Private between Pet and Lola. NO posting if you decide to lurk, please. Plot Your normal warriors roleplay. The four Clans of Wind, River, Shadow, and Thunder have made it through a harrowing Leafbare and are beginning to regain their strength in an abnormally warm Newleaf. Now that the chilling snows are gone, the prey is abundant, and the rivers full. The Clans, though still not without their usual hostility of each other, are at peace and war-free. StarClan has remained silent of destructive prophecies for some time, and the Clans have been blessed with many new litters and a healthy population. But nothing lasts forever. In such a time of abundance, the Clans are growing greedy. Some of the fiercer warriors are calling for battle. Greed drives some to pursue prey in other Clans' territories. There is talk of staking more territory for some Clans. The Clans are growing restless. Some say that this unusually warm Newleaf brings with it a drought-ridden Greenleaf. Amid the fortune, ill intentions threaten to break the peace. And yet StarClan remains silent, so the Clans continue as they have been. In the camp of RiverClan, there is talk of a siege of WindClan. Likewise in ShadowClan. ThunderClan has been accused of both WindClan and RiverClan of stealing prey. And WindClan cats have been spotted suspiciously close to ShadowClan hunting grounds. Suspicions are running high. Trust is dwindling at a threatening rate. And yet amid the chaos, two cats find love in the most unexpected places. Only time will tell if this will be their undoing. Setting The "Original" home of the Clans. This roleplay will be through the eyes of River- and WindClan. ^Map^ Character Sheets Name: Gender: Age: Clan: Rank: Personality: Mate/Crush:

Name: Larkstar
Gender: Female
Age: 30 moons
Clan: RiverClan Rank: Leader
Personality: While having a slightly ruthless reputation, Larkstar tries her best to be a fair and just leader. She knows that RiverClan has been help in very low esteems due to past decisions by past leaders, and is determined to remind the other Clans that it is just that: the past. But despite her good intentions, she still has a trait that is very RiverClan, and possibly her downfall: ambition. She has always had drive, and while her current drive is to show the other Clans that they have changed from their sometimes Codeless ways, she can't help but wonder if now, in a time of great abundance, is the time to sieze even more power. And for her, land is power. So while Larkstar may be determined to change her Clan for the better, she can't help but find her gaze wandering across the river to peer at their ThunderClan neighbors...
Mate/Crush: None.
History: Larkstar grew up until shortly after becoming a warrior under the leadership of Owlstar. He was, in fact, her mentor. She had always looked up to him for being kind and just, but many of her Clanmates viewed him as weak, though she didn't know it at the time. He was well into old age when he trained her, though the still had two lives. Those two lives were lost in a bloody land dispute between ThunderClan and RiverClan, yet again, for Sunningrocks. His deputy, Darkwind, became Darkstar, and the Clan went downhill from there. Darkstar was very ambitious, and had very little compassion. He had trained hard, and expected others to be as "tough" as him. He had very little concern for others, and the only thing he seemed to fear was StarClan. Thanks to the help of his medicine cat, the Clan didn't fall apart. Somehow, Larkstar was able to get in Darkstar's good graces, and became his deputy shortly before another battle for Sunningrocks. While Darkstar didn't lose any of his lives in battle, he became seriously wounded, and therefore weak. This was in late Leaf-fall, and by the time Leafebare set in, he grew ill and eventually died. Perhaps it was in her raising that Larkstar should want to take back Sunningrocks. Perhaps it is her destiny. Or perhaps it is the influence of two dead leaders leading her to join them. Looks: Larkstar, in her younger days, was once a very pretty cat. Though she has lost some of her beauty to age and battle, she still has a regal grace about her that commands respect. She is an averagely-sized cat, but she knows how to walk in a way that makes her seem to take up more space. She has deep green eyes that perr out like lights from her black pelt accompanied by a white chest, paws, and tail-tip. Her muzzle is flecked with white. She is lean but well-fed, and trains to a point of strength, but not obvious musculature. Her claws are sharp and tongue often sharper, but she doesn't like to hurt without reason.
Other: She has four lives left.
