Meh. I'll post the basics of my character.
Name: Zera Valante Age: Sixteen. Ish. Gender: Unisex. Just kidding. She's a female. Appearance: Long, wavy hair that is somewhere between being dark blonde and light brown; it has hints of copper in it. She has pale, pale skin; a few freckles dot the bridge of her nose and her cheekbones. She stands at an average 5'3". She's slim, but she has her curves. Her eyes are large and almond shaped; they are a dark grey color.

Name: Zaniell Webber (Like Daniel, but with a 'Z') [ He goes by 'Zane'. ] Age: He looks around 19. Gender: ... Male. Appearance: Unlike most 'typical' vampires, Zaniell's appearance didn't change much when he was turned. He has white skin, though it isn't pale. All on his back, chest, arms and neck are tribal tattoos, from when he was human. They didn't disappear at his changing. He's average height, about 5' 10", and he has an athletic and muscular build. His hair is about medium length, hanging a little below his ears, and is dark brown and wavy. His eyes are dark violet when he has fed recently. When Zane is hungry, his eyes turn black, and he gets all scary looking.

The brush snagged a tangle in her hair, and Zera winced. Her hair was beginning to get unmanageable, being as thick as it was. her servants stood by her bedside. She had already changed into her nightly change of clothes- a dark green silk gown that went down and stopped at her ankles. Once she gave them the signal, the servants began to braid Zera's thick hair.
It took them a good thirty minutes, but when they were done, the servants dismissed themselves to the servant quarters and Zera sat on the edge of her bed. her legs hovered above the ground, due to the bed being a bit higher than most, and she sighed. The soiree that had occured earlier had tired her out.
Her father, the king, had to deal with many political matters that simply bored Zera to tears. Letting out a yawn, she layed in her bed properly and stared at the ceiling before allowing herself to drift into the velvety dark abyss of sleep that she had been longing for all day.

A man in all black hovered in a tall tree, just outside the Princess' window. He was waiting for the right moment; once the servants had left and the princess drifted off, he new it was time. The figure dropped silently from the tree, his hooded cloak not even making a noise as he swept through the breeze.
As he opened the balcony door, the man took off his hood, revealing his high cheekbones and straight nose. His violent eyes seemed to glow in the dark as he approached the bed, and the princess. When he reached her, the man had all but gasped. His master hadn't told him how beautiful the girl was. Still, it would not hinder him from his mission.
With light, nimble hands, the man picked up the sleeping princess' cloak, and then her body. He made sure she didn't stir as he went through the open balcony door. The breeze was ever so slight, and the man was quite thankful that her dark blonde - light brown - hair was in a braid. "Oh, Zaniell," The figure muttered to himself, "Why did you agree to this...?" He asked himself as he scaled down the building, holding the princess safely against his body. He shifted his weight so the body was resting on one leg and one arm as Zane lifted his hood up, hiding his features again. He wasn't about to risk anything when he had gotten this far.

Zera was used to being carried while she was asleep, so she didn't wake easily. When she felt herself being pressed against someone's body, she sighed and leaned into the warmth. When she felt herself being balanced unevenly, though, her slate-colored eyes fluttered open and she looked up at the person carrying her.
She couldn't see the man's facial features due to the dark cloak that hid his face with shadows, but she could tell that he was not a servant and that she was not in her bed.
She had heard stories of princesses being kidnapped by ruffians and then only being returned once their parents payed a large ransom. And she thought that this situation was exactly like that. No questions were asked. Her mouth slowly opened, and she began to scream.

