Nuran climbed out of his bedroom window carefully. He landed on the slipery ground, that had been watered by the previous night's shower. He looked around at the dark, sleeping town that he had lived in and grew up in. He shook the small regrets that sung in the back of his head and continued on. He looked around nervously as he walked, playing with his jacket zipper as he quickly snuck out of site from the late night car drivers. He slipped into a forest and looked over his back as he quickly ran from the town. He slipped and fell on his rump with a squeak. He winced and sat up rubbing his whiplashed head. He got up and frowned at his wet and muddy clothes but quickly continued on as he heard a few people come out of a house a few feet away.

Lanji was first to wake up, as always. He walked out of his room, which was in the middle of the abandonded town's Main Hall. He had slept in the Mayor's office where he normally slept. He walked out and noticed that some of the group was already awake. He yawned and walked into the town's resturant where everyone waited to get their share of breakfast. He greeted some of the kids there and sat down at a table with a soft tired sigh.

 Tarebey looked up from the stove, where he and a few other kids cooked the mornning meals for everyone and noticed Lanji walk in. "Goodmornning Lanji" he said as he added a few spices to the eggs that he was cooking.

Shundra was on his mornning look out. He layed flat on his stomach while watching from one of the building roof tops. He looked into the forest and could see the small edges of the town beyond it. His eyes searched the ground for movement but they froze when they caught sight of a jacket with, what looked like to be someone laying on it. He quickly jumped down from the roof and edged over to it, curious to see who it could be. He stopped when he came about 3 feet away and noticed a red haired boy curled up in a ball on his muddy jacket. He watched him sleep soundly and noticed that he had seemed to be heading towards Esukeipu. He quickly picked him up and rushed back to the town. He quickly ran over to another look out and told him to go and get Lanji to inspect the situation. He brought him to an old apartment building where most of the people in the town slept. He brought him to an empty room and layed him down careful not to wake him and waited for Lanji.

Lanji arrived at the room and looked down at the sleeping figure. "Fetch Vik and ask her kindly to come and take mesurements of the boy and get him some good clothes." He said to another look out that had followed Shundra to the room. The look out quickly scrambled off to tell Vik what Lanji had said. "Where did you find him?" He asked Shundra as he peered over the sleeping red head. 

"Just outside of Esukeipu" Shundra said as he sat down in a nearby chair.

Shundra watched as Merken walked in and sat down, "i dont know, i found him just outside the town."Shundra stood up a moment later and frowned at Merken's legs that blocked his path. He stepped over them, almost stumbling when his other foot came down on the ground and gave a small, smile that had a message of 'did you have to?' though it wasn't in a harsh or rude way. He turned around and noticed that Lanji had left the room. With a sigh he shook the red headed kid "hey..hey kid c'mon wake up already" he said as he continued to shake the kid awake.

Nuran felt someone shaking him and sleepily opened his eyes to see a dark haired teen looming over him. His eyes jumped open and he instantly flew off the bed in shock and unknowing of where he was. "Wh- where am i? Who are you?" He asked as he stood up against the wall and looked at the two teen that were in the room.

Lanji gave a small smile as he left the building that he was just in. He knew that the kid would be a bit jumpy and shocked when he woke up and didn't feel like dealing with it himself. He had decided Shundra and Merken to answer to it as he entered the abandonded resturan once more for his morning meal.

Merken grinned and nodded a 'yes' to the facial ex
pression on Shundra's face. He then stood up and walked over to the red-head. "Look's like I ain't the newbie anymore, ne?" He laughed and put an arm around the kids shoulder. "Got a name? Tha's Shundra..." Merken pointed over at the other teen, "I'm Merken... or you can jus' call me Merk if ya want." He grinned and looked up just as Vik stumbled in.

"O-Oops, ahha!" Vik chuckled, and regained her balance. She wandered over to the stumped looking red head. "And I am your new caretaker...well...one of them. The name's Vik Sonata! But...just call me Vik, 'lright?" Smirked Vik. "OK kid, well you're gonna have to change outta them clothes and go put these-" Vik handed him the clothing she made earlier. "-On and give me your dirty ones so I can go ahead an wash 'em for ya." 

Nuran looked from one teen to the other. He noticed a girl stumble in the room. Every minute he was getting even more confused with more questions. Was this some type of weird dream where only kids were? Where was he? Why were they treating him so kindly? He shook the questions away as he was handed the clothes. "Wait can someone just tell me where i am??" He asked looking at each of the three. "And my name is Nuran not kid" he said to the guy next to him that had wrapped his arm around his shoulder.

Shundra sat back down in the chair "You're in Esukeipu" he said simply as he scratched the back of his head, unknowing of really how else to put it. He had stayed there at Esukeipu since he was 14 and has thought of it as a place of freedom and without people that could cause harm. Everyone here treated each other like family and thought of each other as just that. He hoped that Nuran would see it the same way as everyone else did.

The ex
pression on Vik's face slowly drained. Who was this guy? Why should he care where he was anyways? Her eyebrow twitched and she huffed. "Yea' okay now that you've found out where you're at now.. Go change before those clothes start to mildew! Hurry up." Vik patted the clothes and smiled."'lrighty... well I'm gonna leave you all to yourselves. Uh.. When you're done changing, bring your dirty clothes to me. I'm down the hall, 3rd door on the right." Vik turned to walk out, and stopped. She looked back. "Oh and please don't step on any of the fabrics on the floor. It's kinda messy in there." Chuckling, Vik ran back to her room and slammed the door.

 Merken arched his back, and cracked it about 6 times. "Ahh... that felt good." He mumbled with a tired smirk. "Urgh... I fell asleep at 4 o'clock this mornin... What time is it now? About 8 in the AM?" Asked Merken, while patting Nuran on the shoulder. He slinked away and fell on the bed watching Shundra and Nuran with a tired gaze.

