Your teachers have decided on giving you one of these three pokemon:
Slugma
Elekid
Snubbull
Pick one, and write your first role play entry as you receiving this pokemon, your first interaction with it, and nicknaming it. End your first entry by you picking up your pokedex. Be sure to read the introduction posted on the application forum!!
Make sure to include in OOC text the two egg moves that you pick for your pokemon to have. ((OOC text is in parenthesis like this))

I looked down at the pokeball in my hands. Please let it be vulpix. I prayed silently. Grinning at the teachers, I pressed the button, determined not to let my nervousness show. In a blast of light, the pokeball opened and out popped a pokemon. Elekid. My shock registered slowly, but, the elekid looked up at me and I had no choice but to grin and shrug. It could be much worse. He was obviously male, and as I looked down, a name popped into my head. "Spark." I said out loud. "His name is Spark." Spark rubbed up against me and I ran my fingers through his short fur. a spark of electricity jolted me, spiking up my already spiked hair and I drew back my hand in surprise before grinning again and putting my hand on top of the little pokemon's head. [quick attack and tackle are his starter moves] Walking over to my desk, I picked up my pokedex and stared blankly at the screen. (is it ok if at some point I get a charmander and vulpix?)

((You need to pick two egg moves. Egg moves can be found tle="here." target="_blank">here. And you'll have to wait and see!))
You held the device on its side. It was the size of an iPhone when closed, but when you pushed the buttons on the sides of the small box, two doors (previously undetectable up to that point) slid open from the front to reveal a small touch screen. A third screen rose from the top, displaying a 'loading' screen.
"This is called a pokedex," said one of your professors, holding an exact replica of your device in his hands. He opened it in the same manner, pressing on the two side buttons. "Once you put your information into the dex, it will take you to this screen." The professor plugged his pokedex into a computer, which projected both screens onto the wall for the whole group to see.
The top screen had six blank boxes, under a section labeled "Party Pokemon." The display box currently had no pokemon registered. Your professor smiled, and took out a pokeball, releasing a pidgey onto the desk.
"You may register pokemon like so," he said. He then aimed the pokedex at the pidgey and pressed the two side buttons once again. A red light scanned the pidgey, and a picture of it appeared in one of his blank boxes. He explained that the dex would hold information for all pokemon that you capture, and you can edit which pokemon it displays as your party pokemon manually.
He touched the box with the pidgey on the top screen with his finger, opening a new screen. This one listed the height and weight for the pidgey, as well as the moves it knew, the gender, and what level it was.
Exiting out of this screen, he showed how the badge system worked. In his palm he held a sample badge. He pushed a button on the bottom screen called "Badge Registration." This button exploded outward when he touched it, leaving a red target behind on the bottom touch screen. He placed the badge on the screen, and like magic the badge dissolved into the pokedex, much the same way a pokemon dissolves into a pokeball.
After the badge was absorbed, a new screen popped up, showing two TM's. "Each leader you face, if you face one, will have two TM's registered to their badge. You may select one of them." He clicked one of the TM's, and the pokedex beeped and returned to the home screen. Now on the left side of the top screen there was a "Badges: 1" button. He clicked it, pulling up the sample badge.
The touch screen at the bottom always displayed a QWERTY keyboard, as well as a button for TM/HM moves. He clicked this button, and clicked on the TM Roost that he had taken from the badge. He then aimed the pokedex at the pidgey and pressed the two side buttons once again. Light flowed in white sparkles from the pokedex to the bird pokemon, and just like that, the pidgey learned roost.
"Any questions?" he asked? Your pokedex prompted you with some questions.
"When you type your name in, your trainer card will pop up. Click yes to confirm it is you, and your information will be registered. Then, you are free to go."
NAME? your pokedex asked you.
((Picture the pokedex almost like a nintendo 3DS in structure, only both screens are touch screens! If you have questions ask "the professor."))

(ahh, sorry. Fire Punch and hammer arm, I guess.) I looked down at Spark, smiling, before inputting "Jake" into the pokedex. "Is this you?" The pokedex asked. Hitting "Yes", I looked back at Spark curiously, and aimed the pokedex at him. The light scanned the confused elekid before registering the information on the screen. "Kid?" Spark asked me, befuddled. He looked up at me, his large eyes holding a questioning intelligence in them. I ran my fingers through his short hair again, and the quick shock ran up my arm again, but I didn't withdraw my hand. I was learning fast about this odd little pokemon that was to become my lifelong partner, and knew without looking down at him that the shocks were signs of happiness. I began scratching him behind the ears like my father's Arcanine loved, and he rubbed up against me with pleasure. "Kidd...." He let out softly, eyes almost closing in obvious bliss. Looking up from my delighted little pokemon, I met the Professor's eyes. "So, what's next?" I asked, grinning.

Your professor smiled. "Well, the banquet is out back in the courtyard," she said, pointing in a general direction. "There are a few battlefields set up, where the trainers can test their skills. Your parents should be there too, I think. That is, if they came."Around you, the other trainers are leaving. A few have already gone. You see a girl named Jessica and her totodile leaving. You don't know much about her, aside from her fascination with water types. Two twins, and their respective pidgey and hoothood, followed her out the door. The last to leave was a quiet girl and her abra. That left you alone in the room. You could go to the banquet, or just text your parents and leave, but going to the banquet would allow you to meet some people and test your skills. It sounds like the best option.

