Because I <3 the magick of the gods and goddesses and I'm bored as all get-out. Here is a basic run-down, for those who are interested but have no idea how this sort of thing goes. It is believed by many of the few pagan and pantheisic faiths out there that all the gods spoken of in each of the different cultures mythologies, be they Norse, Celtic, Roman, Greek, Egyptian, or whatever, are just each culture's interpretation of the same people. In every culture there is a three-fold goddess, represented by three sisters, as with the Greek Moirae, Charites and Erinnyes, or the Celtic goddesses Nemain, Morrigain, and Macha. Even those of the Wicca faith have the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. Each culture has its Mother Goddess, and it's King of Gods. So, with all this in mind, we have one of two options. One is that you can be any of the gods from any of the pantheons, or we pick one pantheon. The nice thing about any pantheon is that there are always minor gods and goddesses as well as lesser spirits that have no names, so you can make an original character. I just wanted to give this a shot and see how it went, so if you're interested please say so!

Name: Dusk Age: 114/Immortal Gender: Female Species: Godess Looks: She stands 5'4" and weighs around 90 lbs, very skinny for her age (she looks 14), some might even go as far to say that she is underweight. Her hair is coal black and her eyes, though blind, are a bright purple color. Her skin is almost as pale as the albino cyid. On her right shoulder is a white thin trail that intertwines with the black one on her left shoulder. This resembles Yin and Yang. She is usually seen wearing a purple kimono-like top and blue jeans. A cloak wraps around Dusk's frail body and keeps her warm. Around her neck is a sapphire hanging on a necklace. Personality (optional): She is often quiet as if she knows something that nobody else does. Mysterious as she is, she makes a loyal companion if she grows to trust you. Many times, she closes herself up and becomes and emotionless ball of emptiness. She has anger management problems and will sometimes get mad for no clear reason, though she knows there is one. History (optional): (Nothing.)) S.O.: Straight Other: None.

She has the natural build of old-time harem dancers, deeply tanned honey-gold skin giving her the look as well. Sharp, exotic structure to her facial features caused a lot of trouble at her birth, everyone believing she was some sort of demon. In retrospect, it was a bad idea for her mother to gift her to a family in Wales, when her appearance was much better suited for the Middle East or the islands, even.
On her powerfully compact body Merielle usually wears clothes to suit her appearance, having a closet full of Arabic and Indian dancing costumes. Of course, in recent years she's adopted the modern version of her p*censored*ion, moving from the many colored glittering skirts of dancing tops of old to shorts, sarongs, and tight-fitting apparel. Anything to show of her curves will suit her, though she prefers to accentuate without being revealing. Still, everything is revealing with a chest like hers, no matter how hard she tries to hide it.

strengths - • Anything to do with water, nature, or shape shifting. Blending in with surroundings.
weaknesses - • Fire. Causing pain. Destroying.
three words of deion - • Cheerful • Gentle • Calm

ooc:// 'Kay. ^-^ bic:// The forest was peaceful this day, truly a place that could be called holy to the Mother. All was hushed, focusing its energy on the goings on of a meager portion of the hallowed woods. The trees around the small clearing, focal point of the energies, seemed bowed to its center, a light haze appearing to guard its border. Only one apparent path was shown as an entrance or exit, and that made by the stream which in the tiny glade found its end with trickling waterfall. For a few moments the forest had centered itself around one living being, in the center of a five-point star, around which a thrumming circle of protective powers. The circle itself was marked not by light, but by a circle of moon white blossoms and stones.
The being within the circle was not wholly remarkable, yet not completely unremarkable. A small if not muscular frame told of a strong line, one that had been bred down in size to better live off the land. Sun-darkened skin the tinting of amber-gold honey and a proud, almost feline facial structure gave hints of an exotic home, somewhere in the deserts where raiders and horsepeople made their camps. A velvety curtain of thick, wavy copper-black hair fell the the lowest reaches of her back, which was rigid with meditation. Eyes the color of the forest itself, a deep green flecked with woody browns and even a smattering of bright golds were open to the water, which tinkled crystaline and pure before her.
Outside the circle lay two beasts, watching their mistress with solemn regard and a patience of untold years of bonding. To her right lay a feline form too large and beautiful to be of this world, with wide, glowing green eyes like new leaves. No hunter or studier of animals would have a guess to its species, the markings on its face simple and dark, a ruddy black sharp against the auburn of its pelt and white of its stomach. Horns like those of a time-weathered buck sprout from its head, ears flicking on occasion. The cat was silently watching his charge, the one he had known as his master since both their births.
To the left lay a hound with the thick, rough pelt of its breeding, though the color was a peculiar pale gold. The faithful watch was a m*censored*ive one, paws near the size of dinner-plates. Perhaps six feet long, with a tail of equal length, she was a proud and majestic beast. Unlike her lolling feline companion the hound was rigid and alert, large amber eyes scanning the woods constantly. Her guard was infallible, never going slack for a second, though her mistress was long in her thinking, and reluctant to leave the sanctity of this place, where she was so close to the one who was both mother of her soul and mother of her flesh.
And so they were, the goddess-child and her entourage, perfectly at peace. The girl's aura held the colors of sunset, as at peace as she was. And yet, something stabbed at her calm, the reds and blacks of doubt and anger, fear and uncertainty. The Mother she summoned stood quietly at the edge of the clearing, watching her daughter with eyes that changed color with no real no pattern. For once her hair stayed one color, its fiery red a sharp contrast against her fair skin. At first glance, the two bore no resemblance. Perhaps that was why Merielle had chosen this form, to be as far from her mother as any could from the goddess. But the powerful lines of their features, the delicate arch of their brows, and the regal air they both carried with them like a cloak were all a perfect match. 'My lovely daughter...'

