"Nanai, sing us that song again- the one about the bluebird. Just one more time," said the red-haired boy, twining his fingers in his sister's. His twin sister, who also had red hair, smiled and looked up to the gray-haired woman standing at their bedside.
"Please, Nanai. We'll go to bed right after this," said the little girl, readjusting herself so that she was leaning slightly on her brother. The two of them looked up at their grandmother, and stuck out their bottom lips.
"We promise we'll go to bed after you sing it," they said in unison, almost as if they had it all planned out.
"Alright, alright," said Nanai, pulling some of her coarse, silvery hair back behind her ears. Once they were revealed, it was evident that they were pointed. Elves ears. The old woman was an elf. "I'll sing it to you one more time. You two should have it memorized by now. Tomorrow, I want to hear you both sing it that way it won't get lost." She placed her hands on her lap, leaned back in the rickety, old, rotting oak chair, and took in a deep breath before allowing her light, vibrato voice to carry out the tune that she'd memorized as a child when her mother had sang it to her. She wished that her own child could have sang it to her grandchildren, but her eldest daughter had died long ago.
"Oh, I'm a bluebird, wild and free. Oh, don't you wish that you were me? Flying high above the sea, Oh, I'm a bluebird wild and free."
As Nanai finished up, she looked down at the children, whose silver eyes were wide with awe. They thought their grandmother had the most beautiful voice, and she did. Her voice was one to be coveted. "Wow, Nanai," said the girl, smiling. "I wish my voice was as beautiful as yours."
"It will be one day. You just have to grow into your vocal cords," said the grey-haired woman as she tucked the children into their bed, watching as they snuggled against one another for warmth. "And you too," she said, looking to the boy.
The boy looked up at his grandmother and sighed. "Do you think we'll ever be free again, Nanai?" He bit his lip and looked up. His ears were also pointed, now that his hair had diverged from his ears also. Upon closer inspection, it was also clear that his sister had pointed ears. They were all elves. All three of them were.
"I don't know, Wyn," Nanai said, looking over at the locked door, and at the collars around each of their necks. "I don't know.

In the land of Faavel, there is no electricity. It is a mideival land, and life is hard for those who aren't well off. Women are considered as lessers, and they are treated horribly if they don't have a male escort with them at all times. There are different races all over the world, but each country has only a few races in it.
In the country of Remedia, there are two races present. There are elves, and there are humans. The humans look just like you or me, but the elves have several distinct features that make them stick out. The first, most noticeable thing is their pointed ears. Their ears can be hidden though; however, there are other tell-tale signs as to if a person is an elf or a human. Female elves always have lithe builds. They weigh less than a hundred pounds, and they don't usually get any taller than 5'4". The males look average, though, but they don't usually reach a height of more than 5'10". Also, all elves have a unique feature that sets them apart from others. The feature can be a strange birthmark, different colored eyes, or a strange hair color. The tell-tale difference differs from elf to elf.
The elves are forced to work as servants, maids, and sometimes even as pets. The elves that are in slavery are forced to wear a collar. Some collars look the same, while others are different than others. The wealthier the owner, the better the collar. However, there are elves that have escaped this treatment, and they are forming a rebellion. The war has already started, and the human government isn't happy at all. They are pounding down harder on elves, punishing them harshly for even minor offenses.
Some humans oppose the idea of elves being in slavery, also, and they are also punished by the government, and treated as pariahs. They don't openly oppose slavery, but they've started to create an underground railroad system with the assistance of the Elven Resistance.
Will slavery be stopped by the Elven Resistance and the humans that support it, or will the resistance be extinguished, and slavery continued?

