Your teachers have decided on giving you one of these three pokemon:
Pikachu
Abra
Growlithe
Pick one, and write your first role play entry as you receiving this pokemon, your first interaction with it, and nicknaming it. End your first entry by you picking up your pokedex.
Make sure to include in OOC text the two egg moves that you pick for your pokemon to have. ((OOC text is in parenthesis like this))

Levi took a step back as the pedestal rose up. Once it settled, his eyes went immediately to the Pokedex out of interest, but curiosity got the better of him and he picked up the Pokeball. A bit of doubt came over him. What if his Pokemon disliked him and was uncooperative? Or if it wasn't capable of being a useful Pokemon? Well, there was no way to find out except for seeing it for himself.
He aimed the Pokeball at the ground in front of him an let it out. A burst of white light revealed a little yellow rodent. It shook its head and scratched at its jaw with a hind paw before looking up at Levi with a curious ex pression.
Levi smiled in satisfaction. A Pikachu, and a male one based on the shape of its tail. At the very least, his teachers came to a good conclusion about a good partner for him. Now, did it have a good personality?
He crouched down in front of it. "Now don't shock me," he murmured, reaching out to rub the top of its head. Pikachu let out a happy "Ka~" and closed its eyes, leaning into the petting. When Levi stopped, it climbed up his arm to settle on his left shoulder, nuzzling its cheek against his, which he awkwardly allowed. Friendly was good, he supposed.
Now for the Pokedex. He rolled his shoulder to force Pikachu to shift into a position comfortable for them both before he stood up and picked up the Pokedex.

You held the device on its side. It was the size of an iPhone when closed, but when you pushed the buttons on the sides of the small box, two doors (previously undetectable up to that point) slid open from the front to reveal a small touch screen. A third screen rose from the top, displaying a 'loading' screen.
"This is called a pokedex," said one of your professors, holding an exact replica of your device in his hands. He opened it in the same manner, pressing on the two side buttons. "Once you put your information into the dex, it will take you to this screen." The professor plugged his pokedex into a computer, which projected both screens onto the wall for the whole group to see.
The top screen had six blank boxes, under a section labeled "Party Pokemon." The display box currently had no pokemon registered. Your professor smiled, and took out a pokeball, releasing a pidgey onto the desk.
"You may register pokemon like so," he said. He then aimed the pokedex at the pidgey and pressed the two side buttons once again. A red light scanned the pidgey, and a picture of it appeared in one of his blank boxes. He explained that the dex would hold information for all pokemon that you capture, and you can edit which pokemon it displays as your party pokemon manually.
He touched the box with the pidgey on the top screen with his finger, opening a new screen. This one listed the height and weight for the pidgey, as well as the moves it knew, the gender, and what level it was.
Exiting out of this screen, he showed how the badge system worked. In his palm he held a sample badge. He pushed a button on the bottom screen called "Badge Registration." This button exploded outward when he touched it, leaving a red target behind on the bottom touch screen. He placed the badge on the screen, and like magic the badge dissolved into the pokedex, much the same way a pokemon dissolves into a pokeball.
After the badge was absorbed, a new screen popped up, showing two TM's. "Each leader you face, if you face one, will have two TM's registered to their badge. You may select one of them." He clicked one of the TM's, and the pokedex beeped and returned to the home screen. Now on the left side of the top screen there was a "Badges: 1" button. He clicked it, pulling up the sample badge.
The touch screen at the bottom always displayed a QWERTY keyboard, as well as a button for TM/HM moves. He clicked this button, and clicked on the TM Roost that he had taken from the badge. He then aimed the pokedex at the pidgey and pressed the two side buttons once again. Light flowed in white sparkles from the pokedex to the bird pokemon, and just like that, the pidgey learned roost.
"Any questions?" he asked? Your pokedex prompted you with some questions.
"When you type your name in, your trainer card will pop up. Click yes to confirm it is you, and your information will be registered. Then, you are free to go."
NAME? your pokedex asked you.
((Picture the pokedex almost like a nintendo 3DS in structure, only both screens are touch screens! If you have questions ask "the professor."))

Levi only half paid attention to what he was being said, instead seeming more interested in observing his Pokedex. He knew how a Pokedex worked, and nothing the teacher really said was news to him. Pikachu seemed to be paying attention, however, as if it was trying to be a good Pokemon by being attentive.
He entered his name into the Pokedex and clicked confirm. Then he aimed the Pokedex at Pikachu to register it in his party and checked its information. He was curious how strong the Pokemon that were given to students were, and if it varied in size and weight from what was listed as average for one. With that done, he started making his way out slipping the Pokeball into his pocket as he read the Pokedex entry.
The move-list caught his attention. Two in particular did actually. Thunder Punch and Present. Present was Delibird's signature move, and Thunder Punch was pretty powerful so was probably also bred into it. "So you've got Delibird somewhere in your line," he murmured. "Interesting." Present would be an interesting move in battle.