(It's ok. Sorry for the short post, I'm in a hurry.) I walk down the tiled hallway, nodding at Jessica and exiting the building through a large blue door. Heading out to the banquet, I see that the familiar stocky shape of my dad is there, and beside him the ruffled fur of Liam. I run over to him, smiling, and he catches me an a large Bear Hug, holding me in his arms tightly as Liam rubs up against my legs. "What did you get?" he asks excitedly, and I beckon to Spark, who is hiding behind my legs. "An Elekid!" he exclaims and I nod before turning and saying over my shoulder, "I'll be back soon, ok?" I amble over to the banquet table and start helping myself to the food. Bringing my plate loaded with spaghetti and cookies over to a table, I wolf it down, and laugh as Spark tries a cookie, before finally heading over to the arena to test out Spark's moves.

You notice that in the arena there are three battlefields. Jessica and her totodile has taken one, the twins are battling it out on the other, but it is the third that catches your attention. "You seriously suck," says the trainer across from the girl. Carlos is his name, you remember, and he battles strong with his zubat. Watching the battle, you can see the type disadvantage that the girl has with her caterpie on the ground. Carlos is going at her, the zubat hitting hard, and zipping away, only to circle back around and hit again. "What a loser!" he laughs, as the zubat knocks the bug pokemon on its side. It's clearly knocked out, and the girl runs onto the battlefield, trying to pick it up. "Hmph," he says, and flicks his wrist slightly. The zubat spins and hits the bug again. "Pie!" it cries out. "Lucky!" the girl cries, grabbing it and picking it up. "He was out, you saw that!" she said, through tears on her face. Carlos shrugged. "What, he could have gotten up, you don't know that!" "Liar!" she said, and sprinted over to the table, pulling out a potion and spraying it on the poor little pokemon. "Anyone else?" he asked, tauntingly, spreading his arms wide.

"I challenge you," I say, stepping up boldly onto the platform. I catch my father's eye on the sideline, and he winks at me, grinning. This is either the bravest or stupidest thing I have ever done. I think to myself. I look into Carlos's eyes, glaring at the bully full on before stepping into the center of the arena. Spark growls at the zubat. "Kidd..." he says menacingly, and steps forward. I put on my game face, saying to Carlos, "I'm ready when you are."

The type advantage isn't missed by Carlos, and he takes a step back, eyes widening a little. "A-anyone else?" he askes weakly. What a coward. "No?" He sighs looking over at you, and recomposes himself. "We'll just have to show tough-guy who's running this show.""Ba!" cried the bat pokemon, zipping around the battlefield. You approach the court, sending Spark out to the center.
((During battles, you can command your pokemon to make moves, and react to the moves your opponent makes. You may only say commands, I will decide if what is said actually happens.))

"Ace, fly up high, then come around with a bite!" he ordered. The zubat began to take to the skies. Spark was running towards him, jumping to use a fire punch. He pulled back his arm, his fist lit on fire, and...He missed. He swung just under the bat pokemon, twisting in the air and landing on his feet. The zubat came around for a bite, and Spark lunged, tackling the flying type before it could land a hit. Ace spun in the air, managing to stay flying, and righted himself. "Go for the bite again, and then poison sting!" cried Carlos. The zubat began once again flapping for altitude.

Spark listened to your commands, not taking his eyes off of Ace, who was now descending onto him. At the right moment, the elekid ducked, immediately bringing his head back up and headbutting the zubat in the stomach."Baa!" screeched the flying type as it went spinning through the air. He righted himself once more, spiraling downward and shooting poisonous barbs form his mouth. The fire punch was up next, and the flames managed to ignite the poison sting, burning through it like oil and negating the attack. But Spark also missed, having flinched, anticipating getting a face-full of poison. He was just as surprised as the zubat was when the attack burned up in the air. The pokemon faced off again, with the zubat flapping its wings slowly, barely able to stay afloat. One more hit, and he looked like he would be done.

Nodding, Spark bared his fangs, squaring off to the zubat. "Give him a poison sting to the face, Ace!" Carlos said, laughing at his own little rhyme. What a weirdo. "Baa!" screeched the pokemon, diving once again towards Spark. Expecting it this time, and knowing he had an ace in the hole, he lit his fist on fire, shielding himself from the poison sting. Then, he lit his other fist, swinging around and doing an uppercut, taking Ace down. He was out for the count. You hadn't noticed how many people had gathered to watch until they all started clapping and cheering for you. Carlos ran to the center of the battlefield to pick up Ace. Spark jogged back to you, smiling. The girl that had the caterpie approached you as well, shyly. She held her pokemon in her arms and looked down, clearly nervous about saying anything. "Th-thank you," she murmured.

I smiled, then looked down at the caterpie. "It was nothing, I replied, hugging Spark close before turning away from her and back to Carlos. "Good match," I said, unable to hide the smirk that crossed my face. Not waiting for an answer, I turned back towards my parents and laughed as Liam detached himself from my father and raced over to me,. My dad looked on, his blue eyes twinkling with merriment and joy, and even my mom had come over. "Great job, Sweetie!" she said enthusiastically, her marill, Lia, bouncing excitedly beside her, and I pulled her into a short hug before stepping back and looking at my father. He held his arms out and I hugged him close, knowing that since I was to leave on my adventure soon, I should savor his smell of pine needles, smoke, and all things outdoorsy. Finally the embrace ended and I looked down at Spark, more happy then I had been in a long time. Suddenly, I stooped over and picked him up, swinging him around and up to my shoulders. "Kidd!" he exclaimed in delight, loving being able to see the world from a higher height than his two and a half feet. I made my way over to the buffet once again, grabbing a plateful of chocolate chip cookies and grapes, which Spark seemed to already be addicted to. I walked over to my professor, who was watching the battle, and asked after swallowing, "So, what did you think? Any tips before I set off?"
