we better get going." Asher said and helped Sophia up. Asher walked in front of Xavier with Sophia, holding her hand once again. He leaned on her softly and they reached the stables quickly. He tacked his horse up and rode next to Xavier. Sophia went up ahead, she had something she needed to do.
"Hey." Asher said softly, they weren't talking and Asher was afraid he had done something wrong. "Seen any girls around campus?" Asher asked, a smirk was stuck on his face as he looked at Xavier.

Although Xavier was only partially fake laughing, the others sounded like they actually found it amusing. Odd, but satisfactory. He just reached out for a slice of pizza, slowly consuming it as a silence drawled on. Maybe that was a bit too far. The man he knew to be Kenny came strolling over, causing Xavier to stiffen up - especially when he shot Kenny a cold, hard glare as he sat between the two lovers. Well, good riddance as he left.
Xavier agreed on the point of Kenny not being fun, wondering why Asher was even apologizing. It's not his fault that the man had grown so naïve and preposterous. They both stood up, hand in hand, and walked past him just as he rose. The stables wasn't far, at all. Even with his horse, Xavier stayed silent as he tacked her up and mounted her. As he started at a walk, Asher's cocky voice was to be beard.
"No." Xavier spat, keeping his eyes on the track before him. "I don't trust many people. Love is a waste of time, anyways." The silence then that followed was deafening in a manner of sorts. "Sorry... It's just that when the head-master told me I should see a nurse or something I thought... I mean... Am I a psychopath?" He nearly choked on the words as he began to trot ahead of Asher.

Asher sighed and trotted to catch up. "Hey." Asher said, "I don't think so. So what that you don't trust many people? Love is a waste of time, until you find someone that you truly care about." Asher said. He sighed, "I will see you later, mate." he said before sitting deep in the saddle and cantering.
He saw Sophia walking out the stable. "Wait for me." Asher said. He un-tacked his horse quickly and put the tack away and kissed his horse goodnight before running out the stable to Sophia. He slipped his hand into hers and squeezed, she squeezed it back. "Where's Xavier?" she asked. "I guess we had a bit of a disagreement." Asher signed and rubbed the back of his neck.
Sophia turned to face him, "It's okay to have fights." she whispered. Asher nodded, "Asher what are we?" she asked, looking down. "What do you mean?" Asher asked leaning closer, so his lips were a few inches away from hers."What are we?" she asked quietly. "We can be anything you want to be." he whispered softly before kissing her on the lips.
He smiled into the kiss and he could feel her smiling as well. "So, it's official?" she whispered. He nodded his head before keying her again. Out the corner of his eye he saw a person and he pulled away and reached for her hand.
He led her towards the dorms. He kissed her good night before writing a note to Xavier. I've gone to sleep over at a friend. He placed the note on his pillow before throwing some pajamas and some clothes into his back pack. He grabbed his phone, wallet and keys and locked the door behind him. He jogged to Andrew's dorm and knocked on the door.
Andrew opened the door and grinned. "Hi, come on in." Andrew said. Asher smiled and hurried inside and closed the door shut with his foot. He smiled at the empty bunk, "Yeah. The other one went out." Andrew said. Andrew fell asleep quickly and so did Asher.
The next morning, Asher got dressed and asked Andrew what is happening with school. "School's cancelled for the rest of the week." he said, Asher grinned before thanking him and leaving his dorm. He arrived at his dorm and went in quietly packed his stuff away and left.

Xavier sighed as Asher cantered ahead, and allowed him to. Instead he decides to trot most of the way, with a few walks in between. "See you later... " He grumbled, thinking thoroughly over what Asher had just said. Until you find someone who you truly care about. Yes, true, but unconvincing. He just wasn't ready for anything or anyone.
After a long period of waiting, Xavier reached the stables, dismounted and untacked his horse. He placed the head-collar (halter) on her, tied her up with a quick-release knot and left a sign on her door: to be turned out at night. With a dullness to his step, he dragged himself through the institute and into his dorm where, there, he found a note on his pillow from Asher. This was quite good. Asher would probably want some time away from him after what he'd said, and he just needed time alone.
Without bothering to get changed at all, Xavier flung a knife at his wall, clambered into into his bed and closed his eyes. Sleep didn't come easily, though - the guilt after what he'd said to Asher was still clinging to him like a gruesome mask.