|| -x- Rules -x- ||Post "Oh, don't you wish that you were me," in italics to let me know you read the rules. 1) This is a literate roleplay. If you cannot provide me with at least two paragraphs per post, do not join. 2) Ask to join. 3) I may or may not choose a co-owner, depending on who joins. Do not ask to be co-owner. If you do, I will go out of my way to make sure that you do not become co-owner. 4) I'm going to be picky with this roleplay. I've put a bunch of time into making the rules, and all of the posts, so don't rush through your posts. Try to use proper grammar and follow the guidelines that I've provided for the elves. 5) Don't create a mary/gary sue. It'll just force me into a blind rage, and I'll probably start flaming people for no reason. That wouldn't be too fun, now would it? 6) No begging. If I tell you that you cannot join this roleplay, do not beg. Begging is a pet peeve of mine, so just don't do it. Seriously- don't. 7) Try your best to provide people with a good post to work with. If you post two paragraphs of nothing, you give us two paragraphs of nothing to reply to. Therefore, we'll provide you with -insert number here- paragraphs of nothing in return. See? Two paragraphs of nothing= Chain reaction= Bad. 8) Highlight the space above the rules. 9) Try your best to follow my rules. I'm a rather understanding person, so, if you make a mistake, apologize and fix it. I most likely won't get mad over small things. However, try not to let small mistakes occur. 10) The gender ratio needs to be even. If you create a male, create a female, and likewise. You may coordinate with another roleplayer. Let's say, if you only want to roleplay as a girl, and they want to only roleplay as a boy, you can balance eachother out, and I'll accept it. Also, if you only want to roleplay as a male, you may do so. 11) Try to keep the human-elf ratio even. You may roleplay as only an elf, or only as a human, but try to keep it even. I don't want ten elves, and three humans, or vice versa. 12) Ask another user if you can be the owner of one of their elves. 13) Romance and violence are highly encouraged. Especially cross-race romance. 14) No gay/bi/lesbian characters. Not for this roleplay, at least.

Age: Seventeen Gender: Male Species: Elf Personality: Zawynaias is a very cooperative person. He tries to keep his sister in line, and he treats her as if she's younger than him, though they're the same age. He is a brotherly person, and allows people to spill secrets to him. He's selfless to a point where he often gets himself into trouble while trying to help others, and he is very sympathetic. He's a bit curious about others, and he loves to learn. He asks many questions, which often earns him the reputation of being nosy. History: Will be revealed later. Owner: Raun. Collar: Loose black collar, dragon clasp. Other: He and Sylvanna are siblings. They are the twins from the introduction. |

She speaks mainly only to her brother, and she hates it when people try to control her. She's wildly independent, and she's stubborn as hell. She resists orders, which often gets her into trouble, but she simply bites her tongue as she's being punished to avoid allowing anyone to get the best of her. She warms up to people eventually, has a strong maternal nature, and is quite nurturing when it comes to animals and children. History: Will be revealed later. Owner: Shiki. Collar: Red leather collar with ruby studs, choker style. Other: She and Zawynaias are siblings. They are the twins from the introduction.

Oh, don't you wish that you were me. I would like to join. Ill be having a male human who is against slavery, and keeps his "slave" female elf (A coverup) to stay within the more powerful pro slavery humans (Backstory to come out later). They are both secretly well trained assasins. Not fond of bios, I find them rather limiting but Ill post a simple one for both of them if you'd like me to join. Shift |

No problem, Ill get the bios up tonight and let you start off the first post/setting. It would probably be easier if we started in an area where its easy for our characters to meet. I am a pretty literate writer though I may be a bit rusty. And it always annoys me when people don't read my rules so I always try to be respectful on other Role Plays.

Ooc:// Alright. I'll be waiting for your bios, but I think that we should wait for a few more people to join before starting this roleplay. You know, since my characters don't have masters yet, and things would go along slowly if it was just the two of us.
And I also don't mind if you're a bit rusty. Heck, rusty roleplayers always come up with some of the most interesting posts, simply because they're rusty.

Ooc:// Nobody can really control magic in this roleplay, but the elves have strong connections with the earth, forests, animals, and anything natural. Certain elves that have connections to their original ancestry can speak to animals. I guess that counts as some sort of magic. XD
