A pplane sets off, racing down the runway at a high speed before turning its nose up, and soaring into the clear blue sky. Sunlight reflects off every window on it; There's a heatwave today, and it's at record temperatures. Hotter than it's been in over fifty years. The plane is big, able to fit about a hundred people at least, excluding the pilot. The people in it are mostly tourists, gone to visit Ireland for the summer, while the weather's good. The only problem is, it's not just good, it's stifling. The temperatures are skyrocketing, and there are reports of people passing out being called out on the radio.

It remains like this until about mid-day, getting worse and worse. The plane is about a mile away from Ireland, when bright lights flashed everywhere. The plane plummets down, all sight being blocked out by blinding whiteness, and crashs straight into some rocks about a hundred meters off shore. Both the pilot and co-pilot are killed in the crash, as well as the majority of the passengers. However, some do survive. The only question is, are they really the lucky ones?

The once bustling city, Dublin, where they were scheduled to land, is a desolate waistland. The only signs of civilisation are the ruins of buildings, and not a single home or building is left standing. No green grass or healthy trees can be seen; Phoenix park is now a dusty, desert like area. Exactly what has happened here, and what on earth is going on? That is for you to discover.