Far away, in distant lands yet untouched by the harsh hands of the humans the day was not peaceful. Powerful gales shook the once proud trees down, forcing them to creak and groan as they bent to their new master, the weather. Waves pounded the sho.res and eroded the land, leaving beaches where there had been none before and covering old ones with a la yer of surging water. Thunder clouds covered the sky from horizon to horizon, dark, black and majestic. They rumbled and roared as lightning struck from the sky, capturing the attention of all wild beings who had the bravery, and perhaps foolishness, to be outside this day.
Only one pair of eyes watched this storm with joy, only one being revelled in its fierce and untamed power. Who smiled when the lightning struck and clapped her hands playfully when trees fell.
And then, with the same ferocity in which the storm had struck, it left. Trees righted themselves and once more stood proudly. Animals creeped from their nooks and hiding holes to gaze at the sky, for the somber clouds now parted to reveal a bright sun. A radiant disc in the sky, a raging ball of fire, the sun let its light rain down on the ravaged landscape, healing it till it was whole.
But that being, those eyes which had watched the storm with such joy were now bright with satisfaction. What had once held a raging fire within, the eyes faded to a bright sky blue, not unlike the one in which the shining sun made its home. Slim, fine-boned hands lifted the simply carve lute from the being's mouth and placed it in a fine ivory box, decorated with images from the frozen north, of dancing wolves and swooping birds.
'A fine storm,' the being murmured to the black snake which wound around her neck, fangs glinting silver as it hissed. 'Retribution has been wrought.'

ooc:// Hey, green is my color... Every tree ripped from its roots, every tear made in the earth, was felt in the Mother's soul. She screamed as if it were her own flesh, breaking her daughter's meditative trance. The sound was so high, so terribly pained that while it lasted all who heard it writhed in agony. All but Meri, who during this heart-wrenching screech stood, hands over her ears. This was a sound she knew well, child of the Mother in body and spirit. With delicacy that belied her fear and anxiety she stepped over her companions, who howled in pain with their goddess. Gently she touched her mother's shoulder, kissing the pale brow. Strange, that the daughter should comfort the mother, but noone else could fathom the goddess who was the earth and life incarnate. And at her daughter's touch the wail ceased, and the goddess turned her eyes upon her daughter. Those eyes had now chosen to hold their color, shining in the mirror of those that looked back at them. Tears poured down her cheeks freely, and no word had to be spoken for a small period of time. Merielle knelt to hold her mother, who shook with sobs in her arms. "Oh, daughter, it was awful. So many big, proud trees. I felt it. It's silly to still take it so badly over these years, but I can't help it. And yet, I can already feel it healing, as if nothing had ever happened." Merielle nodded, rubbing her mother's back. After a moment she turned to her friends, who nodded at the unspoken request. The feline met her gaze, eyes glowing with the harsh light wrought from his anger. 'My Goddess, I can take you to where it was.' A nod of gratitude was given, and Merielle helped her mother to stand. Once upright the goddess was once more her usual, proud, overbearing self, and she gestured with a wave of her hand that she no longer required *censored*istance. "Very well, Balder. Lead us, if you please." He bowed, and took off into the woods. The hound kept close at his heels, like an unwanted shadow. Together the small troupe ran with swiftness that would shame the fastest cheetah and the most graceful deer, bent on their target. With all her splendor Danu burst through the line of trees, letting herself grow to her true height of 14 feet, the shape she only took when deeply angered. One look showed Merielle the fire that burned in her mother's eyes, as real as the lightning that moments ago had torn away at her mother's sacred domain. When Danu spoke it was with a voice that made thunder sound like the squeak of a mouse, energy crackling around her. "Who gives you right to cast your power over this my realm, untouched by man and devoted to me? You are the Avenger, that I know. But there is no evil where I lay my hand. There is but nature and green. What right do you have, one who has known but a taste of the power a goddess may yield? Did you not know to whom this land belonged?"

Dusk's hand prickled as she poked the cold water beneath her. She stuck her bare feet into the surf and leaned back on the palms of her hands, getting sand on them. The elder stared blindly up at the sky and wondered what it would be like to see again. After the battle with her arch enemy, her dream of 'seeing sights' had been lost. She heaved a sigh and got up. Her feet padded forward and brought the water up to her waist. Although Dusk was an elder at 114, she looked like a teenager-a 14 year-od to be exact. Her short hair hung neck length and her blind eyes were a calm purple. She stood 5'4", but in her true form, her other form, she was 10 feet. She has never used that form except in one battle with her enemies. Dusk tossed her black hair out of her mouth and chewed thoughtfully on a finger nail. Her hair fluttered back into place as Dusk fingered the sapphire amulet around her neck. Her pale hand smoothed down her purple shirt. Dusk sat down and her sightless eyes, once again, turned to the sky...