--- Name: Whitetail
Gender: Male
Age: 27 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Deputy
Personality: Whitetail is a very focused cat once you get him on a task. He has a constant work ethic in overdrive, which causes him to work more than what's probably healthy. He wasn't always this way, though. Only once he was elevated to deputy status did he become the withdrawn, though respected, workhorse (so to speak) you see today. Whitetail rarely stresses over anything, though, and is a very calm cat. He has a rigid and high sense of honor, as well as justice, and is always truthful. He is not without RiverClan pride, though few in the Clan are, but he does not hold himself above other cats.
Mate: Heatherheart History: Whiteheart was raised by two parents who believed in working hard, though not as hard as he works now. When he was younger, he was michevious and light-hearted. Whitetail fell in love with a she-cat by the name of Heatherheart soon after becoming a warrior, and she bore him both Rainstep and Ashwind. He was close to Larkstar--then Larkfur--as apprentices, and their friendship continue into their warrior years. When she was elevated to leader status, she quickly chose her friend to sesrve as her deputy. But Whitetail wasn't quite ready for the job mentally, and became an intense worker, until being deputy was who he was. He was no longer a father, or a mate, or even a friend--he was Whitetail the deputy. This has driven a wedge between him and Heatherheart, and their relationship is beginning to fraction. --- Name: Lilypaw (whisker)
Gender: Female
Age: 16 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Medicine Cat Apprentice
Personality: Lillypaw loves to help others, even if it's the most menial task. She can be a bit of a pushover because of her willingness to lend a hand (or paw, so to speak). She is a bit shy, and very humble. Lilypaw can't seem to figure out why the other apprentices keep their distance, or are friendly only to a certain point. She has been on the outer rings of the social circle, not quite an outcast, but not inside, for as long as she can remember. Because of this, she has a low self-esteem, and is very self-critical. Lilypaw loves to heal--the reason for her medicine cat apprenticeship--but, despite her work in the medicine den, hates conflict and war. She will often be th eone to come between arguments. Injury in general upsets her, whether it be physical or verbal. Some might think that this makes her an ill fit for her job, but instead it makes Lilypaw stronger. She likes to think of herself as someone who repairs after the damage is done, and bring the damaged back to health.
History: Lilypaw grew up as an only kit, though her brother Emberpaw was born four seasons after her. The two were close growing up together, and still are, seeing as Emberpaw shares similar social problems. Lilypaw knew from the moment she set foot in the medicine den that she wanted to be a healer when she grew up, though no extraordinary occurances or talents have sped up her training or revealed her as a particularly unique cat. She does love what she does, though, and that makes her work special on all its own.

Other: None. --- Name: Sparkwhisker
Gender: Female
Age: 19 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Warrior
Personality: Sparkwhisker, despite her warrior status, is very young at heart. She loves kits, and is very spontaneous and energetic. She can be focused when she wants to be, and is always eager to please, but sometimes she simply irritates some of her older Clanmates. She is kind and will always listen if you need her to lend an ear, and is probably the best cat in the Clan at keeping secrets. She wears her heart on her sleeve (again, so to speak), for better or for worse, except when it comes to her affections. For some inexplicable reason, she is drawn to the haughty Fangwind, a tom a few seasons older than her, and a polar opposite of her personality. She hopes that this crush--it can't be anything more than that, right?--passes soon. Other than her sometime childish personality, Sparkwhisker also lacks the hatred, and oftentimes even the hostility, of other clans. She doesn't see why they can't be a little more trusting of each other, a little bit more relaxed on boundaries. A squirrel is only a squirrel when there's enough to go around...right?
Crush: Fangwind History: Sparkwhisker grew up with a typical warrior's life. Her brother, Dustbreeze, and still living mother, Fogtail, are a loyal and loving family. Her best friend is Rainstep, Whitetail's daughter, and unwanted love is Fangwind. She came out of apprenticeship about a moon early, due to excelled training, and that may be a small explanation as to why she seems so reluctant to mature. Looks: [Picture not mine.]

