Due to your personality evaluation, your teacher have decided that any of these three Pokemon would be a good fit:
Charmander
Natu
Dratini
Now you have to choose: Which One?
((Your reply must be about you choosing your Pokemon, and end with the opening of your pokedex! Don't forget the egg moves either!))
(Guess what? One of these three Pokemon is a Fire-type!)

Zakeru walked into the classroom for the last time. He had graduated the academy with good marks, by his parents standards. Hell, he was what... number 3 in his graduating class of eleven? Shrugging mentally, he ignored his other classmates as his burnt orange eyes found his desk. Just as the letter he received said, there was a rectangular ob ject sitting on the flat surface, along with three red and white Pokeballs on little black stands so they didn't roll off the surface.
His head tilted to one side as he sat down, pulling out his chair from underneath the desk. Zakeru studied the three balls, recalling what the letter had. In these three balls, lay three different Pokemon in stasis; Charmander, Natu, and Dratini.
And he had done his research on them, going through his notes as he attempted to remained unbiased about the three. Though, he always remained partial towards Charmander, considering it was a Fire-type Pokemon.
Dratini came in at a close second.
Natu... Natu he didn't really like very much. So the small bird wasn't much of an option.
With a sigh, he switched his attention from the three Pokeballs to the rectangular device. He narrowed his eyes at it as he picked it up to look over the ob ject. Along one of the longer sides were hinges and he took no time at all at flipping it open to just inspect the inside. The side he held in his hand held a small screen, with a control pad going in all four directions with an circle enter button in the center. On the part he had flicked up, there wasn't much there, except for two small speakers.
He flipped it close, but kept it in his hand, before standing once more. This time, he turned his attention back to the balls and chose the one on the left. Rotating the ball in his hand, he tossed it up and said softly, "I choose you."
With a flash of white came out of the Pokeball and settled on the chair he forgot to push back underneath his desk. The Pokeball came back down, and he caught it fairly easily whilst the whiteness vanished and in its place stood a Charmander.
The orange and white lizard looked up at Zakeru, made a noise of confusion and tilted its head to one side.

After the whole class had finished choosing their partners, one of your professors started to speak. "This is a Pokedex," she sayed, holding the same color pokedex you examined a few minutes before. "It is practically a--oh what is it? Nintendo 3ds?--yes, one of your Nintendo game boxes." Your Professor pluged the Pokedex into her computer, letting the whole class see the basic mechanics of registering a Pokemon. She nimbly opened the Pokedex in the same manner that you did. When you get a closer look at the computer screen you can see that the bottom screen was blank, and the top screen was a box with enough room for six Pokemon to be displayed. After setting down the Pokedex for a moment, the Professor called out a Pidgey. "And this is how you register," she said. She then aimed her Pokedex at the Pidgey and pressed the two side buttons once again. A red light scaned the Pidgey, and a picture of it appears in one of the six blank boxes. She then explained that the dex will hold information for all of the Pokemon that you capture, and that you can edit which Pokemon it displays as your party Pokemon manually. "The rest of the controls you have already learned in 'Basic Pokedex Handling', I take it?" she asked, getting a round of nodding in return. "If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!" she finished.

Zakeru watched with disinterest as the professor explained the Pokedex, suddenly remembering how to handle the device he still held in his hand. Burnt orange eyes flickered from the device he had opened with one hand towards the little lizard. The small creature blinked its eyes, suddenly moving from the chair it was on onto the desk, reaching out with one small paw to tug at the sleeve of Zakeru's shirt.
He smiled somewhat at the little Charmander and rubbed its head slightly, making it purr contently. Names for the Charmander started running through his head, but he needed to know the Pokemon's gender before he could decide on anything.
Removing his hand from Charmander's head, he pointed the 'dex at the small Pokemon and scanned it into the system. Its information popped up. Ah, so it was a female. Well that definitely helped with naming her.
"Kasai," he said. Kasai looked at him, tilting her head. "It means fire," Zakeru added, and she made a cooing noise, signalling that she liked the name. Zakeru chuckled in his chest and entered it into the 'dex.
After the Pokedex accepted the name for the female Charmander, it asked his own name, which he entered in and pressed 'Confirm'. His trainer information popped up and he nodded. Kasai took the opportunity to jump up onto his shoulder, hanging off like his little brothers used to when they were younger.
He shut the Pokedex and slid the device in his back pocket. "Time for some adventure, eh Kasai?" She cooed again. "I just need to stop off at home first." Kasai nodded and snuggled deeper into his back as he turned to leave.