As you left the room, you noticed a few of the students following you, as well as their pokemon. Just in behind you, was Yazmine. You knew her name, and little else, aside from the fact that she constantly talked about water type pokemon. She was followed closely by a Squirtle.Behind you were two twins, Sam and Cam. They waited to leave the room with their two opposite gendered Nidoran. Suddenly, another student shoved you aside and left the room, an Ekans at his heels. He smirked as he left. Carson. You didn't know much about him, aside from the fact he was an *censored*. As you left the room, walking down the hallway, you heard a voice. "Levi, wait up!" Jessica was coming up beside you, an Eevee at her feet. You have known her since you first started at the Violet Academy. "What kind of pokemon did you get?"

((What's Pikachu's level so I know what additional moves it has? Also does it vary from the average height and weight in any way?))
Levi glared after Carson and took a step aside, out of range of his Ekans's striking distance. A look of disgust crossed his face seeing the pre-evolution of the Pokemon that had caused his hatred of Poison types. Appropriate pairing for sure. Pikachu sparked up a little, ready to fight as it sensed its trainer's disdain for the pair.
He was snapped back to attention by Jessica. He gave her a rather questioning look and pointed to the Pikachu on his shoulder. "Pikachu, an Electric type," he stated, no real warmth to his voice but no negativity either. Jessica was... okay. Well, maybe he'd just known her long enough he'd gotten a bit used to her even though he'd never really been friendly towards her. "They seemed to have noted everyone's interests well. An Eevee, huh? Happy with it? Oh, and hope you don't mind." He registered her Eevee as a Seen Pokemon in his Pokedex. "You can Dex Pikachu if you like."

((Pikachu is level 5. It knows Present, Thunderpunch, Thundershock, and Tail Whip. It is a little taller than the average Pikachu, but doesn't weigh more. It has a longer tail as well.))
"Oh thank you!" she said eagerly, fumbling in her purse for her Dex. She took it out, nearly dropping it, but managed to scan Pikachu without any problems. "And I'm so happy with Eevee!" "Vee!" cooed the little fluffy pokemon, rubbing against her leg. The two of you had reached the courtyard at the end of the hallway, and opened the door. Outside was awesome. It was a beautiful, spring day. The other students who had decided on non-pokemon related careers, were talking with their family members, being given flowers and such. Many of the parents had pokemon of their own, for the training regulations were not nearly as strict during their time. There was a buffet on the left side of the courtyard, a tall one for humans, and a shorter one for the pokemon. You notice a few pokemon helping themselves. In the center were tables with gorgeous flowered centerpieces, probably picked from the routes just outside of Violet. On the right side, however, is what you find the most interesting. There are three battlefields that had been holographically set up. You knew about holo-fields, and how they worked. A small thin box about the size of a stamp with one button is the source. If one walked into the middle of what they wanted to be a 'battlefield,' you only had to push the center button. The little box would float into the air, and project down a hologram, complete with trainer boxes, boundary lines, and the center circle. Across the courtyard, you see your family. Jessica comes up behind you and gives you a nudge. "What do you wanna do?"

Levi looked around, frowning a bit when he saw his parents. They were chatting with some of his teachers, and while his father seemed cheerful then, Levi knew he was probably still disappointed in his choice. Levi's father had never been a Pokemon trainer, and considered it more along the lines of goofing around or avoiding real responsibility. He had been supportive of Levi nevertheless, but he seemed to treat Levi wanting to be a Trainer more as a phase that would pass in a year or so then he'd come back and go to college to get a normal job.
Pikachu was eying the buffet, which Levi noticed, but also was looking all around and seemed excited to just be outside again with so many people around. "I guess I'll get Pikachu a snack and then see if anyone wants to battle," he replied to Jessica. If he was going to be traveling around studying Pokemon, Pikachu being able to defend him was important, so he might as well start training right away. Plus his parents were busy talking. They could wait a bit longer to see his Pokemon.
He went over to the Pokemon buffet and grabbed a fresh slice of apple from there and handed it to Pikachu, who exclaimed "Pika!" and immediately took the piece of fruit, chowing down on it. While Pikachu finished off its snack, he made his way over to the battlefields.

A few students were already battling. The twins were battling their nidoran, and Yasmine was taking on Carson. There was only one battlefield open at the time. To your left was another trainer, who's name you didn't know. At his feet was a Murkrow, who was also looking around nervously. To your right was a different trainer, whose name you also didn't know. She looked confident, just as confident as her Cyndaquil at her feet. The little thing had smoke swirling from its back, but no fire. Yet. Jessica followed behind you, just seeing what you were planning, followed by her Eevee. The Eevee and your Pikachu were chatting and giggling to themselves. Pikachu offered the fuzzy pokemon a bite of its apple, which it accepted gladly. "Vee!"