--- Name: Rainstep
Gender: Female
Age: 20 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Warrior
Personality: Rainstep has grown up in a world of comparisons. Her brother, Ashwind, is practically a perfect cat. He is spellbindly beautiful in his looks, and yet also perfect in his actions, values, and voice. Part of Rainstep can't help but resent her near-perfect brother, though so much of her loves him, it smothers the dark part out most of the time. But sometimes, it does come to light. Where Ashwind is eloquent and well-spoken, Rainstep is frank and sharp-tongued. Where Ashwind will politely turn down a lazy afternoon over that of training, Rainstep can't help her michevious, more rebellious moments. Where every she-cat in the Clan is fawning over Ashwind, Rainstep is hardly noticed. And yet, growing up with some part of her trying to like him, Rainstep has created a personality all her own. She's independent, and naturally hates to be compared to anything. She likes to be a bit of a rebel ,but not to a dangerous extent. She hates being told what to do, and can be irritatingly stubborn, but she's kind unless you push her too far. She's proud and loyal to her Clan above all else, and though it tears at her heart to see her father growing so distant, she can't help be proud of him. She loves her family with all of her heart, but some part of her wonders what life would be like without Ashwind.
Mate/Crush: Will become Heavyfoot
History: Perhaps it was growing up with her brother that fueled Rainstep to reach for such high goals. As kits, it became apparent that Ashwind had the upper hand between the two of him. He never misbehaved, never whined, never bothered the other queens and their litters. Rainstep did all of these. By the time they reached apprenticeship, she knew that she had to prove herself to everyone...including herself. She took training very seriously, and began to rise quickly through training. She grew close to Sparkwhisker during that time, and the two of them became warriors early...ahead of Ashwind. She's been working hard since then, but has let off a bit. Part of her knows that she just needs to come to terms with her brother, and accept who she is. But another part burns to be as perfect as him, or better.
Looks: Rainstep is a slight silver female tabby with icy blue eyes that are probably her most striking feature. Rainstep, however, could be described as "striking" in general. She has thick black stripes that contrast greatly with her pale silver fur. She is petite but quick, and skilled at making herself hidden when she wishes to be. In battle, she is often underestimated because of her size, but her sharp claws and teeth can deliver lightning-fast and surprisingly punishing blows. Rainstep is pretty, but not breathtakingly beautiful like her brother, Ashwind.
Other: None. --- Name: Fallenleaf
Gender: Male
Age: 19 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Warrior
Personality: Charming, witty, and free willed, Fallenleaf is your stereotypical RiverClan cat. He is proud, and tends to hold himself above other Clans, and is certainly hostile and often rude to them. He can be stubborn and sometimes mean, but will defer to those of higher rank. He has a lot of bravado, but not a lot of bark to his bite (yet again, so to speak). He can be flirty, funny, rude, angry, sad, cryptic, and philosophical all in one day. He also has a lot of ambition within him, and has high hopes for the future. Crush: No one and every one. Mate? Pffffft. History: Your typical warrior raising. His sister was stillborn, so he grew up as an only kit. His mother, Dewfeather, was kind and a loving mother, but died in battle during his apprenticeship. Her death affected him deeply, since Fallenleaf never knew his father, who wished not to be known. Rumors in the Clan say that he was a seductive rouge that took what he wanted, and then left. Perhaps the reason Fallenleaf is so tempermental is because he doesn't know who he is, who to please, who to be.

Other: This character still needs some work. :x Sorry. --- Name: Arrowpaw (wind)
Gender: Male
Age: 16 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Rank: Apprentice
Personality: Kind but reserved, Arrowpaw has set all of his energy into becoming the best warrior he can. His father had very high expectations for him, and as a kit Arrowpaw seemed to let him down. He is determined not to loose his father's love, and has thrown everything he has into training. He tries his best to please everyone, though it seems an impossible task. Arrowpaw is sweet, and genuinely cares about each and every one of his Clanmates, and is always willing to lend a paw. But if being kind gets in the way of pleasing his father, it gets pushed out of the way. He can't bear the thought of disappointing his father.
Mate/Crush: None, perhaps will take a liking to Spottedpaw.