As you were turning to leave, you saw your classmates doing likewise. First out of the room was Bella, carrying a Goldeen. You didn't know much about her, besides the fact that she adored water-types. Next out came twins Lilly and Milly, being followed by a Hoothoot and a Spearow, respectively. Class bully Mack was pushing his way to the front, giving out free death stares to however stayed put for a few seconds. Closely following him was a Tyrogue. "Zak!" Your friend Jade called out as she came up to your desk, a Chikorita following her. "What'ya get?"

Zakeru stopped when he heard Jade call out to him. Although, he didn't really like the nickname she gave him, he went along with it because she was adorable and he was very fond of her. Burnt orange eyes flicked from her, to the grass-type following behind her. He knew that if they ever fought using their Pokemon, he would win solely based on the fact that fire-types were super-effective against grass.
Though he had eyed the Goldeen Bella carried earlier, knowing he would loose if he wasn't smart. The twins' Hoothoot and Spearow would be hard to beat, seeing he only had one Pokemon. And Mack the Bully's Tyrogue seemed as well... evil... as its trainer.
He sneered mentally. Bullies were insecure little twerps, but he avoided them at all costs. There was no use confronting a male who doesn't wish to be told his flaws and shortcomings.
Zakeru shrugged the shoulder Kasai was hanging off of and the little Charmander cooed. "Charmander," he responded to his friend.

"Oh, cool! Did you nickname it? And is it male or female? Chiko- my Chikorita- is a boy, and refuses to finish his species name when he talks! Weird, right?" Without waiting for your answer to any of those questions, Jade just kept talking, occasionally stopping to pop some sage or burnet in her mouth, then take some more herbs from her belt of pockets, and give those herbs to Chiko, and then she continued jabbering. Needless to say, it was an herby, jabbery, cycle. Around you, the people who hadn't left already kept gazing at Jade, wondering how could she talk for so long? As Jade talked, and you politely listened, what were Kasai and Chiko doing? Your first Pokemon, in fact, were talking with each other plainly. Chiko didn't seem like much of a talker, but he did have herbs in his mouth half the time. Kasai was less of a talker than Jade, but more of one than Chiko. Whenever Jade took a break for herbs, Kasai looked up at you to ask if they could leave the building. No doubt everyone was getting hungry.

There was only so much female chatter he could take before his mind did a total system reboot. And right now, he could feel it. Without much warning, Zakeru's hand was suddenly over Jade's mouth, cutting off whatever she was saying mid-word. His brows were scrunched together.
"Kasai is female. Her name means fire. Maybe that is how Chiko always talks," he said, raising one brow at the last sentence he spoke. Then, his stomach growled, reminding him that he hasn't eaten yet.
"How about we go get something to eat and you can finish your questions then?" he inquired when he caught sight of Kasai's pleading eyes.

((Sorry about not posting, just couldn't muster the willpower.))
"Fine," muttered Jade, who then lifted Chiko into her arms, and followed you out to the plaza. Outside was bustling. There was a rather giant buffet, where you could stock up on all your favorite foods and chow down while planning your journey with your friends. There were also six holographic battlefields for those who had a wish to test their skills. "Me and Chiko are going to check out that food!" said Jade who then rushed off with her Chikorita towards the food.
((What do you want Zakeru to do now? You could go talk to your family (that you can control), check out the food with Jade, or look at the battlefields.))