Xavier awoke abruptly, only just realizing he'd slept in his clothes. Great. At least there was no school for the rest of the week. He hadn't even been to a single class so far and, currently, his reputation wasn't so good - at all. Especially after announcing the story to Sophia. Finding his knife still stuck in the wall, he pulled it out and threw it back in again repeatedly. It helped him with stress, most of the time.
"Hey." Xavier hissed accidentally, still hurling his knife to and from the wall as his room-mate entered. . "Um... I mean, hey... " He corrected himself politely, giving a weak smile. When he'd corrected himself, he'd turned and flung the knife beside Asher. Oops...
Xavier gave a sheepish grin and scratched the back of his head anxiously, glancing from Asher to the knife. Boy, thag was close! Any closer to Asher and he'd have a nasty scar there forever. It would almost be a resemblance of his own, if he dared think in that way.

Asher jumped in fright away from the knife, looking at the knife and how close that was to him. He shook his head sadly before heading out the door and slamming it shut. He felt the walls shake beside him and he didn't get far until he collapsed and slide down the wall. He buried his head into his hands and shook his head. This really wasn't going well.
He got up before wondering down the stairs, "Mr Austin?" Mr John shouted out his office. Asher wondered into the office and sat down in the chair. "How are you feeling after the trip to the hospital?" he asked, not looking up from his papers. "Fine." he said. Mr John looked up curiously, "What's wrong?" he asked. "I got close to Xavier. We were good but we got in a small disagreement. I went to sleep over at a friend to give each other some space. I go back and he's throwing a knife. He threw it close to me. On accident, but I guess I'm a bit freaked out." Asher said. Mr John nodded, "How about switching to another dorm for awhile?" he asked. Asher nodded.
It was all set, he was going to room with Andrew for awhile. He thank Mr John and walked to his room with Andrew. He laughed at a joke as they walked and he quickly packed some clothes and his laptop and hurrying out. He packed his stuff into Andrew's dorm before saying goodbye.
He walked done the hall ways and spotted Sophia. He kissed her hello and they walked hand in hand towards the sport field. "What's wrong?" she asked. He explained the situation quickly and she cringed. She leaned onto him as they watched the sun. He took out his phone, Hi Xavier. I will be staying in Andrew's dorm for awhile to have some space. He sent it. Sophia read the text, "He'll know he did something wrong. You called him Xavier, not mate." she said.
Asher groaned before getting up, Sophia know he needed space so she went somewhere else. Asher headed to another cafeteria that wasn't burnt. He sat down at a table and pushed his Mac and cheese around he saw someone sit down. He hoped it was Andrew or one of gang members.

As soon as Asher left the room, Xavier knew he'd done everything wrong. He'd really messed up this time. He just sat: staring at the door Asher had slammed. What was getting into him? His 'mate' probably thought he was a psychopath. He was, wasn't he?
A tear slipped down his cheek as he flung open the door, past the cafeteria - where he saw Asher eating - and out the same back route of the school he'd gone through twice now. He completely ignored his buzzing phone. Sprinting into the forest, he shifted abruprty into his wolf form, his paws churning viciously at the Earth as he pushed on, past all the places he'd been fo before. But then, sudden realization dawned on him as it had so similarly before. Yet this time... The realization was shocking.
Should he go feral?
Maybe for only a small while... No. Then nobody would accept him back. Even if Xavier stayed, more trouble would be taunting him at every corner. He'd done things he had regretted a long time a go, yet he was still in his early teens at that time. This choice was hard. Very hard.
A long time ago, he'd read up about when a shifter becomes feral. He/she chooses a form and, if they haven't completed entire control over the form yet, they can let the part of them they haven't controlled be lost and then they'd be like a true version of their chosen animal. It was legend; myth, but maybe he could try. Xavier shifted back, checked his phone before texting,