History: Arrowkit was born to Ivytail and Winterleaf. Ivytail was and still is a warm and loving mother to her kit, but her affections with Winterleaf are dwindling from what they used to be when they were younger. Arrowpaw believes that they are more different than they realized, and will see them arguing someties in camp. When he was a young kit, his father visited often and was warm and loving, as well as a great playmate. As Arrowkit matured, Winterleaf tried to teach him battle sequences, and if the tiny Arrowkit failed, he would get a displeased look on his face and leave. So progressed their relationship, though in Ivytail's eyes, there seemed like their kit could do nothing wrong.

((If you want to play a rogue or loner you can. I won't since I don't find it really helpful to the plot. ^^ Will edit with my bios as I make them. The bolded names are your main characters, right? And if I randomly disappear without filling in all the bolded names, sorry. x-x I'll do it as soon as I log in next time.))

Warriors: Aspentail, Goosewing, Redclaw, Lionfoot, Mothflight, Ravenwing, Graystorm, Snowwhisker Apprentices: Frostpaw, Ivypaw, Mosspaw, Swanpaw, Ashpaw
Queens/Kits: Doveheart [Darkkit, Mistkit, Patchkit] Elders: Thistletail, Yellowleaf, Adderfang
Name: Heavyfoot Gender: Male
Age: 22 moons
Clan: WindClan
Rank: Deputy
Personality: A straightforward and simple cat, Heavyfoot doesn't like to look at things in any way besides the most obvious. Some would call that being oblivious, but he really isn't. He has a knack for instinctively knowing when things are worth his attention, and in that case, can easily see through facades. At other times, he seems to be thickheaded and out of touch with the fading memories of being an apprentice. Out of everyone else in WindClan, he is the one most irritated by apprentices, especially his own. Despite this, he is protective of his clan and enjoys some good competition every now and again. Mate/Crush: Open
History: Heavyfoot was one of two surviving kits of Morningwhisker and Honeynose (both deceased). His sister is Mothflight, who originally planned to be a medicine cat but later reverted to becoming a normal warrior when she couldn't bear simply healing the battle wounds instead of taking revenge for her clan mates. Her withdrawal from her position as a medicine cat apprentice caused those they originally thought were okay to ridicule her, resulting in a distrust between Heavyfoot and the other apprentices. He had taken it more personally than she had, and now views most of the Clan's words with an idea of who they are as a cat. He isn't biased towards them, but rather keeps in mind of other things when they speak to him. This clear view is the reason why he was chosen by Oakstar to become deputy. Looks: Heavyfoot is a bulky black tom with a flat face and a thick tail. He has a white patch on the left side of his face, along with a white tailtip, underbelly, and back left paw sock. His fur is somewhat thick, tending to snag on thistles and burs more often than for other cats. Because of this, his pelt tends to look somewhat scrappy and tangled. Other: His apprentice is Mosspaw. Name: Brookpaw (Brookfur)
Gender: Female
Age: 8 moons
Clan: WindClan
Rank: Medicine Cat Apprentice
Personality: Brookpaw, before she fell off a ledge she and other apprentices were playing at by the river dividing the two clans, used to be quite distant from the Code and StarClan. While she knew her future was tightly intertwined with it, she didn't take the time to acknowledge them or do such a thing. Later on, she grew to take more responsibility, and now tries to keep to her duties. While even Blackthroat encourages her to take the time to enjoy her youth, she prefers to keep that to a minimum. Brookpaw is especially dedicated to learn more since Doveheart's fourth kit, Pinekit, died from birth complications. However, she tends to be easily aggrivated with her failures and snaps at those she truly cares about. She is passionate and willing. Mate/Crush: None, though she has quite a like towards Ashpaw. History: Brookpaw, Frostpaw, and Ivypaw were the first kits of Doveheart and Ravenwing. At birth, Brookpaw was having trouble breathing, and was believed to not make it. If not for Blackthroat's persistance, her parents say she would have died, being as they were already mourning her before she stopped breathing. She appreciated his success later in life. That was the primary reason she became a medicine cat apprentice- she wanted to feel the exhilaration of saving lives like Blackthroat did. However, she was very well aware of the fact failure could emotionally scar her. Looks: Brookpaw is a lean, light ginger she-cat with green eyes. She has a scar arching above her left eye due to a fall she experienced while exploring with the other apprentices after dark. Other: Her mentor is Blackthroat. Name: Mothflight Gender: Female
Age: 22 moons
Clan: WindClan
Rank: Warrior
Personality: Mothflight is an ambitious and indecisive she-cat with the tendency to test things out before she fully accepts them. She will take small risks and use them to decide bigger thinks. As a thinker, she is one to contemplate before attacking. This can be seen as a weakness as she hesitates instead of jumping in for the kill. She doesn't really take things personally, as shown when she wasn't too bothered at the mocking received when she switched from a medicine cat apprentice to a warrior.
