Basic stuff: You girl. Me boy. Silliness and stomach-ripping romance so girly and ridiculous it can induce vomiting.

Personality: He's... kind of quiet. A bit moody. Perhaps easily annoyedon occasion. He tries to be a nice guy, really But everyone is just so annoying. Always talking... Ick.

Personality: Nikki is sometimes very shy, but if you talk with her one on one, she opens up a bit more easily. She also tends to have two sides. Sometimes very stubborn, sometimes doing anything she can to please you. She becomes very moody. Like I said before, sometimes shy. But sometimes, she easily can stand up to anyone and say how she feels.

People. There were just too many of them. Alexander looked at a group of younger teens reproachfully, trying to get them to shut up by sheer force of will. They just stared at him, until eventually he won, as they were creeped out enough to leave. He sat back on his park bench with a contented sigh, taking in the peace of the quiet, early summer day. It was the perfect temperature, with a slight breeze and clear skies. The world as blossoming and vibrant, enjoying the day asmuch as Alexander was.

People were the only downside to enjoying a day in the park. They seemed to be everywhere, behind every tree. Seoul had been crowded, but Central Park was downright ridiculous. If he had known, surely he never would have left his home. But now here he was, in the middle of getting a degree in Rennaisance history with a double minor of Italian and Latin, without any hope o transferring back to Seoul. After only one year of college, returning home would be disgraceful. So he had to suffer. Poor, poor Alexander.

Do you mind if Nikki is in a apartment too? Usually at least one of my charactars stays in one, and I'm not playing my guy, soo...? :) I'll change it if you hate me OHSO much for doing the same thing. D: I don't want her to be still living with her parents.

Though the summer was just beginning, Nikki's anxiety about her next year in college was getting worse and worse. It was as if that was all she could think about. Unfortunately, she hasn't started her major yet, just doing normal subjects. She hasn't decided on Forensics, or Physician yet, sadly. (ME </3)
Through out her starting days of summer, mostly she has been cleaning up her apartment that she just moved in to. Her first year in college, she knew she couldn't handle alone, so she stayed with her parents so her mother could help her. But, now she was on too the second year, and knew she had to be on her own. Her apartment was just about ready to 'live in' yesterday, all the details finished with how she wanted things. Even the cable guy came already. No worries here.
Of course, just staying in the apartment was only making unneccessary worries about school worse. Maybe some excersise would make her feel better. Excersise always takes away negative thoughts.
After dressing in to a bathing suit type top, and work-out material shorts that came to mid thigh, she locked her door and started for the park. When she first found the apartment complex, she passed by this large park, that had a path to run that rounded the edges. It was at least a mile per lap.
She chose to walk to the park, and start her jog once she got up there. But that plan got ruined when she got impatient on taking so long to get there. Change of plans, jog now. Walk later.
Once she got to the park, which didn't take that long, she slowed to a walk. She passed many benches, each one calling her name, but she didn't give in to a rest.

The blue shiny benches were calling her name. Nikki could just hear them now, tempting her by saying 'You ran long enough on the way here.' and, 'Take a break. It'll be a short one.'
Finally, with all the nagging that went on inside her head, and the terrible acheing in her restless body, a bench that had someone already sitting in it came into view. She couldn't wait until the next bench popped into sight, so she chose to go to the bench closest to her.

Nikki tended to get shy, but always liked to look friendly, even if she got a bit nervous. With a shy, yet, crooked smile, she sat down next to the guy, turned her head to him and asked,

"Mind if I sit here for...A moment?" Her body was begging for it to be more then a moment though, and she knew that now that she gave in to the benches, she wouldn't be able to get up so easily to run.

She noticed the guy was reading a book. She adored reading, and couldn't help but ask,

"What are you reading?"

Don't look at her don't look at her do- Crap. With a sigh Alexander shrugged, meeting her gae only briefly. His voice had an odd accent to it when he spoke, having become fluent in five languages during his earlier schooling, and being in the process of learning two more. When the brain tries to perfect and store so many accents, the inevitably ends up blending, and slipping in so that no matter what language Alexander was speaking, he had a definite wrong accent for that language. He managed to be understandable, but only just.

"Since there is no one else, and I am not the owner of this bench, I suppose you may. As for the book, I am reading The Waterborn. It is quite interesting, but a bit above the level of... most people." Though his voice and ex
pression remained coolly distant those last to words had a certain intention. Alexander would never say what it was, and he made sure to put n unneeded inflection on them. He had no doubt that this... girl... would have the intellect enough to catch the meaning. Perhaps, then, she would leave him alone.

With this quiet sense of superiority he leveled his clear, silvery gray eyes on the intruder into this special downtime. The gaze was not an outright rude one, or outright anything. It was rather old and emotionless, making it as sharp as ice.

The accent the guy had made her slightly confused. It was a mixture that she couldn't quite put a finger on.
"Yeah, I never heard of that book..." She started, mentally noting that he seemed very distant towards her - she guessed, he was probably like that towards anyone; maybe shy. Whatever it was made her feel awkward. 'cause
of that, she chose to stay silent, and of course, stay on the other side of the bench. The bench was covered with some drops of water, probably from the drizzle of rain that early morning. Unfortunately, she already sat on it, so she guessed her legs were all wet now.

Lovely. That silenced her quite nicely. Efficient and effective as always. Alexander went back to his book, and it took him a moment to realize that manging to quiet the girl hadn't given him the victorious feeling such a thing usually would have. He searched for it, but it simply wasn't there. In it's place was a feeling of... regret? Never. This was just a fluke. Soon that rush of happiness he usually got from cutting people away from him would appear any second.

Or not.

That was quite odd. In an attempt to remedy the discomfort that pressed down on his chest he looked away from the book, not quite meeting her gaze. "It's a very good book. The author has managed to create an amazing world similar enough to ours to provide a frame of reference, but different enough to make me feel transported. The plot is also very interesting." Biting his cheek Alexander finally met her eyes, holding out his free hand. "My name is Alexander."

Believing that there wasn't going to be any more conversation between the two, Nikki leaned back rested her head against the benches edge and drowned in the beautiful weather around her. So many people walked past her and the guy next to her. After moving her legs so that a toddler wouldn't trip over them, she was then realizing that today wasn't a good day for jogging around the park because of so many people there.
Just when she was about to get up, knowing her first try at making a friend didn't succeed, the reserved boy next to her was speaking again. Which surprised her.
"Nikki Smith." She said, softly before taking his hand and shaking it. After letting go, she added, "But, just call me Nikki."
She felt kind of stupid saying that, because it was self - explainatory not to call someone by their last name all the time, but the words slipped out before she could think about what she as saying. To change the subject, she pointed to the book,
"Who's the author?"

He smiled. It felt strange and out of place to smile at something that didn't have pages or incredible acting, but he did it. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Nikki. It's by J. Gregory Keyes. He's a very good writer. Did you enjoy your jog? You seem quite thoroughly exhausted, not that it's any of my business." And it wasn't. What right didhe have to ask her anything? Why was he still asking these talking to a complete stranger?

Not only a stranger, a native. That was just downright nonsense. Why gie up all these years of carefully removing himself from the community only to be pulled right back in by a pair of amber eyes? But no, not a native. Australian. Well, better than American, but not by much. He couldn't look nto those eyes too much longer, so turned away to admire the foliage that surrounded them.