Levi was a bit disappointed by Carson already being busy. It would have been really satisfying to beat him in a battle, but he supposed that wasn't an option at this point. As of the available people had a Murkrow, Cyndaquil, and even Eevee if he wanted to include Jessica although if she was inclined to battle him, she would have said so when he first mentioned it. Fighting a Flying type with an Electric type would just be picking on the boy who owned it, so Cyndaquil seemed to be his only option.
He approached the girl. "Interested in a battle?" he inquired. At the word battle, Pikachu's ears perked up. It left the rest of the apple for Eevee and ran over to Levi's side, sparking up at its cheeks in excitement with a determined look on its face.

The girl grinned. "You bet we are!" she announced. She stuck out her hand, shaking yours eagerly. "I'm Vega by the way, nice to meetcha.""Quil!" She jogged over to the trainer box on the open battlefield, her Cyndaquil following suit, and stepping onto the battlefield. "Flare and I will handle this!"
((In your next post, if you wish to start the battle, command your pokemon to make a move. Then I will play out the events using a generator on my computer, until your next post, in which you should put your reaction to the battle and your next command.))

Levi was a little put off by Vega's eagerness, but he awkwardly shook her hand. "Levi Ownes," he introduced before making his way over to his own trainer box. In his Pokedex, he registered Cyndaquil as seen as Pikachu took a ready position, its cheeks starting up even more. Levi opened up the page of Pikachu's moveset.
"Okay, Pikachu, start off with Tail Whip," he ordered. Pikachu's best move was a Physical attack, so lowering his opponent's defenses would give him a slight advantage when there were no type advantages to consider.

As the battle started, Pikachu ran out towards the center of the battlefield. "Tackle, Cyndaquil!" called Vega from across the field. The fire type also began to make its way towards the center, but slowly.Pikachu was able to move first, and just as the Cyndaquil was approaching him, he turned and... wagged his tail awful cute. It kind of put off the Cyndaquil, who became slightly confused, and stopped running just to watch curiously. "What are you doing Cyndaquil!" cried a frustrated Vega from across the battlefield. "Tackle!" At that, Cyndaquil prepared himself once again to lunge.

Levi seemed amused by the Cyndaquil's confusion. He was tempted to try it again, but the same trick was unlikely to work twice. He should move on to being aggressive. "Good job," he said, to which Pikachu perked up its ears and sparked a little, the praise getting it more determined. Levi continued on with his orders. "Okay, give it a Present and follow up with Thunder Punch."

Before Pikachu could move, the cyndaquil lunged, tackling him in the chest. Pikachu skid along the ground, but flipped himself around, landing on all fours. He pulled his paws back, and then, in a motion like bowling, released a bluish colored package that seemed to appear from thin air. It landed right in front of Cyndaquil, and burst, exploding in its face with a bang."Pika!" cried Pikachu, wasting no time. He dove through the smoke with a sparking fist, slamming the Cyndaquil into the ground with a crackle of electricity. It was a decisive victory.
((you may choose in your next post how you react to the victory, how Vega reacts, how your parents (if at all) react, and what you wish to do next, and I will not consider it godmodding.))

Levi smiled a bit as Cyndaquil was knocked out. Pikachu immediately ran back over to him, tail twitching excitedly. He crouched down to pet its head, feeling a bit of static on his hand, but nothing painful. "Good job," he praised. "Calm down a bit before coming up on my shoulder, though. I rather not have you pulling my hair to you."
He stood up again and saw his parents had been watching. His mother, a pretty woman with blue hair, came over to praise him and meet his new Pokemon. His father followed after and shook Levi's hand, congratulating him. Levi ducked his head politely and excused himself, going over to Vega.
"Good match," he told her, shaking her hand, although not as excitedly as she'd done before the match. "Thank you."
Pikachu soon came running up to him, climbing up onto his shoulder and settling down. He looked towards his parents and saw them waving goodbye. They had talked ahead of time that they'd have to leave soon after the ceremony to return to work.
There was really nothing else for him to do, unless he wanted to keep battling, and there was really only one person he actually wanted to battle: Carson. If he wasn't available, he'd just walk home.

Carson was no where in sight, and most of the festivities outside were starting to die down. It looked like it was pretty much over, and so you decide to head home. The sun was setting when you left, turning the perfect spring day slightly chilly. ((At this point, you could end the day starting a new one ^^ the first day of traveling. If so, write a sequence of you going to bed, what does Pikachu do? Do you say goodnight to your parents? End that sequence with you falling asleep, and I will set the scene for the morning.))

Levi returned home to find dinner already cooked by their caretaker. The caretaker, a slightly plump middle-aged woman, greeted him and Pikachu happily. Levi noted there was only enough food for him, and the caretaker informed him his parents would be working late. He was used to it, so he wasn't too disappointed and settled down at the table to eat with Pikachu, who was provided fresh fruit.
Once dinner was done, he retired up to his room. Pikachu immediately settled onto his bed to relax, while Levi showered and then changed into pajamas. He spent some time writing notes in his journal and sketching Pikachu before turning off the lights and getting into bed as well.
It didn't take him long to get comfortable and fall asleep.