Mate/Crush: Lionfoot
History: Heavyfoot is her brother, and she had a stillborn sister. Mothflight originally trained to be a medicine cat, but after seeing all of her clanmate's wounds in the usual patrol scuffles and such, she began to hate the fact she couldn't do those things. She wanted to guard her own territory and avenge those that died...so she gave up being a medicine cat. This decision resulted in her being temporarily ridiculed, none of which bothered her very much, but it irritated Heavyfoot greatly. It caused him to rethink other cats and his thoughts of them, so he became a judging tom. When he became deputy, Mothflight encouraged him in all that he did, reminding him to keep a refresh outlook on cats he originally judged due to past conflicts. Some time after her Warrior ceremony, she became close with Lionfoot. They became mates, but have not yet had kits. Looks: Mothflight is a dark ginger she-cat with a fluffy tail and an average build. She isn't very graceful, but has the ability to strike precisely in battle once she thinks her moves over. Other: Her apprentice is Frostpaw.
Name: Ravenwing Gender: Male
Age: 34 moons
Clan: WindClan
Rank: Warrior
Personality: A somewhat sensitive tom, Ravenwing has as many opinions as Doveheart does, but chooses to keep them to himself. He has a somewhat biased outlook on life, commonly associating other cats with their parents, and has trouble getting over things. At times he can be rather nasty to those he had judged too harshly, giving him the appearance of a jerk, but really he isn't. Doveheart likes to keep him in check by yelling at him if he has unacceptable behavior, and the birth of their first litter encouraged him to grow up a little and become a father figure. Mate/Crush: Doveheart
History: Ravenwing and Graystorm were the only offspring of Aspentail and Goosewing. He was raised to freely speak his mind, but for some reason pushed this back. At times Aspentail worried that her son was hiding something important, when really all the time he constantly hid feelings of hatred and distrust. As excited as he was to be an apprentice, he also was paranoid that he would hurt his mentor, Oakstar, which made her laugh seeing as at the time, he wouldn't have been able to hurt her if he wanted to anyway. During his apprentice days, he developed an increasing love for competition, sometimes trying too hard to win and injuring Graystorm in the process. For some reason, he had more worries about harming his mentor than the other apprentices, primarily due to his strong belief in respecting your elders. Ravenwing is very close to Brookpaw, but is disappointed with her decision to become a medicine cat, seeing her as the strongest of the first litter despite her weak birth. Looks: Ravenwing is a black tom with amber eyes. He has a fluffy tail, long fur, and a pointed face. Other: His apprentice is Swanpaw. Name: Doveheart Gender: Female
Age: 33 moons
Clan: WindClan
Rank: Queen
Personality: Doveheart is a strongly opinionated and debatable she-cat that enjoys a good argument every now and again. She isn't the most skilled in battle, but has an endurance fit for frustrating her opponents. While she can appear to be disagreeable, Doveheart has a natural feeling of motherhood and looks out for those she doesn't even prefer to associate herself with. Her lack of particular skill has fostered some sort of envy towards though who come out as heroes, so her concern for others may be the hope of, for once, being the star of the show. Doveheart is fidgety, and hates being in one place for a while. She is seen with her kits out of the nursery more often than other queens. Mate/Crush: Ravenwing
History: The runt of the litter, Doveheart survived to adulthood and later on a rogue attack. Her father, Maplestar, lost his last life in a bout of greencough, along with one of her brothers, Bramblepaw. She found comfort in Ravenwing, then Ravenpaw, because he had similiar quirks to her brother. Later on, she realized the two were distinctly different in their own ways, and later stopped seeing him as just a 'Bramblepaw replacement'. After the rogue attack, Ravenwing was the one who periodically visited her in Blackthroat's den. Within the next few moons, Doveheart had Brookpaw, Ivypaw, and Frostpaw. 8 moons later, she had Darkkit, Mistkit, Patchkit, and Pinekit (deceased), all but the latter she is currently nursing. Looks: Doveheart is a white she-cat with tan patches over her body. Of average build, she was originally the runt of the litter, but later grew into normal size. At one point in her life, she walked with grace, but she was attacked by rogues while on an abnormally small patrol with Lionfoot and Aspentail. One rogue clamped on her leg hard enough to give her a slight limp, and nowadays she drags it ever so slightly when she walks. Other: She nurses Darkkit, Mistkit, and Patchkit. Pinekit was her fourth kit, but died of birth complications.

