Ireland, the Emerald Isle or Éire as it is known, is considered the hub of the magical world, luring mythical creatures of all kinds with its irresistible power. But, now that most magical animals have died out, or been killed, Éire no only attracts humans of magic blood. Gradually, a small and secretive community of human being who have retained the eldritch abilities, or better known as ‘magical powers’ has grown. Though most have died, a few young people still live there, practicing their arts and remembering their powers in hope that someday they would not have to live in secrecy.

They are the Daoine i Ndearmad, the Forgotten People.

These days though, the Daoine i Ndearmad live freely on their own island, created by one of the first members of their community, Fatale, an earth elemental. They occasionally put on shows for the locals of Ireland, who flock to a larger island (too made by Fatale), which was created for the purpose of growing their own food, but is now their show-grounds.

They live in a camp on the small island, dubbed Oileán Beag by those who visit it. Sleeping in large wagons decorated individually by each member, and eating around an open camp fire, the members rarely use this island for anything else. The mostly stay on the larger island, Oileán na N-Aillte, named for the large cliffs that surround ¾’s of it.

 

‘Fáilte go mo chara, fáilte roimh,’ a small painted sign says, with the words ‘Welcome my friend, welcome,’ written beneath in black ink. You stop and peer around the camp curiously, and spot a tall and thin girl walking around near a homely campfire. You step forwards cautiously, intending on asking the girl about their shows and such, when a large canine leaps out of the gras.s, snarling viciously. You yelp with surprise and leap back, when the dog, no, dog-like creature, speaks to you in a clear voice.