Zaniell's eyes widened as the princess began to wake. He stared into her gray eyes and felt himself getting lost. He blamed it due to the fact he hadn't fed in a while. No mortal had ever had this effect on him, and it wasn't a feeling Zane enjoyed. He kept staring silently into her eyes, knowing that she couldn't see his from inside the dark shadows cast from hood.
As the scream started, Zaniell was broken from his trance. He quickly clamped his calloused hand over her mouth, just hard enough to muffle the sound, but not hard enough to actually hurt her. He lowered his face down to hers, his rough and gravely voice piercing the silence. "If you scream one more time, I will make sure you aren't physically able to again." He didn't want to threaten the girl. Wait, yes he did. That's why he did it. Zaniell wasn't going to make this more difficult for him, though it wasn't his plan to make it easier for her, either. |

Zera's eyes widened and she let out a few scared noises and nodded. She wished that she could bite him and draw blood. Or possibly lick his palm to get it away from her mouth that way the guards would hear her and save her. But this man was strong enough to carry her down a tower- he didn't even seem tired yet. She knew she was no match. Not much of her scream had made its way out of her throat before he clamped his hand around her mouth.
She swallowed the lump in her throat, tears starting to roll down her eyes. She was a princess. She'd never been threatened before, and it terrified her. She shook slightly.

"Thank you, princess," Zaniell said softly, removing his hand quickly from her mouth. Every fiber in his body was telling him to knock her out, tie her up, or at least shove a cloth down her throat to keep her silent, but Zane didn't want to appear to be the monster he really was. Secretly, the vampire wished he would just nuzzle close to her again... It made it easier to run, as well.
Zane looked across the grounds, searching for any movement or signs of life. There were none. Quickly and smoothly, the vampire jogged to the castle wall, from the point of entry. He walked the stairs to the top, stepping over two unconscious figures - soldiers - to get to the other side. "They aren't dead," He assured the princess about the soldiers, though she hadn't even asked. Zane was almost positive she was wondering about them. |

Zera was still shaking. She couldn't stop herself from doing so. She'd just been kidnapped, for god's sake! She still hadn't seen his face. She let several tears roll down her face as she was carried close to her captor. She was actually surprised at the warmth. She figured that people who kidnapped others would be cold.
She hadn't noticed the unconscious guards, but when her captor mentioned them, she sniffled and nodded, her eyes large and watery. She was glad that they weren't dead. At least they might have seen what her captor looked like, and report him to her father, who would surely send the best knights to save her. She held onto that hope, though she knew it probably wouldn't happen.
She rubbed her eyes slightly, still sleepy.

Zaniell felt a tug in his heart as the Princess shivered in his arms. Sure, he was kidnapping her, and she probably thought it was for his own sake, but that wasn't it. When you're hired to do a job, you do it. Or the ones that you love die. Simple as that. Zane glanced down at the girl in his arms and inwardly sighed. He wished he wasn't the one to kidnap her.
"You know, we'll be travelling for a while," Zaniell said, keeping his voice low. "It'd be best if you slept. I won't harm you while you're sleeping, you have my word on that." And to Zane, his word was everything. |

Zera wasn't happy about the idea of travelling for a long time. The longer they travelled, the farther away they got from the castle. For all she knew, she may wake up in a new kingdom. She then was surprised by his interest in her well being.
What did he care if she slept? She'd just become dead weight. Well, at least it meant that they weren't interested in killing her. Or if they were, they wanted to kill her while she was in good health. She bit her lip and shuddered inwardly at the thought.
She didn't ask where he was taking her, or how long they would be travelling. She simply put her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. Perhaps this was all a dream, and when she woke up, she would be back in her room. That sounded like perfectly good logic to her.
And no sooner than a few minutes later, Zera was back asleep, sleeping like a princess once more.

Zaniell simply smiled as the Princess rested her head against his shoulder. He didn't lie when he said they were travelling for a long time, though the distance might not have been as far as she thought. The longer the girl slept, the better it was for the both of them.
Zane crept his way through the trees, and found his way to his horse. It's beautiful black main and body stood out in the dense forest. It was standing, as if expecting its owner and his carry on. A large boulder was at its side, a perfect stepping stone for Zane to use so he wouldn't have to set the princess down.
Carefully, the vampire stepped on the rock and looked down at the stallion. He settled the princess on the horse before climbing into the saddle himself. He pulled her into his chest again before setting off, riding through the forest.