Ooc// I'll update the original post in a moment~ So, would you prefer to start, or should I/ I don't really have a preference. ^^ Also, maybe we should switch the moon cycle to full moon so that Heavyfoot and Rainstep could meet at a Gathering, or something? Or maybe there could be a patrol run-in, or something like that... o3o

((I'll begin first- I don't really have much practice starting off, so this would be good since it's a one on one instead of a big group where my mind is in a state of chaos. xD Hm, you can leave it at the current moon and perhaps one of the WindClan apprentices went missing (adventure |D), so Heavyfoot and some others went out to look for them? Then, alone, he searched for them by the river between the clans and ended up running into Rainstep, who was fishing?))

((That's understandable. ^^ Also, multiple other sources have listed borage leaves as being used to stimulate milk production.)) "Heavyfoot." Mothflight's dark pelt interrupted the deputy's view of the river bordering the territories, lit by the blinding sun. "Frostpaw's missing." The white spotted tom turned with a roll of his shoulders, a lack of concern on his face. "He's probably out again, disobeying everything we teach him. I'm sure he's fine- just be at all entrances of the camp and then you can reprimand him when he returns." "The most recent patrol caught fresh badger scent." Heavyfoot froze, and turned his gaze to the she-cat. "Well, that's an important factor. We'll send out some cats to look for him so he doesn't get mauled." Satisfied with the answer, Mothflight nodded. "Anyone?" "Whoever is free. Leave some warriors in the camp though, in case RiverClan decides to be a nuisance, or the badger becomes braver than it should be." Heavyfoot cast one hateful glance across the river, into the bushes on the other side. "I'll check down there. Frostpaw seems the type to be prancing closer to the border, thoughtlessly." The dark ginger she-cat tried to hide a smile. "All right, Heavyfoot." She turned, and ran back across the moor. The wind blew, carring her scent to him as she went further off into the distance. After one moment of staring thoughtfully across the river, Heavyfoot nimbly began his way down towards the riverside. The cliff had a sharp drop, but he had climbed down it before on the night Brookpaw had fallen. His feet gingerly tested each outcrop before placing his full weight on it. All the while, he kept a careful eye on the land across the river, knowing full well it wouldn't be too surprising if a RiverClan patrol appeared and gave him a hard time. It was just in their nature... Heavyfoot, in a moment of disorientation, stepped the wrong way. And just like Brookpaw had moons ago, he fell. With a grunt, the deputy landed on his side. Embarassment ruffling his pelt, Heavyfoot immediately stood up, glancing in all directions to see who could have seen. What deputy walked with such a lack of authority? --- Brookpaw stared at the herbs she had just sorted with a blank ex pression. She could recognize them by scent and appearance, knowing them well enough to match them up with their medicinal value. The only issue was, she struggled to remember their names. Near her, Blackthroat was tending to Doveheart, feeding her...whatever the herb it was that helped to stimulate milk production. "Brookpaw. This is borage," Blackthroat told her as he gave them to Doveheart. The apprentice nodded, ashamed that her mentor already knew her lack of knowledge. "Oh. Thanks." "Don't be afraid to ask for help. Otherwise you won't improve." Flicking his tail, he began nudging each kit, making sure they all were all right. "I'm not going to yell at you if you don't." How did he know everything? Brookpaw nodded again, unsure of what to say. All of the other patients heard him- they must have thought she was failing as an apprentice. 2 moons under Blackthroat's mentorship, and she still didn't know the basic names of the herbs! Brookpaw returned to the pile of sorted herbs, focusing on the scent of borage. Borage- milk. She repeated it in her head again and again, trying to drown out the sound of the other apprentices fooling around outside the medicine cat den. --- Doveheart watched her daughter turn away, obviously embarassed. She could understand how the apprentice felt...it was kind of bad that she didn't know the herbs, especially at that point in her apprenticeship. After two moons of being under Blackthroat, Brookpaw should have known better. That was such a basic fact! The queen tried not to judge too much however, as the most she had to memorize were fighting moves- she didn't have to hone her memory of specific phrases. While she wanted to say something to comfort Brookpaw on her lack of knowledge, she bit her tongue, knowing it would likely just embarass the apprentice further.