Nuran watched at Merken fell onto the bed. He looked around for a bathroom to change in and frowned when he didnt see one. He sat the clothes on the edge of the bed and gave a frown at Shundra and Merken along with a message of 'you better not look'. He sighed and pulled off his jacket and threw it on the bed, his shirt following. He kicked off his shoes and socks and after making sure Merken and Shundra weren't looking, pulled off his jeans, exposing his green and yellow striped boxers. He pulled on his new, dry clothes and once done gathered his damp, dirty clothes into a pile and started down the hallway towards where Vik had told him where to go. He knocked on the door and opened it to see fabrics all over the place. He carefully stepped in the empty spaces that showed the floor and handed her the pile of clothes "um..thanks" he said as he scratched the back of his head.

Shundra got Nuran's message and closed his eyes as he leaned his head back on the chair. He only opened them when he heard Nuran open the room door and walk out. He gave a frown at Merken "you peeked at him huh?" He guessed though he already knew the answer and shook his head with a small laugh.

Vik looked up from her work and smiled. She jumped up from her chair and took the dirty clothing from Nuran. "Oh, don't mention it! And I'll let you know as soon as these clothes are cleaned, I'll also be making more for you." She cleared her throat, and continued as she walked to the washing machine and turned it on. "...Since you can't wear the same thing all the time. Am I right? Who would want to do that?" The water in the machine filled, and she poured soap in then tossed the clothes in along with other dirtied ones. "Hm... stop by around.. 2 this evening. They should be cleaned by then."

"Yer damn right I did. He's got a nice butt lemme tell ya that much." Merken said with a wink, he turned over on his side and snuggled his head into the pillow. With a yawn, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Shundra gave a small laugh at what Merken had said "Well i'm going to go back to my post, be sure to treat the kid to some break-...fast..." He paused seeing how Merken had fallen asleep and growled under his breath. He walked out and closed the door as he left.

Nuran watched her throw the clothes in the machine "Uh..oh ok" he said as he turned and made his way back to the door. His eyes planted on the colorful patterns and fabrics that were scattered around the room, only stepping in the spaces he had taken to get to the desk. He stepped out of the room, softly shutting the door before starting back down the hallway. He was lost in thought as he walked, eyes on the floor, and felt himself run into someone, or something. He took a step back and looked up to see Shundra. "Oh, umm, where am i staying? and uh..is there somekind of person in charge here?" 

Shundra bumped into Nuran and scratched the back of his head at what Nuran had asked. "Well uh.. i guess he should be back in the resturant.." He saw that Nuran looked a bit confused. As if he didn't know where that was and Shundra remembered that he was new here. He sighed and grabbed Nuran's hand "Here i'll show you" He said rushing down the hall with him following like a shadow. They walked across the old street that ran into the middle of town and entered the resturant. They walked in and Shundra scanned the crowd for Lanji.

Nuran was grabbed and half dragged down the hallway, though soon he was able to catch his feet and walk quickly after Shundra. He followed him outside and noticed that everyone he saw was a kid. There were no adults in this city at all! He walked into the resturant after Shundra and his mouth nearly dropped. Even the cooks were teens, everyone that was in there were all kids, just different ages. He weaved through the crowd after Shundra and wondered which one of the teens in here would be incharge. They stopped near a table with a white haired guy sitting down with a glas.s of water and a plate of eggs. He looked up and leaned back in his chair and gave a small smile up at Shundra. "Ah, i see you woke him up." He said as his smile and gaze switched over to Nuran. Nuran was a bit surprised, he would've thought that maybe the person in charge would be at least a young adult, though this one still looked very young. He was motioned to sit down and took a seat across from the guy.

"I'm Lanji" He said as he thanked Shundra for escorting the boy to him. "I'm the one in charge i guess you could say. He watched as Shundra left and motioned for one of the cooks to come over to the table. Nuran watched as a blonde headed teen with piercings all in his ears come over to the table. "Get our new arrival here a glas.s of water and a meal, he must be dying of thirst and hunger" Lanji ordered as he continued to smile. "My name's Nuran, and what is this place?" He asked as he watched the cook leave after giving a nod to Lanji. "This place is for kids of all ages that want to get away from their families. You could call them runaways but they're just looking for a place to live, with a better happier family." Lanji answered with a smile. Nuran's eyes lit up at what Lanji said. He had runaway the night before, thinking that he would be alone, but now he could stay here and by the looks of it, he was welcome to. He smiled "that means i can stay right?" He asked and Lanji gave a bit of a laugh. "of course you can, i'll get someone to show you around the city once you've had you breakfast, please visit with some of the others, it wont be long before you remember each one by name" He said as he got up and waved goodbye to the cook and walked out.

Nuran watched him leave and felt something was odd about the way Lanji talked, or even just looked. The feeling was quickly shaken away when the cook from earlier handed him a plate of eggs along with a warm waffle, with syrup next to it. He saw the cook sit down in the same seat that Lanji had sat in and smiled at him "Hey, I'm Tarebey I'm obviously one of the cooks, I heard there was a new kid in town, and i couldnt wait to meet him." Tarebey said with a smile as he watched Nuran gaze down at the food as if it were god. Nuran smiled up at him "thanks for the food, and i'm Nuran" He said as he quickly began to eat, his eyes lit up once more at the taste of the food, soooo gooood he thought as he continued to eat, everynow and then taking a sip from the glas.s of water. Tarebey gave a small laugh but was called back to the kitchen "oh gotta go, seeya" he said as he gave one last smile at Nuran before getting up and heading back to the kitchen.