Zakeru just shook his head as he watch Jade rush off towards the buffet. It was rather amusing to see her go from a Chatty Cathy, to a blessedly silent female. Kasai watched briefly before looking past the rushing female to the tables of food, and looked up at the male beseechingly. The human nodded and followed after Jade. However, he didn't get very far since two small bodies decided to attach themselves to his legs like Mankeys.
He paused and looked down at his two kid brothers. Trisdane and Zackari stared up at him with wide smiles splitting their face. Whilst the two looked very similar, the only difference was the stripes in their black eyes. Zackari had orange stripes while Trisdane had gray/white stripes.
One had to be right in front of them to tell the difference.
Kasai, just noticing the two extra weights, climbed over Zakeru's shoulder to glance down at the two smaller humans. She tilted her head a cooed slightly, swinging her tail up so the small flame on the tip didn't accidentally burn the eight-year-olds.
"Niichan," Zackari said drawing out the i's, and Zakeru tilted up a brow, wondering were he learned the honorific, "mom wants you to join her. She already go you some food and she has something else for you."
"Alright, Zackari," the male stated. "But I can't move. You and Trisdane are like cinder-blocks!" Then, he started walking with exaggerated steps while his little brothers giggled before getting off and grabbing their brother's hand, leading him off to his mother.
It didn't take very long for the twins to drag their older brother to a table were his mother and stepfather, Faolan, sat with plates of food already in front of them. Zakeru could see his parents talking about something, but he was too far away to hear anything. However, when the three came close, their conversation paused and his mother shooed his brothers off.
The twins went off to play with other kids their own age.
Zakeru and Kasai watched with two different emotions. Him, amusement. Her, curiosity.
He sat down and Kasai slid off his shoulder to the empty chair beside him. In front of him was a plate of food, making his stomach rumble. Kasai had a small bowl of Pokefood, and the Charmander wasted no time in grabbing one to nibble on.
"Okāsan, Otōsan, the twins say you wanted to talk about something?" Zakeru asked as he started to eat.
His mother, Eridanus, started to tear up and she half-launched herself at her eldest son, hugging him close and patting his gray and black hair. He blinked, mouth full of food, and his mind started to go into system overload. Besides constant female chatter, crying females were something he didn't know how to deal with. Burnt orange eyes glanced over to his stepfather, but the heterochromat just shook his head.
Zakeru cursed in his head. He'd just have to wait this out. Faolan wasn't going to help, and Kasai was still eating.
After a minute or two, Eridanus returned to her seat and wiped away stray tears at the edges. "My baby is going on an adventure!" she said tearfully.
"Okāsan," Zakeru whined as he swallowed a mouthful. His mother made a sh-ing noise and he wisely shut up. He took a few more bites as he waited for his mother to start talking.
When she did, she told him that she wished him the best of luck on his journey, and to treasure every Pokemon who stood by his side. To not be over confidant, but confidant enough. And to remind him that the best fights are not always between Pokemon.
Zakeru silently agreed with that.
Then, she pulled up messanger bag. It was black leather with burnt orange accents, with red symbols on the front flap; トカゲの息子。
Tokage no musuko.
Son of the lizard.
Fitting, with all things considered. He watched as she opened it and explained the several compartments within it. It bore a big compartment split into two; one for key items and the other for regular items. In the regular items side, there was a CD case for TMs and HMs. There was also a small section for medicinal items. And a small draw-bag for berries.
He wrinkled his nose at that.
At the front of the bag, before the compartments inside, there was a spot for the Pokedex so it wasn't sitting in his pocket, getting sat on by his butt. So, he leaned to one side and pulled out the 'dex before sliding into its small pocket. He nodded happily and continued eating as his mother continued to explain things. Such as the small case that came with the bag to store badges earned by defeating Gym Leaders.
After cleaning off his plate, Zakeru stood and slipped on the bag after his mother zipped it all shut. He positioned it so the bag hung off his right side, with one strap going over his shoulder and the other curving around his stomach and side. He flexed and rolled his shoulders, liking the way it felt.
"What do you think, Kasai?" he asked his Charmander. She looked up from the half-finished bowl of Pokefood and cooed in approval after she motioned for him to turn slightly. Zakeru smiled somewhat.

((That was a pretty awesome post. and By the way, Happy Halloween!))
While you were with your family, Jade was getting herself into a bit of trouble. Wanna know what it was? She pushed past Mack in the Buffet Line... No surprise that she now ran to your table in urgency. "Zakeru! Mack just challenged me to a battle! What do I do? What do I do?" she exclaimed at, well, the top of her voice. Chiko was conveying the story to Kasai as his trainer stressed out.

First thing Zakeru did was clamp his hands on her shoulders, thumbs gently caressing. "Calm down first," he commanded. "Now, what type is Tyrogue?" Instead of waiting for Jade to answer, he responded to his own question. "Fighting. Chiko is Grass. What moves does he have that would be effective against Mack's Tyrogue?"
Kasai listened calmly as she continued to nibble on the Pokefood, occasionally reaching for another as she finished the one in her paws. She waited until Chiko was done explaining before offering her two cents; psychic and flying were effective. But since Chiko was neither, it would be a hard fight.

((All types, including Fairy, can be found in the Johto region in this rp) "Well, I've heard that Psychic, Fairy, and Flying-types are the strongest against them, and that Grass-types do about average damage to Fighting types, so Chiko wouldn't have any advantages, but he wouldn't have any disadvantges either!" Said Jade, concluding yet another of her long-winded talk sessions. Now she looked up at you. "So, think it's time to battle? He's right over there." Jade pointed the first holographic battlefield on the far right of the table.

Zakeru listened to her rambling, nodding along at the appropriate spots. When she asked if its time to battle, he glanced over her shoulder to look at the holographic battlefield. It seemed like Mack was at one end of the field with a nasty look on his bully-face.
He scowled at nothing.
"Are you ready to battle him?" he asked in response. Zakeru knew he'd be standing on the sidelines, offering up support and suggestions to Jade.
