((Okay, um....)) Damon flitted through the trees silently, his target in sight. "I don't know, man. Draining vampires is illegal." One human said, obviously scared as he looked around. The other man scoffed, his gun filled with wooden bullets. "Please, ain't no vampire gonna get us." Damon grinned, lauching himself forward to land in front of the man. "Hello." He smirked, gone before the man could shoot his gun into the air. "AH WE'RE GONNA DIE." The scared one yelled, running towards the line of trees. |

(( That works. xDD )) Calyx woke up to heavy paws thudding on her chest. She opened her eyes to see her german shepherd mix standing over her. She opened her mouth to scold him, when he dropped a slobbery news paper roll onto her face. He jumped over her and trotted out of the room happily. She let out a sigh, whiping the dog's drool from her cheek. She snatched up the rolled paper and followed the dog. She found him, raised hte paper, then sighed. All the dumb dog was doing was giving her paper. Even though he half way ruined it. The dog nuzzled her hand with his wet nose before padding outside. "Gah, you stupid dog," Calyx grunted, sitting down on a nearby counter and doing her best to seperate the pages. Once she was done, she leaned back against the wall and read. A gory picture with some dude made her cringe. Its headline read 'Body found by hunter's lodge'. Of course, the only thing she was interested in the papers were the murders and accidents. Once she was nearly done, loud barks could be heard in her back yard. She rolled her eyes, walking outsude to shut him up. "Maxwell, get your furry butt over here!" The dog ignored her, barking at people walking by his fence. No one gets in his territory!

Damon glared at the dog barking as he walked by, turning to walk up to the fence. He leaned down, growling back at the dog, tempting it before pulling away, smirking at the animal.

Maxwell went mad. From barking, he started showing his canines snarling at the vampire. He attempted to jump over the fence, but in mid jump Calyx grabbed his collar and forced him down. The furious dog bt her arm before finally giving up. He rolled onto his back in submission, whining softly. Calyx glared at the dog, whiping the small dots of blood that wer ebeginning to form where he bit her. "Sorry 'bout that," Sh said, poking her head above the fence.

Damon pulled himself up, sitting on the high fence. "No problem. You should get that bite checked out, though. What's his name?" He asked curiously, quirking his head at the dog.

Maxwell finally sat up, licking her hand. She swatted him away, more interested in the stranger. "Naw, its okay. He does this kind of thing all the time," She replied, rubbin the back of her head awkwardly. "His name's Maxwell, Max for short." She added. The dog started to growl at Damon again, but a soft flick to his nose quieted him down. "I'm Calyx, you?"

"Ah, so he's territorial..." Damon chuckled softly. "I'm Damon Salvatore. Nice to meet you, Calyx. I haven't seen you before, are you new?"

"Very," Calyx said, patting him for emphasis. "Nice to meet you, too." Maxwell swished his tail, hitting his master's leg roughly before padding away, ears back. She ignored him. "Oh yeah, just moved here about three weeks ago. Cousin passed away and I inherited his house. Pretty good for something free, I guess."

"Didn't know him. So I don't really care. But thanks, though." Calyx said. "Oh yeah, I just read that. Its really the only interesting thing in the paper. Though I only got through the first paragraph, Max's drool screwed up the ink. Long story," She couldn't but notice his smirk, like he was happy about it. She ignored it.
