Aeria was walking silently along the beaches of southern Florida. She loved living here. She could always lay out in the sun, and there was no shortage of wildlife for her to explore and observe. She sat down in the sand, tucking her dress underneath her. She was wearing a pair of white biker shorts underneath her dress so that she wouldn't have to constantly worry about flashing people. She watched a group of people playing volleyball a few yards in front of her. It was a group of guys that went to her school, so she waved and they waved back.

Aeria got up and dusted herself off. She began walking to her friend's party that was at the beach resort just down the beach a ways. And then she saw someone. He looked to be a bit older than her. It was Xavier. She had seen him before a few years ago when he came here. She stopped and looked at him for a moment before peeling her eyes away and walking down the beach. She peered over her shoulder at the boys. Just as she did that, a volleyball that a clumsy boy hit headed straight towards her. It hit her in the head with a loud thump and she fell to the ground. She was somewhat knocked out, but she was still aware of everything.

Several of the guys ran over and started shaking her. "Aeria, wake up!" they all yelled in a m*censored* of worry.

"Way to go, John. You ruined your chances with her," said a blonde-haired boy.

John had some sort of crush on Aeria for the past few weeks, but he was too shy to ask her out on a date. What a way for her to get to know him; hitting her in the head with a volleyball. "Shut up, Luke."

Luke, the blonde-haired boy, grunted and walked off to get some help. He walked up to Xavier and said, "You know how to deal with head injuries? John basically killed a girl."

Xavier had heard people yelling and cringed, his ears were highly sensitive. He looked at Luke and nodded "Oh boy, im coming."He got up and walked over to where he saw a figure laying on the sand with a people around her. He recognized the scent and managed to get to her "Aeria?" he said lowly. He looked at her head and saw a smal wound. "Nothing major" he said. He told someone to fetch him some ice and once they did he wrapped it in a towl and put it against her head lifting her up some. "No need to worry she'll be fine." he said calmly. He already knew who did it and frankly would of did the same thing to him  but he would leave that for later.

Aeria laid there for a minute, feeling various hands on her. It creeped her out. Of course, she was claustrophobic, so being in a crowd of sweaty, shirtless, volleyball-playing boys didn't help either. Her eyes flickered open and she immediately looked at the guy holding her up. "What happened? All I remember is being hit really hard by something." She rubbed her head and said, "Oh god. Yeah, that's gonna hurt for a while." She grunted and tried to wiggle free of Xavier, but couldn't. It made her a bit more comfortable that he was wearing a shirt.

"I'm sorry, Aeria. It was an accident," John said, his cheeks a bright red. It wasn't that he was hot on the beach. It was because he was embara.ssed to be talking to Aeria at a time like this.

"It's okay," she said to John. She didn't even know his name. It was surprising that she could remember her own name after a hit like that. "Do I have a concussion? 'Cause the world's spinning like I'm drunk."

Aeria let the people in the hospital work on her. They didn't do much. They just evaluated her to see if she had a concussion. Indeed, she did have a mild concussion. It wasn't serious though.  The nurse came out to the waiting room and looked at Xavier.

"You can come visit her if you want now. She has a mild concussion, but she'll be okay," the nurse said, smiling.

Xavier nodded and came into the room handing her a white teddy bear. "Hey Aeria, how are you feeling?" He asked. He was kind of nervous she had gotten hurt worse than he had first expected. If that were the case he would have given John a piece of his mind but she was more important right now.