Zera slept easily. Her hair didn't tug at her, and she hoped it didn't get in her captor's way. He may get angry and chop it off with a concealed knife, she thought to herself whle sleeping. She felt herself being gently placed onto a horse. She knew what it was without opening her eyes. She knew what saddles felt like.
She opened her eyes for a fraction of a second before she felt her captor's presence behind her, and allowed him to pull her against him. She sighed, and tried to keep herself calm. Being afraid would only cause her to do rash things, and her captor to do rash things in return.

They had only been riding for a few hours when they reached the safe house. House would be an overstatement. It was a cottage. A cottage with a small garden in the backyard complete with a chicken coup. The sight brought a smile to Zaniell's lips.
"Princess, we're here." Zane told the figure in front of him, slowing down the horse to a complete stop. He hopped off of the horse and turned to face the princess. It was still dark, and he didn't know if she needed assistance. He wasn't worried about her yelling or running anymore; they were miles and miles away from civilization, or even another house.

Zera didn't wake when the horse stopped, and she moaned when she felt her captor move from behind her. He was her pillow. She frowned and rubbed her eyes as she cleared her vision, blinking a few times. A cottage. A small cottage. With no servants waiting to greet you at the door.
Zera had stayed at a place like this every year, and she didn't mind it. Her distant family used to own a place like this, because they weren't considered to be close enough to live in the castle. Her face dropped, however, when she realized this wasn't a dream.
"What are you going to randsom me for? Or are you just some sick person who wanted a princess all to themself?" She hopped down from the horse, crossing her arms over her chest. The bottom of her silk gown was sticking to her legs from static, her bare feet enjoying the feel of the grass.

"Yes, I kidnap you royal folks for fun, Princess," Zaniell muttered just loud enough for her to hear, sarcasm thick in his voice. He reached past the angry girl and started to undo the saddle from the horse, ignoring the Princess completely.
"I wouldn't recommend running, yelling, or stealing the horse," Zane then said casually, as if it were a topic he spoke of daily. "There's no one around for miles, and I can catch up to the horse quite easily." The vampire clamped his lips together quickly. The girl didn't need to know more than she had to.
"And for your information," Zane added as he led the horse to the cottage, "I do not get any money nor power for taking you." |

Zera wasn't amused by his sarcasm. This situation was serious to her, and she didn't appreciate him taking it so lightly as to be sarcastic. Her slate colored eyes searched the area where his face was. Would he ever take that hood down? She wanted to at least know what her captor looked like.
She was surprised by his confidence. "You can catch up to the horse? Must be one lousy horse, then." She sighed, and watched him move. "And if you get no money or power, then why do you do it? Why do you steal me away from my family?" She looked at him with somewhat sad eyes. Perhaps she could make him pity her. Perhaps if he felt enough pity, he would return her to the palace.
"And if you steal princesses, try not to dress like a thief. It won't help you get past guards. Ever. And it doesn't calm royalty down to see a man in a cloak."

Zaniell was amused by her statement. "Mmm, yes, the horse is lame," he said to himself with a chuckle. The horse was quite strong, and extremely capable. The difference was, so was he, even more so. Being a vampire definitely had its perks, but the would never counter the fact he had to take life constantly. Immortality wasn't worth the price.
At the mention of his attire, Zane stiffened. He turned to face the Princess, examining her features, knowing she couldn't do the same. "Princess, I think you forget your surroundings," He said softly. "I am not planning on going past any palace guards, nor do I plan to put you at ease." He paused, a hidden smirk danced on his lips.
"I believe you would not be comfortable with knowing what I look like." That was a lie. Zaniell just didn't want the reaction of her knowing what he was. He never liked the reaction and never thought that he ever would. |
