(a wolf or fox, but not a dingo or tiger we're in the us. I don't think zoo animals escape that easily and actually not get returned... otherwise we're too far in the us lol)

((Actually it's a pretty common assumption in animal fantasy that all animals understand each other and can communicate as creatures of nature, a trait that humans lost as they became less and less like other animals.))

(er... ok, but um this isn't really a fantasy animal thing) Benthris hobbled along the forest floor, roughly half a mile away from a camp site. The camp fire was spreading. (Thats what happens when you forget to put rocks around the pit!) Benthris smelled smoke, and shuffled to a tree, squealing like a pig. The fire spread quickly, and so did the fear in the forest creatures. They could hear fire sirens, and also police sirens. Benthris passed out from inhalance of smoke. She awoke to the feeling of warm hands pulling her ears inside out and shining a bright light in her eyes. |

Breathless sniffed the air, she smelt something burning. Whatever she thought. She looked off the stage and to her owner, she looked back to the man who walked up to her and kicked her foot "Pay attenchon you mangy mutt! This is YOUR show! You need to get it right!" he growled "Back from the top!" he said into the tiny micro phone. She shook her pelt and dirt ran off of it. She ran off the stage and sighed, she never even wanted her own show. "Fire!!" a voice called out and everyone feld, she looked around and shook her head Falce alarm she thought and trotted around. She saw her owner flee out and slamm the door behind her. She squinted her eyes and cocked her head. A large flame appeared infront of her and surround her in a matter of seconds. Her eye's were filled with fear as she tried to get out, it was no use. She jumped up and tried to look over the flames, no use. She tried again and still no use, after her back legs reached the ground, she collapsed down and passed out becuse of the smoke fumes.

Benthris' check up was over. There were burn marks all over her and she had lost alot of fur on her tail. She was now curled in a dog bed on a carpet. She didn't like to be treated like a dog, though she didn't really know what a dog was. She heard chimes ring on the door of the animal rescue, and saw Breathless in a carrier coming in. Her head lifted up, trying to name the creature. She stood up and hobbled to the cage. She sat down, her front paws resting on the bars of the cage. "What a strange creature!"

Breathless herd 'What A strong creature!' out of no where and slowly opened her eyes "A-A-Am I dead?" she gasped. She twitched her ear back and lied her head down. Her vission was still blurry, she blinked a couple of times and the blurryness was gone. She shut her eyes and sighed. "Oh Gosh I feel horrible.." she snorted.

Benthris stuck her nose in the cage and snorted. "Don't sleep! Don't sleep! Awake! You smell like ashes. Why do you smell like ashes? What are you? You look odd. Why do you look like a giant fox?" Words flowed out of her. She squeezed into the cage and stood on her back legs.

She let out a loud growl "And what are you supposed to be? A Prarrie Dog?" she barked and sniped at the cage. "I'm a Husky dog." she growled "I suppose you dont have your own show like I do!..... Well..." she sighed. She looked down and sighed "Never mind..."

Benthris was offended. "I'm a siberian ferret..." Benthris sniffed Breathless. "Whats a dog? Whats a show?" Benthris tilted her head. She turned a full circle around Breathless and stood on her hind legs back infront of Breathless. "Whats your name? I'm Benthris."
