Welcome to 15th Century England in the city of Elvemore. It has been announced by the Royal Council that for the protection of their Queen, all females above the age of seventeen shall wear masks on their sevententh birthdays. These masks are to be worn at all times. Removal of the Masque, which is a violation of the royal decree, is punishable by imprisonment and in the case of a repeat offence; Death.

The royal decree was pa.ssed down ten years ago by the Royal Council to cease the Queen's suffering. All the young ladies must wear masks when in public or in the pressence of someone they do not know. When they are at home in the pressence of their blood relitives or their partners the mask do not have to be worn. Although for the unlucky few who work within the castle with the Queen the masks must be worn at all times. Any slave and survant female must abide by these rules unless they are to sleep. Thus their doors remain closed until morning when they must place their mask back on. The city is now a safe haven for mask makers, who come here in hopes of becoming rich. The royal blood of the Queen may walk among the streets of Elvemore gleaming in gold thread and peacock feathers, while the lower cla.ss people are stuck with rags paper mask they made themselves.

Here in the city of Elvemore, Masquerade is not a party or ball one can just simply go to then at the end of the night remove their maks. There is no goofing off with their friends and sparing with their foes. Masuerade is a way of life for the young females. A life of deception and play-acting that never stops. It is slowly taking over the minds of the young females turning them into obedient servants of the Royal Court. Without their beauty they have nothing to offer to the world.

Some though, rise against this royal decree and in secret meet to find a way to rid this poor city of Elvemore from the darkness that has taken over. A few females have chosen to not let the horrid masks bother them as they frolic with their freinds in the day and plan and plot their sins at night. Will you join this fight in saving the ever dying beauty in Elvemore, or will you loose your way among the masquerade streets?

The Backstory:

'November 6th, The King and Queen decided to throw a ball in honor of their daughter's 17th birthday. All in the city of Elvemore was invited to celebrate with the royal family. The night was running smoothly and was certainly enjoyable until tragedy struck. Whle the Princess was dancing with a fine young man she became ill and fell into her date's worried arms. The Queen and King freaked dismissing everyone at once. The Queen rushed to her daugher's side only to find her dead; she had been poisoned. With the tragic loss of her only daughter, the Queen hid away from the world and public.The king took over the city but that did not ease his pain in knowing his wife was heart broken and would never venture outside of the walls of the castle. One day he got an idea that changed his thoughts about the society among the walls of Elvemore. He called a meeting upon the Royal Council and told them of his wife's problems. He explained that every time she would venture out into her garden or room she would see a young pretty face of a female staring at her, taunting her of her deceased daughter. That was when the Royal Council created and deemed the new rule; thus turning the lovely city of Elvemore into a giant masquerade.'

Rules:

1. Be respectful of others.
2. Romance is allowed, but it may be a little hard and do NOT get caught without your mask.
3. Violence is allowed. Just remember 15th century = Swords and daggers not guns and ammunition.
4. The men do NOT have to wear masks. Only females 17 and up.
5. ONLY characters 17 and up. It will make this roleplay a little more enjoyable.
6. Keep the gender ratios even! I don't are how many characters you have as long as the gender is even.
7. This is a semi-literate rp. You must have 5 sentences per post and yes 5 sentences is a paragraph. I could be mean and make it two paragaphs per post, but I shall not.
8. Post the name of the city to join and show me you have read the rules. I only said it around five million times. ^.^
9. In the picture of your character/s you MUST have a mask that they are wearing. I would rather it on them, but if it doesn't fit your character's picture go find a mask and post it.
10. In the bio. Delete ( -insert writting here-) those messages.
11. Also if you join please stick with it. Bookmark it or something.
12. Your characters may have a dramatic past but HAVE TO be over it. If you have a sob story and I find out your character is playing a part of that sob story within the rp I will kick you out. No one likes to hear another character whine about the past.

This is an old Rp I found within the pages of roleplaying. It is my original plot and I thought it might be fun to bring back to light. If you do not beleive me you can search the forums yourself but I promise it is there. Start at 60 and go back. Its between 60 and 70 somewhere.

Name: Julien Vasqueze

Mask Picture: Doesn’t need one. He’s a male.

Personality: Julien is the strong silent type. He is the type to stand back and watch instead of getting immediately involved. People say to fear the silent type which is true on Julien’s case. When he is mad he won’t hesitate to hit you wheather you’re a male of female. Sometimes his anger gets the best of him which gets him into trouble. He’s not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.

Career: He is a brave warrior who fights alongside the King and Queen. He’s a body guard basically.

Part of the secret society or not?: Nope, but he sees the impact it has on his sister which hurts him. He may join it later.

History: Born and raised under the castle’s roof.

Other: He cares for his sister deeply and is extra cautious on how exactly she is treated within the castle. He won’t be afraid to stick up for her. He never leaves her side once outside though. For some reason all the masked women creep him out and doesn’t want anything to happen to Raine.

Personality: Raine is extremely quiet as well. She keeps to herself and is a total outcast. She only speaks when she’s spoken to unless it is a small conversation with her brother. She’s shy and when she does speak she normally has something helpful to say. She hates offending people and will apologize over and over again if she does offend someone. Other than this first impression when she gets to know someone, she’s very friendly and likes to have fun.