Ravenwing watched the medicine cat check the last kit, and sighed in relief when he nodded. "They're all okay, I assume?" With a nod, Blackthroat flicked his tail and began to turn away. "Yep. They're progressing well. I'll give you a little bit of borage every so often so they have a good supply of milk."
"Thank you." The queen told him, and leaned sideways to lick the heads of each of her kits. As he watched this act of motherly affection, Ravenwing stood close quietly. While fatherhood wasn't new to him, it was just as exhilarating as the first time. Already he was picking out which features each kit inherited from which parent, and how they would be when they were older. His gaze drifted to Brookpaw, and he felt a pang. She had so much potential. His hopes had been driven into the ground like a stake when she announced her decision to train as a medicine cat. With a small sigh, Ravenwing inched closer to his mate, and farther from his daughter. His eyes fell on Mistkit, who was most successful at batting the others away from suckling. He would be the successful warrior Brookpaw had refused to become. ((Full of fail, I'm sorry. D:))

Ooc// I'll but the borage part up~ In addition, poppy seeds can actually put you to sleep. xD
You're not a fail. >O Sorry for the shortish intros. :c
Bic// Larkstar watched over the predawn activities of the RiverClan camp with a cool air of authority. She relished the sweet morning breeze, carrying scents of fresh water and ripe rushes. It was one of those rare, peaceful mornings where she felt utterly calm. As her warriors assembled into hunting and border patrols, she caught the worried of of Whitetail. With a flick of her tail, she beckoned him to her perch on the top of a boulder. It was their HighRock, a craggy granite boulder that faced a majority of their camp, save for the elders' den, which was beside it, and the nursery, which was tucked behind, in a well-protected nook guarded by a sharp bramble wall. Whitetail was beside her in a moment, climbing up the smooth backside that made the high vantage point accessible. He couldn't help but glance down the sharp face of it, at least the fox-lengths off the ground. "Whitetail," Larkstar said briskly, never one to waste time, "What troubles you? You look...disconcerted, to say the least." Whitetail ducked his head in agreement. "It's just...." He hesitated. He would tell his leader anything if it meant the Clan's well-being, but when was too much? He sighed, and confided, "Heatherheart and I had a disagreement this morning. I think Rainstep might have heard....and now she's missing." Larkstar nodded, her eyes never leaving the slowly awakening camp below. "I think, if she is upset, she'll find her way back when she's ready. Rainstep is a reasonable young cat, and I trust she won't get into any ridiculous situations. I grant her leave from duties this morning." Whitetail ducked his head in gratitude. "Thank you," he whispered, and then retreated. Always preoccupied with his duty, Larkstart thought wryly, No wonder his family is upset. --- Lilypaw looked over the array of herbs with a twitch of amusement shivering down her whiskers. "Your throat is sore, you say?" she confirmed, leveling her geren gaze on the tiny kit that stood before her. "Yes!" Minnowkit squealed, bouncing up and down eagerly. Lilypaw purred in amusement. The little tom was obviously feeling fine, but what harm could a little drop of the sweet honey do? She nodded, mocking a serious tone as she said, "All right, then. You wait here, and I'll get you some of that honey." Minnowkit's eyes shone as he realized he was getting what he wanted. Lilypaw disappeared deeper into the small cave that was the medicine den. She picked up a leaf they would have normally used for bandaging, siped it across one of their three honeycombs, and then sprinkled a small amount of poppy seeds in them. Not enough to make his pass out, but it should calm him after he ingested the honey. She returned with the tiny leaf-package and handed it over to Minnowkit. He accepted it inhis jaws, and then bounced away to the nursery, presumably to flaunt his