-I dont own this idea. It was all Kylers...with a little help from me. I'll probably butcher it...then you can kill me-
She opened her eyes. Well, that seemed realistic; it actually felt like she had opened them. This new game-tech stuff was pretty cool, if it did that; she couldnt even feel the helmet, bracers, or boots she wore. She must've been lying down, cause she was looking up at a tree blocked sky.
sitting up and looking around, she could see she was in a heavily forested area, dozens of pools seeming to have been dropped at random. She peered into one and saw a glowing circle, purple and blue swirling, enter twined. Another seemed to be a dark cave. The girl shook her head.
"There's more than one way into the Wood between the worlds after all," she mumbled, then blinked in surprise as she felt her mouth with her hands. Felt, not imagined. She had actually spoken, felt her mouth move to shape words. Felt her mouth form into a grin.
What was the name she had chosen for the game? Oh, right. Lanen. Her name for almost everything. She was surprised about how well her character moved and responded...almost as if she was the character and actually in the game...but that could never happen....right?
She walked over to a pool again and looked down. Very realistic. The game-tech devices she wore made the game seem much more interactive. Lanen leaned farther over the water to get a better view of her character self.
Focusing on her reflection, her rank and level appeared over her torso.
Lanen
A.ssa.ssin, Rank: 1
[Defense: 2] [Stealth: 5] [Range: Short] [Speed: 9]
So cool, she grinned and continued to gaze. Her character was short with a slight build...a childs build. Her blond and brown streaked hair was long and swept the palms of her hands as it tumbled down past her knees and stopped. Light blue eyes, black starter attire. Lanen grinned and looked at her bare stomach. Her look became puzzled.
"Weird. I dont remember putting that there," she blinked and poked the 'arcane' circle that surrounded her hard torso. Deciding to ignore it, she shrugged and turned. She blinked yet again at a glowing trunk a little ways off. Ever the cautious sort, she ran over to it to kick it over. It opened, the contents spilling. A set of twin daggers and a pouch of gold bounced over and seemed to become absorbed into her character.
Items acquired: daggers, 10 gold
"A.ssa.ssin," a voice hissed from behind. Lanen spun to face it. The owner of the voice stood in a pool of water...or hovered above it. "It is time to test your worth." The Slate drew a blade; a wickedly formed longsword the waved in graceful curves near the hilt and tapered to a deadly point at the end.the weapon flashed a few times as the Slate arched it over its head.
Lanen drew her daggers...or they appeared in her hands. She let herself a brief moment of surprise before the Slate was running towards her, a frightening bellow on his lips.
Their blades met and locked with a flash of sparks, her dark daggers making an X shape to block the Slates long pale sword. They broke apart and ran at each other; Lanen discovered her ability to run on water as she sent one of her daggers into the shoulder of her attacker.
That should put an end to it...
She brushed her hair back and turned to look at the the challenger, grinning. But that grin soon faded as she watched a circle of energy form around the Slate. His form changed to what Lanen was able to identify as an Arcanis; a dead wolf resurrected by dark magyk.
"Heh. Easy kill."
Lanen drew her blades up. The Arcanis charged at her and leaped into the air to attempt a flying bite at the girl. She stabbed her blade deep into its chest where the heart would be, and flung the Arcanis far away from the pool. The body hit the ground and dissipated, leaving behind the beautiful long-sword. It's handle was wrapped in leather that glimmered with magic, and had a crystalline counterbalance. The hilt looked like someone had crystallized fire, and then attached it to the blade. And from the hilt was the blade, pure-white metal with a perpetual aura of magic flooding off of it.
Lanen whistled low. "Welcome to Eterna, I guess."

Yay! Game world! Alright, I'll actually post a bio in the morrow, but I'll explain a bit now.
Eterna Unknown is a game that requires Game-Tech in order to be fully experienced. Players can link together from all parts of the world to play in a medieval-esque world. There are different ranks of players
Fighters: They fight. Big whoop
Defenders: big guys with soft hearts
Archers: duh
Rangers: Robyn Hud! :D
A.ssa.ssins: They like ponies and sharp objects
Mage: Battle magyk, healing magyk. either/or
Bards: Sing pretty songs and hit monsters with their lutes. Have the ability to quicken healing.
Clerics: Specialize in healing magyk
Your level and strengths/stats increase as you go.
Overall, the game is total awesomness in every way, shape, and form. If you die, you respawn shortly after. If youre injured, you rest to heal. Pretty basic, really.
But why does it feel so real? Like the stuff is actually happening? It's as if you've become one with the game.....
That stuff will be manifested as we roll merrily along...
