Please don't support Kony2012. I have found out actual evidence (an audit for Invisible Children's spending) that Invisible Children only spends 30% of all donations on what they claim they're doing. The rest of the cash (about 6-7 million USD) goes to paying staff, flying people around the world to promote their organisation (NOT FLYING T AFRICA TO HELP THE PEOPLE) and making that film.

They have good intentions but they're inefficient. By watching that video and responding, it's saying 'it's okay to spend that money that's supposed to help people on self promotion'. Please, spread the word.

You can say 'they need government support or the government will withdraw the troupes'. BUT. The only people who needs to see this video and support are Americans. I don't think the American government would care about whether foreigners care or not. America is not the planet's nanny.

Below (in white, highlight to read) is my argument FOR supporting Kony2012. Until actually finding out about how terribly inefficient this organization is. However, I left it there because it can apply to ALL charities. Please do your research before being criticizing. And do your part in reducing the population of arses by not acting like one.

Hi. I'm just doing my part and spreading the word. It may daunt you that the video is almost half an hour long and you may think it's not worth your time. Honestly, it felt like 5 minutes to me. Please watch it and all will be explained.

For those people who don't want to support this cause because you think the charity is benefiting rather than the people:

First of all, I think you're a rubbish person. You can help this cause without even reaching into your wallet. You could spend a few seconds of your facebook/twittter time, ONLY MOVING YOUR FINGERS (to type and use the mouse). OMG IS THAT HARD?

You may think that by you spreading the word, even though you don't lose money, others are buying in and benefiting a bunch of slimeballs. Bro, who cares if someone is buying into it? It's like people buying Justin Bieber albums! You aren't affected monetarily. It's their money and they choose to spend it on a worthwhile cause. If you think the money is going into the charity owner's wallet, DO YOU HAVE PROOF FOR THAT? It's like saying unicorns exist, no evidence whatsoever. You're just a bitter, unreasonable skeptic and you don't deserve to be one.

Next question: Why should I give money? Alright, from my perspective, someone who is very interested in geography and developmental sciences. It's awesome. What they're doing here is grassroots development. It's giving people a livelihood. Also, this charity also attempts to give people a political voice. As many people know, politics ruins everything. Trust me, their politics are worse than yours will ever be. If you can afford to sit in front of a computer, use the internet. You're better off. This is helping poor countries, making the world a better place. They're not pretending to do something about it like KFC and McDonald's does, food aid and all of that unsustainable stuff. Don't you feel glad?

Reason 2: HOW MUCH MONEY DO YOU HAVE? Seriously? You could spend that money you would've used to buy something useless like a t shirt or a haircut and give it to something that works and grows. Don't you think that a community of people, rising from the ashes is a lot more beautiful than you wearing that shirt? If you think you'll need that money, don't then. You need to take care of yourself first. Just buying yourself useless things is just not taking care of yourself. Seriously, think about where it could go.

'Saving Africa is a really hipster thing to do'
I actually saw this written somewhere. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO USE PROFANITIES ON YOU.
Erm. Look at your house, your computer, your education. Things you HAVE. The point is that you have something. Some people were born in the wrong place and don't have anything. It's a trend, like Justin Bieber. Does it mean you have to go against it? Use your brain for once you idiot. Justin Bieber is something you can criticize. But helping people? Really? Honestly, you're better helping unfortunate people than yourself.

OH YEAH, DON'T SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO COMPLAIN THAT THE WORLD SUCKS AND IS HOSTILE? Rather than just sitting there, saying 'oh how the world sucks and stuff. It's really crappy, people are going to die with all of this rubbish'. Why don't you do something about it? It's like saying 'I'm hungry' and not being arsed enough to get yourself food. You're really an indecent person, it's not too difficult to do something about it. Do a little bit over a long time. Be proactive and you can feel good about yourself for once.

Also, if you are one of those people that complain that there are too many arses on this planet. lolidk, you should maybe stop contributing to that.

Do your part and help cull the population of arses (Joseph Kony is the biggest one!)

Another thing I should point out is that if you don't trust this charity, you could always help another one that you do trust. Maybe even start your own community project.

Oh and I'm going hiking with Hugh Evans (an Australian humanitarian) this weekend. If you're still skeptical, I'll ask him about what he thinks about this Kony2012 thing.

Invisible CHildren is not a completely trustworthy organization. I have swallowed my pride and admitted that I was wrong. Please do not give Invisible Children any money.

Any charity that sends kids on an all expense paid trip to another country as part of their donation drive is worthy of suspicious.

I donated some money before when Invisible Children came to our school, but it was to a kid at our school who had a very legitimate chance of actually winning that trip. I was supporting him, not the organization, because I've learned to not really trust many charities.

I think he fell like... 150 dollars short of the trip, though. :(

Kony stuff its all fake. Its a proiftable orginization and when there selling stuff most of the profits go to paying their workers and then the rest is to stop kony which isn't a lot. these people are scamming the whole world because no one really knows whats going on. Whats happining is they are just trying to promote themselves so people know who they are and they want to be known as the good guys... which their not. Kony is real but what they are doing to "stop" kony is really nothing. They want you to think that they are a NGO (non-profitable orginization) but they arn't, they make too much profit. They are not helping the Kony situation at all. Just because Obama is involved doesn't mean that they are truthfull. Sad to say but Obama isn't always truthfull. He doesn't do much good for the US and just because he is the president doesnt mean everyone should believe him. Please if you read this, do NOT buy anything from their site. And do NOT tell your friends that this is an awesome orginization because all your doing is promoting badness.