prize. Lilypaw watched him go with another purr of amusement. She wondered how much longer it would be before Silverkit came, sporting a "sore throat" as well. --- Sparkwhisker crept through the low scrub of the RiverClan field, careful to keep silent as she stalked the vole. It twitched its tiny whisker once, twice, and was getting ready to move on when she pounced. It squirmed futiley under her claw for a moment, and then she dispatched it with a quick bite, and carried her prize in her jaws to the rest of the patrol. They were waiting a few fox-lengths away for her, since she had gone off to hunt the vole by herself. Land prey seemed more abundant than usual this Newleaf, but that meant that population had gone from exceedingly small to simply small. And that meant patience. Sparkwhisker averted her eyes from the gaze of Fangwind, though the entire patrol was watching her. She instead focused on dropping her prey and burying it after adding an unnecessary, "Caught it." She sent a silent thanks to StarClan for both the prey, and the lack of embarassment if she hadn't have caught it. Arrowpaw was the next to leave, focus in his eyes as he stalked another, smaller, vole with a near-perfect stance. Ashwind congratulated him when he came trotting back with the tiny creature hanging limp from his jaws. Arrowpaw practically shone with pride at the compliment, and then buried his prey with hers. "Let's keep going," Fangwind announced, and then set off. Sparkwhisker was careful to keep a small distance from him, since being too close sent whirls of butterflies through her and turned her into a mouse-brained kit. --- "Fallenleaf!" Fallenleaf groaned and rolled over in his nest. It was far too early to be woken up. "What?" he grumbled. "It's time to get up, you lazy furball." He recognized the harsh tones of Whitetail, and crooked one eye open to look at the white tom. His ex pression was one of annoyance and worry, though Fallenleaf doubted he had any concern for him. Fallenleaf struggled up and out of the warrior's den, brushing past his deputy with little regard. Whitetail followed him to the fresh-kill pile, and then barred his way as he tried to reach for a plump fish. "Oh, no you don't. Catch some prey for the elders, and then you can eat." "What?" Fallenleaf practically yowled. "I'm starving!" "So will the rest of the Clan if you keep eating all their prey and giving nothing in return," Whitetail replied primly. "Fine," Fallenleaf grumbled, and stalked out of camp. Now...where to find easy prey? --- Rainstep bounded away from camp, her heart feeling as if it had been clawed at. The words of her parent's argument were still fresh in her mind, as sharp as wounds. She tore blindly away from the reed-concealed camp, slipping along the river under her paws were soaked and freezing. She gingerly continued on land, right next to the coarsing water that seemed to wash her pain away--or at least hold it back for a little while. The pebles scraped and scattered under her light, running paws, but her pads were too thick for them to bother her anymore. When Rainstep was finally exhausted, and suitably away from camp, she paused. A thick scent of WindClan was on the air--though that might have because their erritory was right across the river. Curious, she followed the scent further down river, until it seemed to be wafting right across from her. She peered across, and caught sight of a black and white tom scrambling up. She bit back a purr of amusement, wondering how bad his fall had been. She took a few steps closer, feeling a twinge of familiarity, but couldn't place who he was. Though, with her luck, he'd be a bristling and irritated warrior who just might jump across the river and tear her to pieces. The thought of a WindClan cat swimming, though, sent another shiver of laughter through her. She could only hope her next question wouldn't be one she regretted. "What are you doing?" Ooc// Sorry these are so terrible. >_> I'm thinking playing mass amounts of characters isn't for me. I think I might drop Fallenleaf and Arrowpaw, since I can't seem to get a lot of inspiration for them.
